Need help with a quest

shiani1shiani1 Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 316 Arc User
We have a new guild member who is also pretty new to Neverwinter. He applied for the forum, but hasn't been accepted yet, so I told him I'd pass this on and see if anyone could help. He's trying to progress in the River District campaign and is stuck on the Reclaiming River District quest. He tried repeatedly yesterday and then asked for help in the guild today and I went with him. He completed all the tasks except the final one and can't find the weapon stash. He took a screen shot of our final attempt which I'm attaching. Is there anyone who knows what is going wrong with this and can give advice so he can complete this? It would be much appreciated :) Thanks!

I am not that far along in the campaign, so... grain of salt & whatnot :pensive: Normally anything involving the sewers requires you to go down in the sewers to get /whaterver/ So, If the quest path is borked... I would check all the sewer grates to see if any of them are iteractable.

EDIT- Okay, sorry... I failed to notice the "Exit the sewers" on the map ... sorry bout that!

This quest only complete if he takes a sewer dungeoun. You can see on map where a sewer is. In there he must loot a special item.

OK, look at the zone map. You will see guard posts, next to which is a ladder. If you mouse over the ladder, it will say crypt, dungeon or sewer. Find a sewer, enter it and in the final room will be an extra interactable object which is the one you want. This is complicated by the fact that the guard posts show as quest locations so you can't mouse over them and get the tooltip telling you which is a sewer, so get a friend to come onto the map with you so they can do it.

Actually, it might be slightly more complicated than simply running a sewer digsite. With each of my four characters, I only found the Weapon Stash if I actived a digsite as a sewer using the map sold to me by the Map vendor npc in the main RD square. If I just ran an already open sewer digsite it was never there.

Thanks for your comments. We had all that covered. He used a map from the vendor and we definitely only went in the sewer dig sites. He repeatedly abandoned the quest when it didn't work and we started all over again. As you can see from the screen shot, he completed all the tasks except for the final one. The weird part is that the quest message told him to exit after we killed everything in the sewer and looted the pile, etc. But that final step was still not finished. We searched everywhere for the "weapon stash", but found nothing extra. Qexotic, when you say "activated a digsite as a sewer" do you mean it wasn't even open yet as a digsite? If that is what you mean, maybe that's the problem. We were going to digsites labeled sewers.

Thanks to all of you for your help. We figured it out today and he's on his way in the campaign again. Qexotic, your suggestion about finding a dig site that wasn't open yet worked! Thanks! :)

I've done this quest successfully in already activated sewers. There is more than one version of the sewer though so maybe one of the versions is missing the item?

I've also done this in an already activated sewer, I have however regularly had a bug in RD and instances where the extra interactable doesn't glow, but will give you an interact cursor if you mouse over it, which is REALLY irritating if it's your first time through and you don't know where it is.

I haven't had to activate a dig site to get this to work, as long as I could find a sewer. But as long as they got it working in this case, that's what really matters.

On a related note I've found that sometimes the map pile isn't interactable and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for when this happens. Maybe the same thing happened to the quest item.

@nitocris83 maybe we have some bugs in the dig sites still.

I've only noticed this when I run the "same" dig site close together. Not the guard post location, but the map template. It appears that the map interaction doesn't reset. Same thing happens with regular treasure chests if you're farming lairs in other campaign zones like Shar or DR.

The only thing that I can't interact with in that case is the pile of scrolls.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

Yeah, you get the lair reward, but not the bonus loot. It resets if you stop for a while.
