"Don't get me wrong, I would like to see Eilistraee ressurected as long as Vhaeraun..." Thaix's face ills with anger but soon becomes calm again. "...will stay dead, even when i don't know how he could be ressurected 'cause from what i've heard your patron..." Thaix nods to drow female "...ate Vhaerauns divine essence"

"You dwarf remind me of the people who chased me in here. I was defending this town from those monsters on the town limits and I was jumped by a load of men. You and most of this town judge a book by it's cover."

*Probably not smart enough to read them anyway. Ha.*

"And I have a name dwarf. It's Gantorr. I came here to escape your fear, but it appears I have found more. Are you fearful of me, my power, or my family's past?"

"Well, I've gotten my own share of outsider hatred, 30years in prison being tormented, being sold and more. Yet still Im not provoking/blaming those who don't know anything about it. We can all be...hmm, whats the word?...peaceful out here, in this tavern. After all, we're not here to kill each other, we got hordes of undead to take care of."

Grogin polishes off another tankard and snorts, grumbling under his breath, " I can read just fine as long as it's in Dwarven." Quickly he turns back to the newcomer," And Gantorr I fear very little in these realms, seen more than 10 life times of trouble." His attention goes to all in the tavern, " These be dark times, and Trust is in short supply."

Pyr sits gracefully her smile returns but her green eyes seem clouded my a coming storm. As she sits she adjusts the straps of her armor. Grogin continues, " Had I not known the girl's grandmother...." Pausing he grabs another tankard and takes a long drink, " I tell all ye this once, Trust.. If ye earn mine ye have it for a lifetime, and so do your kin... Til ye have it.... Don't expect me to be overly pleasant to ya!"

Pyr giggles slightly," Spoken like a true and proud Dwarf." She looks over at Gantorr, her smile never fading, her voice calm and soothing, "As for me, I am concerned with two things, first is proving my worth to continue my quest to finish what my mother started, and my grandmother before her. And to do that I'll defend this city till the horde and is cause is destroyed." The storm in her eyes boils over as she continues, "And second, I will track, hunt and kill LLolth minions until I come across LLolth herself, an sever each of her eight legs from her body, and drive my blade through her skull."

"Now now. Girl I would like to see Lolth killed but do you remember that both Vhaeraun and your patron Eilistraee tried to do that and now they're both dead, so how can you hope to succeed in it, care to tell me that?
And dwarf. You're right when you say that trust is something whats not...easily gained anymore. Heck one hudred years ago everyone was willing to trust eladrin but literally no one was ready to trust drow, now none are trusted immediatly."

At a place where people talking about things Maeve does not understands, about gods she never heard before, she feels out of place. Goes outside to have a breath of fresh air, and perhaps some moonlight.

Thaix rises his eyebrow when he sees Maeve leaving, obviously understanding the reason for it.
"Humans with their short age, forgets important events in one hundred years." Thaix mutters silently

"Yes, yes, there are very few who you can trust these days all these terrible things that have happened recently. There are few towns in this area still standing and I know that to ask for a man's trust is to ask a lot," states Gantorr "but without trust this town will fall. Without trust you fight alone. Without trust you in turn are not trusted. Without trust the world falls apart. In trying times we may find it hard to trust, but it is required to survive. Trust is the only solution to our problems. Although trust can end badly, being wary of many can end worse,"

    *He pauses*

    "I doubt you could understand..."

    *He sighs deeply*

"And I only asked you of the fear because few fight without fear. I was a fool to question your bravery, I knew it in the fire burning in your eyes that you fight of anger, not fear, for you and your ancestors have been greatly wronged. For that dwarf, I am gravely sorry,"

"And drow, I know well of your pain and suffering, as I have studied much of it,"

"True, but trust can also doom this area to endless darkness if you trust wrong persons, and while we're talking about trust are they still trusting everyone in Silvermoon?"

"Yes, yes. But one day you will realize that risking all you ever knew is the price to pay for saving all you ever knew. I don't care if you trust me, as long as you have those you trust to guard your back. You see, without trust you have no friends, and without friends you get stabbed when you weren't looking." Replies Gantorr to Thaix

"But you must know that when the enemies draw near, you need more than yourself to live. You need at least one friend to survive in the battles to come for you only have two eyes that only see in one direction."

*Gantorr slowly stares out the window blankly into the distance. He nods.*

"Just note that I trust you drow. Because I have nothing to lose."

"You still got your life to lose. My life is almost everything what i've ever owned, yet Im here while i've had only...one friend? Who died when he wasn't anywhere near me? Ah yes, that was what happened. And you still got other senses in which to feel/sense presence of danger"

    (OOC RL again)

the truthseeker was not noticed leaving in the heated debatre, but appears walking down the stairs. his face seems notably red and swolen, and he approaches Imogene, whispering something.

She nods, and pulls out and hands over the bottle he last had poured from. Pouring a shot into a clean glass, the truthseeker then takes out a square hooked closed bag. Unhooking it, he pulls out a square bottle, then unscrews a cap attached to an eyedropper containing an aqua-marine liquid. He squeezes one drop of the liquid into the drink, seeing it slowly but surely turn purple from its clear state. the truthseeker speaks,

"I have an allergy to this specific species. It grows a continent away so I didn't think I needed to test all bottles of gin I order. This means somebody used Juniperus occidentalis instead of Juniperus communis, This explains the reaction I began having, before it could have sealed my throat shut. This was no assassination attempt but a bad batch. Fortunately, the antioxin that was on my person stopped it before it got to anything serious. But apologies for me blinking away with no notice as I wasn't sure those first moments if I was being attacked or not, and lne of sight had to be removed.

