For the most part, they really struggle to sell. Things that do sell (Jewelcrafting rings) have heavy price competition. Big ticket items like Masterwork Weapon sets have normal Mastercrafters with 75% success rate (yes, Mythic Forgehammer of Gond is normal) competing against people with the same plus 1 or 2 adamantine assets (85%-95%). I helped write a lot of the masterwork entry quest information over at https://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Masterwork_Professions . There's 2 whole tiers missing from that information now for the latest gear (that's the only gear that will sell). AVOID
Don't wanna answer that question, huh? It's okay. I understand. It's so hard to open up the AH & check prices. Let's try an easier question. The last piece of MW gear you crafted... how many AD did it go for?
He did actually answer your question, or did you miss the "things that do sell well" part? He also explained that the last time he crafted was MW 1 and 2 which means hes not selling the new stuff or did you miss that as well?

a) I did not miss that part. See below.
b) Sell: to hand over goods in exchange for currency; present tense Sold: past tense of sell
c) He said he no longer updates the wiki... not that he no longer participates in Mastercrafting. If he HAD actually said that he never uses Mastercrafting anymore, THAT would have actually been a persuasive argument.
This reminds me of a classical barrier to entry situation. I assume that I am typical of the vast, vast majority of NW players that simply look at master crafting and just say no. I mean the devs have this whole system that they built, have to maintain, support for each mod update, etc. And how many people are actually participating? What's the point?
For Cryptic the point is to make profit (and hopefully enjoy their work). For players it is to enjoy themselves and have fun. The win/win is to maximize both and maintain future health. I just do not see master crafting doing that.

To start fresh in Mastercraft now is a bit much. Last Simiril I finally got my first Forgehammer. It has taken me this long to make it through all of the Tier 2 quests and I have started buying the Tier 3 Recipes. I haven't started making ANY of the items for the Tier 4 quest. I won't say that it has been fun, and thankfully I had a friend willing and able to make me the tons of Dragon's Blood that I needed for Alchemy (and I sympathize with all you Mastercrafters who done this before the Stronghold Merchants ever came in, that had to be REALLY rough). I do think, though, they need to thin down some of the entry quests so that people who are just starting can catch up to everyone else a little faster. As I said, I've been at it for 9 months and still not really into Tier 4 or 5.
First off, maybe trim down the 3 Level 25 Rare tasks down to 2. That isn't much, and they still have to go through a bit to do it.
Second, and I have said this from the VERY beginning and a few times on the forums, the mandatory common tool should be in line with standard common tools. It shouldn't be giving +0%, but +8%. It really isn't a large increase, really, but a, it is logical sense common=common, and b, that means a 28% chance or 43% chance (with Forgehammer). People will still have more failures than successes, but they should have less tries.
Third, reduce the amount of items needed to purchase the Tier 3 Recipes. 10 would be GREAT, but 15 would be fine. Again, not a huge change, but one to just allow everyone to get through it a LITTLE faster (and my luck, I will have made all my purchases BEFORE this would happen, and I wouldn't begrudge people coming into it)
Fourth, while I have heard and understand that somewhere in the Tier 4 - 5 range people can purchase/receive additional Purple Mandatory Tools, I think everyone should be able to upgrade 1 Mandatory Tool per Profession from Purple to Orange, for a REASONABLE price. Once again, not a HUGE increase, but at this point, I would think it would be welcome. Not everyone can have/afford the Orange Tools from Lockboxes, they are even more rare (it seems) than Forgehammers. This can even the playing field a little and make the whole thing a little more rewarding to make it to the end.
Fifth, with each new installment, I think all the old recipes should get minor bumps, add 5-10 IL and the stats for that on all the pieces of eq. At least this way, while the eq of the lower tiers will still be outdated, at least they will be slightly better.
Now to all the experienced Mastercrafters, don't send hate to all those just starting, demanding that they go through the Hells you did to get where you are. You know the struggle you went through. Don't wish that on everyone. With my proposed changes, they WILL go through difficulties going up, just not as bad. It might just be enough so that others make the plunge.
