of course I'm in a guild... a casual or offline guild... I don't join active guilds because I'm a casual. most say if I don't log in once and a while I get booted. there are times my work place gets busy and I can't play for weeks at a time so they boot me. get help from other players? that's a crazy notion. this is a solo game outside of pick up groups for random encounters.
Oh Atari how I miss you!

Do the intro chain to get the Vistani gear, then leave and go grind out the boons from lower campaigns.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

He mentioned Brave gear so guessing has Primal and had mentioned Barovia too hard so he had the Vistani gear and probably has salvaged it after getting Primal. That gets you roughly around 7.5 K IL. Now you need to get mounts and Insignias of high enough rank and get good companions. I've been know to give epic mounts and companions to players...mostly in guild. And give away other nice things too. Without help it can take a lot of time.
One thing that can help to make AD faster is trade the AD for Zen and get VIP which will give you a key a day as well as epic dungeon key(s) and identify scrolls. Some will say not to do it but I have found that I can easily sell the stuff I don't need on the AH for more than the monthly AD cost(1000 Zen or 500k AD) and then have enough Zen from AD for the next month and so on. I stagger my buying of zen so that I have it in plenty of time before the month is up.
And you just might hit the jackpot and get a legendary mount. At that point you have a choice sell it for millions of AD or use it.
um no... its already taking me forever to get to 500k AD and the zen trade is dead no one ever sells Zen in neverwinter. I'll just have to keep doing randoms for 1k AD a run until I can upgrade my companion and hope its enough to do SOMETHING in the game. take a few years... maybe by the time I do another expansion will come out and I can do something else. epic mount? that's not even in the cards for me... price keeps going up weekly. and I'll never get VIP cause I"m not paying real money... which is the only way now that the zen exchange is long dead.

Zen trade is not dead. You just need to wait. People are selling Zen but you can't see that in exchange because it will be taken right the way. Put your buy order in and wait. Your waiting time is usually 1 million backlog per day. The current backlog is about 20 million. i.e. if you put your buy order in today, you need to wait for ~20 days.

there is a reason why 100k cap a day, otherwise, devs would nerf Barovia hunts and Coins for armors. Try Star Trek, they limited 18k refined Dilinithium crystals per day.

If you are level 70, you can do the weekly in Sharandar, dread ring, & Protect the Portal (from the harper across from know in PE. Those pay 4.5k each, once per week.

Consider doing Barovia hunts, try hang out at Barovia right after weekly resets normally during that time will have people recruits to do the weekly for purple cards and Barovia hunts , that's where you can gear up and get more RADs to refine . (each purple gear drops can salvage about 5k-6k+ RADs)
I still have quite some posters and cards around, I can help you gear up. If you need help, PM me in forum for my IGN and we can meet up in game for some hunts.

everything in that zone kills me quickly i tried to do the first quest there after I unlocked the zone. the ghouls there just gang banged me. apparently I'm suppose to be around 11k gear rating before I attempt the place and I'm only at 8.1k
oh and the zen trade my not be dead but with a long wait like that... its in a coma.
How do sales hurt the little ppl. If you can wait for a few weeks, you get your Zen. If you cant wait, the sales are the reason, that AH prices are lower, then 110% of the prices in the Zen market. The added bonus for cryptic is, that an item bought in the AH removes 10% of the AD paid from the market.
Solution: Stop all the huge Zenshop Sales on Black Friday and Summer Event or sell those Items in wondrous bazaar, where you burn 100% AD.
You are telling Cryptic not to earn money. Nice.
Okay, another solution, just make all Zen Items accountbound. So, these people can't sell them in auction house.
No, because there are times when I'm low on wards or keys and my wife has some on her account that she's willing to give me, or vice versa. Just because people are selling things from the Zen store on the AH doesn't mean there aren't legitimate reasons to leave them unbound - and that isn't to say that selling things on the Zen store isn't legitimate, either.
Okay, but who is preventing you to buy them with zen? If the backlog is gone, it'll take you some seconds to buy them in Zen market or maybe cheaper in auction house.
I was responding to someone who said that Zen store items should be bound to account when purchased. Thus, if MY account is low or out of Zen and my wife's account has some or has a coalescence ward on a character, then I can get one from her.
I'm just trying to upgrade my companions.... costing me 500k at this point.... I only have 357k on 1 guy cause I spend all day farming the 100k to refine by doing the random that gives 1k per run. at this rate it will take me another year to get my second character's companions upgraded as well... yeah takes too damn long.
reduce the cost of basic game functions please.
Artifacts and artifact gear gives you a bigger boost to your item level than pretty much anything else in the game. It will also make you more survivable and more formidable. Unless you know you're going to be keeping those companions even once you're a much higher item level, then I would ignore those for now.

