They're just letting the beta testers install the client in preparation for the beta. To make sure that it will run and stuff.... Tread lightly in what you post, being a beta tester is a privilege not a right. You'll lose it as fast as you got it.

"If you do not yet have a Perfect World account, please create one and you will be automatically added to the pool of potential Neverwinter Beta Test candidates. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter to get the latest news and be the first to know when Beta starts!" :O
Oh, and Torrent Download! That's quite nice of them.
I hope they add those Sys Reqs soon.
Edit_ Oh, wait. That screen has them. *checks again* Ok, I meet all of them except that I have a GeForce 8500 so... "Nothing to do here" apparently.
I downloaded the game and installed it, but when i enter the launcher and enter username and password he just restart it
So is the server down?
Just reiterating what has already been said. Beta has not started yet for the public, even if you have a beta key.
Furthermore, giving information that is accessible to beta testers could be a violation of any NDA (non-disclosure agreement), so I would be cautious on spreading any information that may be available to you as a beta tester, such as the system specifications. Granted, this latter has now been leaked quite a bit, still the note of possible NDA violations should be taken into consideration.

Exactly.
Edit: Now being part of the "Server Down" club at the time of this posting (yes, rhymes with "I have a beta key,") I fretted on listing the just download link alone, (which was posted on this forum in other locations and the other sites that noted the link from beta key fliers scanned elsewhere also.) Since the download info was "coming soon" and referring to their FAQ for those without an entered beta key, I decided to allow it, and would explain steps or referrals on anything asking in a technical manner, without giving away proprietary information, ( including not listing anything that "registered" users who entered a key could only see.) I will say that the client does appear very much like Cryptic's others and is linked and branded to Neverwinter's forum and support sites (that shouldn't break any agreements.) If you're curious what their clients look like, feel free to Download Star Trek Online or Download Champions Online. Their clients' "options" pop-up box has similar features as this one does and works the same way at the time of this posting. Even if the features change, the general way the NW client works will stay the same since they are using the same Cryptic Server setup they use for all their games (even if said features change.)
Since the system requirements were listed on the above fliers, I decided also to list potential system requirements with the warning this was not guaranteed and could change. Even if that above link becomes restricted and needs to be removed, the system requirements are a starting baseline that could be used (until we have more public information.)
So, do be mindful on anything you view on the game mechanics once you enter your beta key and cautious about any public postings. It never hurts to privately email or message those listed with the Beta (really developers/administrators but sometimes users) and ask for advice before publicly bringing something up if there's any uncertainty. Of course, as they set up more for the beta, it will be clear where one can post information for that community as well as any reporting/support issues that pop up. I'll continue to post what I can, but do know proprietary information is just that and I may not be able to explain some things or post some things at all on the general public thread I'm maintaining here.

Oh gosh, this is rather exciting! Don't have a Beta key but did preorder Torchlight 2, so with a little luck I hope to be enjoying this game in the near future and trying to help improve and iron out bugs! b:chuckle

I think you just came up with the next Neverwinter Online mini-game: Bug ironing!

Hey, I just came across this thread. I'm very pleased to see a bit torrent option. If at all possible, everybody try to use the torrent. It'll keep the server from getting congested from all of us downloading regularly, and we'll get better speeds once people start seeding the files.
Comments
It look like this
Second: Where the hell did you download this from? The game's still in alpha and the download page is neither available nor working...
rotflmao! From here I believe!

Hm maybe, doubt because really nothing has changed. Just getting ready for the beta, but it seems to be happening sooner then expected.
Well if Cryptic would respond as to their next planned move (BIG hint....)
I think you just came up with the next Neverwinter Online mini-game: Bug ironing!
Seed the files.
Remember to seed.