I know that sprirtmaker and can send a magicly-teleported mesage to the dristributor so they can alert all their clients to pull that "Old Oake" 767 brand of Gin, as that berry is supposed to be used for medicine only. If I wasn't on my fifth drink, I would have noticed the more bitter taste and reacted sooner.

And it looks like the headache dizzyness and nausea I got means I suffer from the effects of a hangover even when I don't have one after all. Allergenic poisioning means cures for those remaining symptoms won't work. But my body just can't rest anymore either. Guess I should do something about the mild anaphylaxis if I have to wait for the other symptoms to fade."

With that, he nods to the spigot used earlier, and she pours a glass of cold clear elemental water handing it to him. He rummages through a pack, pulls out, and opens a packet of white powder pouring it into the water, stirring it. He rapidly drinks it down, making no question by the "bleech" look on his face that it tastes terrible. However, within a matter of minutes, the redness and swelling are gone, bringing his face back to its previous "normal" appearance. He says ending with a wink,

"Let the owner know i don't blame him, but be more careful next time."

The wench Imogene keeps a decidely neutral look on her face (considering what just happened) and replies calmly and evenly,

"Of course m'lord. We're just glad you are not seriously hurt from the drinking."

Now having recovered his wits (somewhat more) and eating a hastily prepared plate of greasy eggs and toast, the truthseeker listens to what is being talked about.

*Looks at a person with horns and red skin*

Forgets all about her mace or kicking someone or something blocking the door.

Thinks, 'Is this a species of werewolf... probably not. Maybe a werebull? But the face is flat'

    *walks over*

"Selune be praised. I hope it for that creature's sake. It is not a werewolf is it? Never seen someone with horns drinking in tavern. Because if its a werecreature, I am honor-bound to face it without my face to drive off the curse."

*raises his hands in a 'hold thine actions' gesture*
"Nay, such a race is likely tiefling, but not lycan. As to whether or not they deserve to be attacked or not, I'll leave that to others' debates, but know the owner has a non-aggression policy in this bar, and I wouldn't want to "test" what wards they have. But such an action is moot if they are not werewolf. But speaking as a regular here, welcome to the Source Stone Tavern, where all who mean no harm are welcome!

*The bartender is heard muttering "some more than others," under his breath, but the truthseeker either did not hear this or chose not to respond.*

    *breathes a sigh of relief*
"I lost my mace, and if it was a werewolf, I don't even know how I would have faced it. Well, once you join Selune's club you can't say no to 'keep out of were creature business' you know. And the secretaries that selune has - everytime you pray they ask you how many were-creatures you found first thing... oops! Can't discuss those with outsider, confidential agreement. Sorry."
    *then looks at tiefling*
"Though if a werecreature was drinking, it would mean it is sane. So probably I wouldn't have to kill it anyways as Selune doesn't have problem with those who don't loose sanity"
    *scratches head*
"btw, did you happen to see an unclaimed mace here?"

"Because it is very rare to me to forget it. It reminds me of my past so I keep it with me ... reminds me of my choice and mistakes ... of those who I allowed to be killed. Well, it is quite distinct so it will show up in black-market soon I guess. It is not special or expensive but is enchanted to glow whenever werewolves are near. Now I will get some temporary mace made."

"You might as well get on with that mace then," says Gantorr "you can't order it from here. The smith will probably have it by next week, sooner if he's not busy. Although if you want a fine mace you must wait a while, though you say it is temporary so it does not need to be overly hard and devastatingly tough,"

    *walks closer to others

"I need to get a new staff myself, I dropped it when some people refused to enjoy my existence. In other words they tried to 'get rid of me'. Having fiends as ancestors sure doesn't make people happy 'round here. I I can sure understand why. Anyone have some wood I could use for the staff? I have my own set of magical substances to increase how well it shall perform."

"I do know that some standard maces have been confiscated from bar-fights, and I'm sure I could persuade one of them to be donated to you if need be. But yes, having a mace made of finely crafted materials will take time as well as notable coin even for adventurers. But if I can help...within reason...do let me know."

Grogin looks at the confusing human, "Bah!! A common mace? I'd have an ogre for a wife before a common mace finds it's self in the hands of a cleric of Selune!" Trudging off to the room he disapears grumbling the whole time.

Pyr looks up from her wine. her finger tracing a small symbol repeatedly on the table. Her green eyes stare off into the distance, almost blankly, as her dwarven companion reappears she snaps back to reality and examines the growing company.

Stomping and still grumbling Grogin carries a finely crafted mace. The adamantine shaft is encrusted with moonstones, and the mithral head shimmers in the torchlight of the tavern.
"Was a dear friend who last carried this!" he hands it to Maeve. " Bashed plenty of Zhent skulls, even land a few blows on a great red wyrm." Grogin looks at the young cleric, " I expect you'll do the same and continue it's legacy?"

Pyr watches, yet still seems a bit distant, here eyes keep darting, almost as if she searching for something, she whispers softly "We're being watched.. I just can't find from where..."

"That is very kind of you, but I must refuse" Maeve politely hands the mace back after examining it. "It is something precious to you and thus you only. Maybe you can find a better wielder. And don not worry even if I don't have my mace..."

    *Maeve takes a deep breath*

"My friend always used to say, that the most fearsome weapon is wielded not in hand but in hearts. It is his mace that I inherited after his death. I will find it soon, somehow."

*Maeve seems a bit lost in her memories*

the truthseeker is interested in what was communicated, but not the words...

He tries to determine the symbol Pyr keeps tracing, knowing there is nothing more he can do about the mace at the moment.