8K, not 18K. But: While Dilithium is their "Astral Diamonds", their AH doesn't run on Dil, it runs on their equivalent of gold. Selling a lockbox jackpot will make you the STO equivalent of a ton of GOLD, not Astral Diamonds.
In STO, if you want "Astral Diamonds", the ONLY way to get it is to refine it yourself (8k/day with a few ways to get an extra 500/day and 1000/3 days), or trade Zen for it. Selling on the AH gives you Gold instead.

If you are just restarting the game, you do not learn to swim by jumping in the deep end with both feet and no safety tether.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
The Zen Exchange backlog right now is 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. I've been tracking it with roughly about 5 or 6 zen buys a month. about a month and half ago it was about 7 days to wait. It really isn't that bad considering you get it for free. We are offering suggestions that have worked for us. I am sure they would get you their quicker than grinding the random queue. Guessing you are averaging 8K/hr. Max about 12k an hour if you would get the skirmishes every time.
You could drain a lot of AD if you could exchange more of them to Zen instantly. Right now you wait about 3 weeks for your Zen to get exchanged, which is just crazy. And I think in general it would barely hurt to allow people to exchange a bit more and faster. Sure, a few of the things the people could make money from but many would use the items themselves. THAT would help, if you could actually still earn an VIP from ingame witholut having to wait for ages to get it through. xD
Hmmm! You don't know how Zax works. Exchange through Zax drains 0 AD. Zax is the only mechanism in game that involves AD and has 0 AD sink. AD is just passed to another player.
well the truth is they don't need sinks at all. all they have to do is add zen to the zax themselves and it could be magically fixed over night. lol. it's not like zen is an official state currency
2. The problems with ZAX won't be fixed by the cap, only slowed. The true problem is the items bought with Zen that should have a 'in game' method of acquiring. This will leave the zen market with only the top items and a good size chunk of AD on the zax will be pulled to buy the items taken from zen to the 'bazaar' or something.
That's it! Too many players realized over the years that, if you have a huge amount of AD, it's very easy to generate much more just by playing auction house. So, they exchange their AD into Zen and waiting till the next sale is coming, buying (mostly) wards very cheap in the zenmarket and selling them, as long the backlog is rising overprized over the next monthes in auction house. Making a decent win and start the circulation again and the backlog is growing. Solution: Stop all the huge Zenshop Sales on Black Friday and Summer Event or sell those Items in wondrous bazaar, where you burn 100% AD.
wonderous bazaar is the key. don't get rid of the sales. they cant' get rid of the sales i think. it's probably a generous portion of their yearly revenue.

At level 70, if Ravenloft is your first Campaign, you are not supposed to be able to do the content alone. Some players have 13 layers of campaign boons holding them up. Most players have 3 -5 keeping them (mostly) upright-ish. The idea is to get near end-game gear & go back and blow through the campaign zones as fast as possible. That's why they call it catch-up gear.

"We're too BIG to fail!!! Now I'm going to get on my private jet & fly home to my mansion & roll around on my pile of money!"
I admit, the sales are important. And getting rid of them would hurt. But, they are part of the problem. Players have come to expect them, and rely upon them. In some cases to the point that they plan the entire year around them. That dynamic isn't healthy for the game, and should change. Not go away necessarily, but to say that it CANNOT change.... those chains are holding us all down.

