Volcanic Galeb Nerf?

I spent actual money during a promotion to get the Volcanic Galebs on two of my characters (Cerulean Parvanue and Krymson Ferret). They have been purple level 35 pets since my purchase. As of Tuesday after the new mod dropped they have both been nerfed to green. It doesn't seem fair that items I spent real life money gets nerfed because they are now more readily available in game.

    I am relatively certain this is unintended, but an obnoxious oversight, which I have included in the sticky bug thread already. And it has impacted players who paid to obtain the old companion type.

    The epic promotional Volcanic Galeb Dhur (Duhr? I can never recall) had the same active bonus as the one from the Zen shop.

    The uncommon Cloaked Ascendancy VGD has an active bonus for additional damage against Nostura's minions.

    They've used the object ID from the old VGD when making the new one, so there can't be two different types of VGD, and the old ones were all transformed into the new type.

    (Using multiple object IDs for identical items is why we end up with things like BtA scrolls of life that won't stack onto each other, btw.)

    @nitocris83 Calling this out separately as it's a customer service issue in addition to a bug.

    I actually just noticed that the active bonus was different. If I don't get my old one back with it's PAID FOR bonus I want my money I spent on it back. I will be contacting the accounting department Monday.

    Do you have any plans to stand behind your promotion? How about an opportunity to replace what I used to have with another of my choice instead of having an inferior one forced upon me.

    Why would you change a pet that people had to pay for? Why didn't you just make a new one instead of cheating us?

    you can pick one or more answers!
    * because it's covered in the TOS
    * because they can
    * because they don't know what they are doing
    * because it's your problem, not theirs
    * because you already bought it, no backsies
    * because of Quantum
    * because solar flares realigned the magnetic orientation of the companion storage area and fried your companions brains.

    But in the end, all answers are frustrating :-(

    Ultimately....it's because they don't care. Never have...never will. Too bad I enjoy the game so damn much. That being said, they will not get another cent from me as I will not support liars and cheats.

    If you wanted a pet with the active bonus you put in place of the one on the Volcanic Galeb...why not make one instead of rendering mine (and others) useless?
