*Know* that I have only recently been re-acquainted with D&D, having played it for a few months in 2000. Life interrupted, particularly the loss of my father in 2004 and eventually I forgot the game I had enjoyed those brief few months in 2000. I could say my dad is one of the main reasons I was drawn back into D&D after my best friend suggested we roll up a few characters two years ago once my best friend re-introduced me to D&D. My earliest childhood memories were of sitting on the couch with dad and watching 'Nova' or 'Star Trek'. Dad was always a great storyteller, as well as my mom and many of those stories inspired me to later take up the pen and write ones of my own.
I had heard once or twice about NWN I & II, Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment and the Icewind Dale Trilogy, though given the fact that I lacked enough coin and had a computer unsuited for gaming left them out of reach and forgotten until I was around 20-21 years old. I was able to purchase all of those games and one might say I've been experiencing a reverse nostalgia of sorts: enjoying games I never had the chance to play as a child and young teen and I must say I feel it makes the experience meaningful.
I absolutely fell in love with every bit of these games, the music, the characters, the storylines, particularly NWN I & II and Planescape Torment. Currently, I'm involved in several PbP D&D campaigns as well as DMing for two of my own. My characters have been as varied as the campaigns: a tiefling arcane trickster-turned-tavernkeeper keeping a firm leash on his precocious nephew - a teifling bard, a githzerai rogue/psion whose best friend is a human paladin of Heronius, a githyanki raised in Sigil striving to attain a place of her own among her people.
Speaking of bards......
All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.
May we all share our stories

I honestly am looking forward to joining in whatever I can manage. Currently my laptop has been refusing to revive, so I must accept the necessity of procuring a new one.... somehow....

Planescape: Torment is considered by many players and reviewers to be one of the best D&D computer games ever written. I am one of those in agreement.
Dak'kon also happens to be one of my favorite characters. I think it's around here somewhere...
My past is not known to you. It is not my will that you should know it.
Know that I bear the scars of one who has travelled the Planes. Know that I have never rested long in any one place. Know that I bear the weight of one who has travelled far to be in this place.
Know that I am a Githzerai. Know that I am of the people of Zerthimon.
It was Zerthimon who knew the Githzerai before we knew ourselves. He knew what had to be done to free us. From his knowing, came action. From his knowing, freedom was born. The Githzerai ceased to be slaves and became a people.
Know that I follow the Unbroken Circle of Zerthimon. His words are known to me. His heart is known to me.
*Know* this and be well!
