Two Questions about two different campaigns

Hopefully someone can clear this up for me.
I have been away for six months and just came back recently. After re-acclimating myself to things and figuring out some of the new systems, I discovered a couple of campaign issues.

1) This is probably the easy one, so I'll start with it... Past campaigns had you run one part, then when you finished it you would move to the second part and so on.
Sharandar, for example. You work in the ruins to complete the first part, then move on to another area for the second part and so on, collecting the appropriate currencies for each stage according to where you are and what missions you run.

But then I start "Draconic Rage" and I immediately jump in to the second part. Is there no way to get credit for the first part of the campaign now short of buying it out?

That seems much more like Redeemed Citadel than Sharandar, and that, to me, is not a good thing.

=============

2) And speaking of Redeemed Citadel, I finally finished up Descent Into Avernus this past Saturday and got to start the Redeemed Citadel campaign.

I had long ago forked over the money for the Reforger's Blessing bundle, so my immediate question was "Okay, so what passes for currency here? What am I supposed to collect to advance the bar?"
I then saw the board and that awarded Zariel's favor, so I grabbed a quick mission and went out and did what I had to do to get some of that favor, but the bar never moved.

It was my understanding that the Reforger's Blessing bundle was supposed to let me run this campaign on my own time. I see no other reason for it to even exist.

Okay, so I paid the money, now what do I have to do to start advancing the campaign so I can collect the rewards that I paid for?

Thanks for your time and knowledge.

    1. Draconic Rage is like Redeemed Citadel and has a deadline.
    2. For Redeemed Citadel, you said you did one quick mission and got some Z favor and the bar did not move. Did the number in "Personal Progress" change? If you only earn few (like 10), the bar won't move. The first milestone is 7000.

For Redeemed Citadel I got a little over 100 Zariel's Favor, but personal progress says 0. I wouldn't expect much out of the bar... Like you said, it's a 28K point bar, but if Zariel's Favor was the measure of progress, yeah, I expected to see something in personal progress.

I guess they ended it but I don't recall their text stated there is a deadline for this event. The similar events after this, yes, they stated an end date but not this one (the first one). At least, I don't remember that.

I guess I'm talking to support, then.

I paid for the Reforger's Blessing bundle on the promise that it would let me do the campaign when I was ready to do the campaign.

Whether a week, a month, a year, that shouldn't matter. As long as the game is up and running, anyone that paid for this should be able to progress this.

    Thanks for the help.

It's definitely broken. This is my bard, obviously started long after the end for non-paid progress. The progress and inventory amounts should increase at the same rate. However, the progress bar is frozen at 905 now.

As said above, it was explicitly promised at the start of the Redeemed Citadel event that the Reforger's Blessing would never expire.

Exactly. This is the first one of this kind of event. And, this particular one had no expiry date. It is supposed to be available to all my toon present and in the future. This kind of event after had explicit expiry date. So, they ninja nerf'ed it.

Well, it took a couple of tries but I got it fixed, in a manner of speaking.

I am going to avoid any details on the actual process and just cut to the end...

After some back-and-forth I told them that I wanted the service or I wanted my money back. They gave me the Zen.

Well they definitely should not say you can progress this even after the event ends, yet then not allow you to continue to advance it.

At least now maybe you can put it towards Aasimar Pack, which has some similar rewards, that is if you choose to do so.

I think though Draconic Rage (Event) also ends end of July for (vast majority) yet if you unlock the Premium rewards, it then expands it out to Aug 31st. So it basically only extended it by 31 days for those who paid for the unlock, and while I wasn't around for Redeemed Citadel I wonder if that was similar?

Redeemed citadel was the first of what is now called Battle Pass events - time limited events with a secondary reward track that is payable.

They did indeed say you could spend forever to complete it if you purchased the Battle Pass.

As they figured out that regular new Battle Pass events could be a good source of income, it became obvious that having one that was active forever was impracticaL. So an end date was set: reasonably far ahead, but an end date was set.

Currently new Battle Pass events get an end date from the start.

The end date of the first 'battle pass' was never officially announced. There is still no 'end date' informed. If there is, what is the date? There was nothing 'far ahead'. It was ninja in without telling anyone it is 'expired'. When people asked, there was no official reply. They have been avoiding this question. Even today, they still say nothing. They just let us speculate. Is it a bug? etc. Even the current in game information still says you can do "personal progress' as I posted the picture above.

This is what was written in the Redeemed Citadel announcement:
    Cryptic said:

This exciting new limited time campaign will only run once, culminating in the full restoration of the citadel! Be sure to participate as each milestone becomes available over the next few months. Once the next module releases, the Redeemed Citadel will disappear from the Sword Coast Chronicles for those who have not participated. Those who have will always be able to review their past participation or claim any unclaimed rewards. And of course, those who purchased a blessing may earn personal progress whensoever they choose. Note; however, that blessings may only be purchased before the associated milestone ends!

My highlight. There was no time limit given at that time.
Then as they announced the 4th phase, they wrote
    Cryptic said:

As this is the final milestone, there will be no new milestone beginning in the future to transition milestone IV to an ended state. Instead, milestone IV will remain in the completed state; allowing anyone to earn personal progress, until the release of the next module—so feel free to enjoy the milestone at your own pace until then!

So they did say that Redeemed Citadel would close. But only at the bottom of the phase 4 announcement.

Bait and switch. People purchased the pass in the beginning. Then, buried the new information in the 2nd last paragraph of the final phase. This assumed they did not changed the original 4th phase announcement much later. And they did not even update the in game information to reflect the 'truth'. Not everyone read every news and not everyone read every words carefully.

If anyone else cares, this is the link of that news.

    https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/neverwinter/news/detail/11480833-redeemed-citadel-pt.-4-november-10%21

Update: I checked internet archive. Although the page was changed since the original post, the text regarding this matter was in the original web page.

The phase 4 announcement was posted on Nov 10, 2020. The next mod, Sharandar, was released on Feb 15, 2021. 3 months heads up time for those who spotted that sentence.

They literally sold the reforgers blessing to us as we can do it whenever we wanted provided we fork over the 4k zen. Extremely disappointing.

In the business world. That's called a bait and switch.

The only problem with that assertion though is that I've been able to complete it on characters since that date no problem. It was only recently that my characters that hadn't completed were unable to make progress.
