BIS Weapon Enchanment for HR

rexxarcorerexxarcore Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 7 Arc User
After the re-worked of the weapon enchanments. I am wondering which weapon enchantment will be the best for HR. Seems like Lightning weapon enchantment got a huge boost and also raise up the AD price in AH. Any comments?

Dread still tops for trappers as lightning doesn't proc off roots. Jury still out on combat, depending on how PB and the capstone work with lightning procs.

    Universal, Vorpal.

That is if you're thinking about swapping builds around occasionally, and not being Trapper for life.

It'd be helpful if you give a little more information about your build and paragon. If you're Trapper, Vorpal/Dread are still good choices as Thorned Roots do not proc Weapon Enchants. I mention Vorpal as it might outperform Dread on a Pathfinder Trapper as Dread obviously doesn't boost Careful Attack or dailies.

If you're on PC, load up Preview and test for yourself. If you're on one of the consoles or unable to load Preview for whatever reason, share your build and I'll be happy to do a bit of testing for you.

I don't have space for preview on my old pc, if someone could test lightning on a 100% crit build combat pathfinder I'd be eternally grateful.

So weapon enchantments don't proc on DOT's for the HR or the SW but they do for the CW? How does that make any sense? Just another way they hold the HR back and limit build versatility.

Any tried lightning on combat Its working great on every other class even seen an OP did 8mill out of 45 mil on his lightning last night and with a CW in CN he tuned up to 248mil with lightning doing a solid 80 mil but I believe he was using some kind of bug he melted every thing. DWF are just doing insane with it as well

The problem is every time they have tried to make WE's work with HRs, something goes wrong and we start destroying things. In order to prevent that, it seems they significantly limit how WE's work with our skills - probably to prevent another Gushing Wound/LOL set problem.

I'm not good at testing, but from the above, I may switch to Vorpal from Dread. Careful Attack is a lot of damage for me, so I could see it maybe being better overall than Dread.

So far I've heard Fey and Lightning don't work real well with HRs...not sure about Bilethorn (the new FOTM it seems). As someone said above, I'm so tired of Soulforged and Vorpal/Dread that I'd use something else just for a change of pace.....

feytouch gets bugged (proc goes on cd but the buff is off) with some hr powers: cordon of arrow, thornward are a couple

Yup, looks like we're stuck. My guildie tested the new ones out on preview for both combat and trapper... Vorp/dread still the best. Pff.

If you read other forums for classes you can see that there are enchants out performing vorpal and dread on hrs. I dont know which enchants they are, but there are definitely better (maybe buggy?) choices it seems. Pve anyway

Edited because I left a part of a sentence out and spelling.

I saw something posted in the TR forums. The reply was very vague all it said was saw a HR in MSVA kill my groups damage using one of these enchants had 200 mil and 2nd had 40 mil.

    Didn't state which enchant either.

Could that be the CritSev potion bug instead?

No as Crit Sev bug isn't/wasn't on PC AFAIK.

Without ruling that out, I'd be very skeptical that it was because of the weapon enchant.

If they used crit severity glitch they would have had around 1 billion damage and the next person with about 10 million. Definitely not the case here.

My CW does 300 million in MSVA. Not sure what the fuss is about. The HR was the only high dps in the group.

Relatively speaking, my GF could theoretically do 900 mil damage... if all the other DPSers sucked and we needed to repeat the raid 4 times.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure that the next highest DPSers took a dirt nap, which is why the scores look so inflated.

And on topic: anybody got any weapon enchant advice for HRs, specifically a SW Combat HR?

I don't play my HR much, so I put a G Plague I had lying about on my HR.
I hear good things about Holy Avenger and Vorpals (I have a spare P. Holy Avenger lying around)... any advice/opinions?

On a pathfinder Combat I think Vorpal is the best one overall. I tested Vorpal and Lightning in preview with a friend and although Lightning outperformed Vorpal on mobs by 2-3 ℅ it was way behind on bosses (we duo'd CN a few times).
On Trapper it's still Dread except the usual cases where Careful Attack shines (Tiamat, Dragons, eDemo, SVA) and Vorpal gets better and better.

Is Careful attack actually this good for Pathfinder Trapper? I'm running mainly Stormwarden Trapper.

And another question - is Dread actually that much better for Pathfinder? I wanted to try combat HR but I can't afford Vorpal, I run with trans dread at the moment.

Not so much careful attack alone, but in conjunction with gushing wound. Crit with both and watch a fountain of huge red numbers spring out of your enemy's head. If you're also buffed by a GF or a D.C., or both.... then that's pretty much the paingiver right there. Combat makes it even better.

Dread is better for a PF Trapper in small groups (5) or alone. In large groups (Tia, Dragons) Careful Attack becomes my largest contributor to damage. In Tia you can pretty much activate Master Trapper, use Longstrider and apply CA and get to the top 3 of the damage board. If you move forward and use Gushing right after it's even better.
