so I saw the guide sharp posted. but it deals mostly in the very basics.
what should we be looking for for comps and insignias and what stats do we need to have? the company set isn't good anymore. should we be rocking orcus now? lostmauth? I'm guessing we're better building for crit /power than ca now.

Side note I guess buff-builds are out the window too. Looks like a 3 loadout deal, trashmobs,boss,pvp.
Old trapper style is good and dead, and feels terrible to play. Combat probably not much better.
and I didn't say high dps, I said the highest dps of the lot, lol. there is a difference.. one could be taken to say it's actually high dps.. impressive stuff. the other just means the best of the lot which can still be pretty lackluster right.. lol
I haven't tried copying the build sharp posted in the don't panic thread. I'm guessing that's where the bread and potatoes are.
This is going to make us all very interchangeable. Hmm. Let's hope gear makes a difference later on, but meh, I dunno, seems like a lot of the variables and complexity, such as there was, has gone out the window.
Choice of content also, I guess till we beef up, will shrink to "what is possible" rather than "what do I feel like doing right now". For example today I soloed illusionist skirmish right through to gold, out of curiousity, which was fun, but guess I won't ever do that again lol.
Mixed feelings right now.
So for leveling I stuck with the tiger, used +4 fierce gear ( only because the +5 blod neck was bugged and would crash the game if I so much as touched it) and used rank 14 empowered, For off/def I went maxed out Black Ice and for Utility I went maxed out Brutals for faster xp gain and companion str. The companion is so OP atm, you can run circles around groups and let the compaion kill them on its own, so funny to watch. My companion is at 35% bolstered atm I have 9 companions in the beast section all legendary. It doesn't seem to be a cap on bolstering atm.

Just standing at the bank. I didn't play any of Ravenloft so the gear I'm in was BiS for CoDG minus the +1 weapons.
That being said, the limited time Ive seen and ported toons over.. hr, then tr, then cw.. then whatever.. then way down on the list gwf.. because , well they literally cant thing of what to do with it.. its lame. also.. not exactly sure about sw.
It sort of feels like mod 1 or 2.. before we all had outrageous x3 lifesteal (even back then to be honest.. sharandar boon x 4-5% lifesteal was enough for most content. (still was to be honest.. just slotting the guild boon made everyone invincible)
While I sort of appreciate some of this.. there are a few things I dont like.
1. everything seems slow.. they should reduce encounter powers.. retinker with damage and damage from enemies again.
2. Something seems wrong with scaling..
3. they went to far in some directions.. too much nerf on some things..
4. I hate more ranks of enchants.. come on.. you want to nerf everything and sale back a pitiful amount of power so you can again achieve millions in profits.. I guess thats just the play to nerf model.. I think I still wish I had a sub to skip all of that.
when you talk about scaling what feels wrong for you? The only scaling I know is off is the melee dmg is way to low atm and from what I've read they are going to adjust that.
As far as more ranks on enchants. I don't see the issue there tbh, after all its a mmo and by its nature its designed to be played a long time and a ton of farming put in. What sucks is when you max out everything then there is no point in playing. I have done that several times in different mods, Half way through a mod I had maxed all my enchants had all BiS gear so there was ZERO incentive to log in anymore. Id rather the caps be higher and just require a ton of time.
IMO they need to nerf the amount of XP we are getting with the Utility slots. I can lvl from 70 to 80 in about 3 1/2 to 4 hours played time atm. BTW they expeditions scale you down Several that I went into took me down to 74/76/78.
One thing that I do not like is losing our perma combat advantage with out companion, now you have to be with a player kinda sucks but oh well.

That's because HR actually has decent feats that reduce cooldowns.
On GF, a full CHA investment reduces my 30 second Anvil cooldown ... to 28 seconds! You should have seen the XP bonus during week 1 of Owlbear. I can see why the devs killed free CA from most sources, as they wanted players to actively be engaged in trying to get CA.
The way they did it was not smart (how are we supposed to get CA by positioning on bosses like the Dragon Turtle?) and turning Aspect into "free (x) CA Bonus" is more or less a huge waste of a class feature.

Judging by the huge amount of stats given by new pieces, I'm guessing that all our artifacts/neck/waist will change fairly soon too, by comparison their stats seem paltry.

they won't be. one of the devs addressed it. he said equipment is equipment mw or not and they were sorry if we got the wrong idea from things being improved last mod.. they are not touching them.
I haven't seen this set in action but when they say stand it in I wonder if you have to stay in it or it's a wheel type thing.
I dunno. If what I've experienced is a strong class compared to others, I'd hate to have to play any of the others.
All I see is a raft of terrible ideas (nerfing aspect of the pack, taking away the movement and damage buffs from longstrider's, HAMSTER up companion enchantments, a bolster stat system that will cost millions upon millions, taking away well-understood stats to introduce new ones that we don't understand) and no good ones. Certainly no evidence of actually listening to player input. It looks like this thing won't be ready for release for a year but nevertheless they're going to rush it out in weeks.
And all this without fixing much of the mess they made with mod 15.
