i doubt there will be an enhanced version.... with PSPro i doubt very many games that are out allready will be remade, you probably only have some new titles to look forward too..... im too poor for a 4k tv so i will stick with my upgraded reg ps4 with 2tb hd
Yes, I wondered this too my guess is that it will be identical. Eurogamer and IGN report that existing games run identically unless they have received a specific PS4 Pro patch - which Neverwinter hasnt

I really, really hoped for FPS improvements. shame on you Arc, or Cryptic, or whoever decided to let us with unplayable Tiamat and almost unplayable Dragon farm.
Technically you will see some improvements over the standard PS4 with a PS4 Pro; however, if the game is not optimize to use those extra hardware you won't see all that much for improvements in the game. The Pro system may provide some improvements to rendering and loading of an area, similar to how a SSD would improve those items. With a SSD and Pro, you may get some improvement in the 0-10% in loading and rendering content if any.
If you buy the PS4 Pro you want the games to run in 4K, at least the ones you play and if this is your primary game, don't waste your money on a PS4 Pro or 4K TV just yet.
Same goes for every Ps4 games, the devs need to release a patch for HDR/4K.
Without that patch, the ps4 pro use only half its power to match normal ps4 rendering.
Neverwinter is a f2p (haha) with objective of making maximum money without listenning to it's community and not fixing anything that should have been fixed years ago.
So will Cryptic spend one dollar to provide us a better experience wiyh ps4 PRo.
Trust me there absolutely 0% chance of that happening !
It's been a week since i can't play Tiamat because of ridiculous lag, not mentionning well of dragons or Demo...
So running 4k hdr on such technical failure will be like giving fine cheese to monkeys.
Winter is coming with very nice games or existing games enhanced to 4k and Neverwinter will die fast because Cryptic don't care at all.

My decision to not buy the PS4 pro was that it did not have a HDR drive. Why should I upgrade if the system can't even let me play 4K movies from disc. Epic Failure by Sony that can be fixed by adding the HDR drive.

Well, I do not think HDR means what you think it means. :) You mean 4K Blu-ray drive, HDR is something else.
But back on topic, I think they should really do some effort here and do the patch. It is apparently easy to switch on basic PS4Pro support, and, as we all know, there are fights in this game that would really benefit from few more frames per second. Do it, Arc Games! :=)
null You are absolutely right...Back when ps3 was released it really help to sell blu ray and it would have helped a lot to be able to play 4k bluray on ps4 pro. Some specialist says that it's pretty easy to update firmware for playing 4k discs.
Wait and see i supose...
Sony explains the lack of 4k drive by promoting streaming...
This is BS, you need and insane connexion to be able to stream 4k/uhd.