All I will add to this is that most people have their mind set on the new zone area and then try it and die. I my self been there when I started this game. I tried to do cloak intro and let me tell ya I failed at that instance and died to many times I got frustrated. Now instead of asking guild or alliance for help knowing they would I decided to do the right thing. Go back and work on campaigns that I did not finish. Ones I knew I could do and not die from. Doing this got me boons and a few ranks on my enchants I was then able to do the cloak intro instance and not die. Same thing happened with chult when it released. I died a ton trying something I was not ready for. Instead of asking for help I decided to do the right thing and rank my enchants up and get what gear I could to make the zone easier and it worked. As for the AD limit 100K is not all that bad of a limit however I do feel they should revise the AD store because the price of AD for the marks that you will need gos over that 100K AD limit and it really shouldnt.

When players are new, they usually have one toon or may be two. The daily rAD refinement limit before was 36K per toon. If one has only 2 characters, their limit was 72K. 100K is already higher than before for that spectrum of players.
*** The game can read your mind. If you want it, you won't get it. If you don't expect to get it, you will. ***
I for one was hoping that the Astral Diamond limit would help, but I have noticed that all it has done is hinder most people. The current 100k per acct for refining has not lowered the cost of anything. The developers and programmer's have not even lowered the in game cost for many items like, re-roll, campaign signets etc. etc.
Most of all ( I know almost all of you have noticed) the dramatic Rise in the auction house. With the limit that was imposed makes it very hard to "play catch up" for new players or our own new characters. For instance I recently noticed Legendary mounts in a week span some went from 5.5 million to now 11 million..... that is over a 100% increase , that is not what part of the Idea of the 100k limit was for.
Yes we understand most of this Idea was to stop people from grinding, stop the AD Farmers, outside Paypal market scams and to most of all have people play more content. Its not working do to the lack of content no one now has the drive to do anything else and it has affected this game dramatically. I am sure many of the guilds have felt the drop in attendance and player participation.
Maybe this is the what our developers wanted. I hope not.
As someone who collects mounts and generally keeps up with the price of mounts, the price rise of some legendary mounts had absolutely nothing to do with the new rough AD restrictions.
The prices of mounts are determined by how many are in circulation (or at least how many are getting posted for sale) and how desirable the mount is. Whichever mount drops from the latest lockbox will be sold for the cheapest values it will ever go for while that lockbox is still dropping. After that lockbox is discontinued and people turn their attention to the next lockbox, the price of the previous boxes's legendary will rise significantly. Exactly how much that price rise is depends on how desirable the mount is. Legendaries that have mediocre passive powers and combat powers sell for around 4.9mil through 6.8mil when they are newer, once their lockbox is discontinued, the price rapidly spikes to 7mil through 8mil and later on will eventually climb to 9mil through 11mil. For the very best legendaries, those typically sell for between 8mil and 11mil when their box is still dropping. When their box gets discontinued, the price rises to 11mil through 14mil.
As for the AD cap's promised effects on the economy, its too soon to tell whether or not they will successfully lower auction house prices, PC especially has a long history of exploits and more than a few veteran players have oceans of AD at their disposal. It will take a long time for enough AD to drain out of the economy to have any noticeable effect on the market.
As for whether or not the devs plan, successful or not, will have a positive impact, that remains to be seen. The short term hurt was significant as any time a change angers this many players, it causes more people to leave. Some people only leave temporarily and come back later but the more times people are discouraged, the more chances there are for them to get fed up and quit for good.
As for drops in people's activity rate, those aren't just a result of AD nerf outrage though it may be playing a minor role. Right now, we are late into the Ravenloft release and the next module release is over a month away. Activity rates between 2 modules are always lower than normal since a lot of players have already done all the new content and get bored running the same HAMSTER over and over again. These activity dips seem to be getting worse with every passing module as well.