Yea, Sony got so burned on PS3 Bluray costs, and on general PS3 "All in One Entertainment" philosophy, so in PS4-Age it always puts "Gaming first" message in the front. Works for them so far, so they stick to it even in cases where it is not really beneficial, like UHD drive inclusion.
The thing is go get a group of every day people and put them in front of two system.
1) High quality 1080P home theater system at 55" 2) High quality 4K home theater system at 55"
At 55" to 37" 1080p vs 4K the average consumer that is not a video fanatic won't notice the finer details. Just like comparing 1080P to 720P on 32" sets. You can't see the difference all that much.
Now if you go 55"+ system than you want to go with a 4K TV as that will impact the visuals.
Most consumers are buying TVs in the 50-60" range. If you are buying at TV that is not at least 55"+ don't bother with 4K. You wont' really see the difference. Buy a high quality 1080P set and you will be just as happy.
Now the PS4 plays high quality videos at 1080P which will satisfy most consumers.
Most gamers I know who were big into gaming when the PS3 launchers were still using CRT TVs and did not upgrade to 1080p. I had a 1080p set the day I bought the PS3, at launch. A few years later I bought a very high end sony system that was around 2K in pricing and still use that today for my PS4. It is a 50" set. I compared my set to the 4K sets that are around the same sizes. I don't notice enough to justify buying a new TV yet.
If I do buy a new TV I'm looking at sets in the 55"+ range and 4K sets.
No onto the whole high dynamic range (HDR) topic.
HDR is the standard for 4K. Meaning if you want the best from a 4K set you should be buying TVs and drives that have the new standard; however, companies like Samsung and Sony are using their own naming to brand their product but the technology produces the same results.
Also, HDR BD disc are all the new rave now along with drives and TVs that support them. PS4 Pro does not have a HDR disc drive. Meaning I cannot buy a HDR BD disc and watch it on the PS4 Pro. With the PS4 Pro you can stream 4K movies but not watch them on disc.
If you want a gaming console that can play HDR BD disc buy an Xbox 1 S.
IMO only buy a PS4 Pro if you plan to play 4K game or stream 4K content and have a 55"+ TV. Otherwise stick with the standard PS4.
I own a Ps4 Pro. So to break down in simple terms how the PS4 Pro works it runs in 2 different modes. The first mode is just the standard PS4 mode. Run the exact same way a regular PS4 would run. Then PS4 Pro mode which runs with the extra power that the PS4 Pro provides. All games that do not support PS4 Pro day 1 or have had a patch to support PS4 Pro just run in basic PS4 mode. So Neverwinter runs exactly the same on a PS4 Pro. BUT the game can run much better if Cryptic decides to release a patch to enable Neverwinter to run in Pro mode. So I say to you Cryptic... Please release a patch to support PS4 Pro but dont worry about 4k. Just use the much added extra power of the pro to make the game run smoother. Thank You.
I honestly couldn't care less about graphics and that. But Neverwinter really suffers from FPS drops. I don't need stable 60, but my gaawd sometimes it is just unplayable mess. So I would really appreciate if they manage to utilize that extra horse power
> @metalicum1 said: > No ps4 pro needed to improve performance. Give everyone the option to turn off or down down other players spell effects and fps will sky rocket. > > I would be 100% satisfied with that.
I'm only about 50% agreeing with this. Look at what happens in Protectors Enclave. No one's casting spells there and you still have some serious frame rate issues. this game can benefit from both turning off particle effects and utilizing more powerful hardware.

Sure, Enclave is staggering and it is painful to our eyes and brains, but at least there is no combat so it doesn't negatively affects my performance in the game. Of course, more graphics options and utilizing hardware would be awesome, but I have no hopes.
I suspect it's more Cryptics hardware than yours - these issues exist on all 3 platforms.

I don't know what it looks like on pc. But I know what it looks like on xbox vs ps4 and people complain here and I'm sure there is a bit of YMMV.. but ps4 is WAYYYYY Better than xbox in my experience. I think it's a little bit cryptic and a little bit hardware. yeah frame rate is worse than other games but I've had like two experiences on ps4 where it was unplayable due to frame rate issues and I just got used to unplayable framerate issues on xbox it was so bad.
A Tiamat run or the Dragon run in Well of Dragons are both horrible performance wise - at times I am lucky to get 5 frames per second. They really should do something about optimising areas with lots of players.

They do but players find ways to get into areas that are already full by being in groups and leaving the area they are in and going into that area. It happens pretty regularly. I was in one map with 19 players, near max and at the dragon I was fighting I counted 22 players including myself. The only way other players could get in is by being in groups. Having that many players in the instance made my frame rate drop and eventually a few of us was kicked out of the game due to an error.
We need a patch to use the xtra power of the updated ps4 the ps4 pro. I am ok with the graphics just unlock the xtra power to help with fps please! It drops frames bad when in a battle with guildies and that's the funnest times you can have being hindered by slowdown.
i have a friend who wants to play but physically cant bc of the low FPS. It gives him headache to play this game. I think he says he gets about 24FPS. I think if they could get it to around 30-35 it would be great.
They should just use the extra power of the Pro for a better Framerate. Image Quality is good enough for me but that framerate can be a funkiller at times.
Hope they bring a Pro Patch, just use the extra performance for better framerates. Image Quality is okay for me but the framerate is horrible at times.

Well, the games looks higher res on PS4 Pro and 4K TV after the 10.5 patch. Chat box text is much sharper and easier to read, great improvement, imo. Thanks, devs!

Did they mention any Ps4 Pro improvements in the Patch Notes? I´m playing on a 1080p Screen and a friend on a 4k Screen and we both have a Pro. We couldn´t see any improvements so far.

Any plans to have an enhanced version of Neverwinter for PS4 Pro?
