Please free up our duplicate companions

I got a second Black Ice Prospector and Lillend today at the festival, but as they are bound to my character I will just have to delete them. If they were bound to account then I could use them on other characters. Such a waste.

Companions you can't delete?? Which ones?

I was mistaken. I was thinking of duplicate mounts--like Neverwinter Champion Charger. I did get a duplicate of Staldorf, but was able to delete him.

Kind of a waste isn't it, to go through the effort to get something only to have to immediately delete it (or wait for the devs to allow people to delete them) because it can't be traded, given away, or auctioned off...

I'm not sure how much things like this add to the entertainment value of the game for others, but personally I certainly don't find it entertaiining... * 'Buy Starlight Parcels (with real money) - then have to delete the items dropped (lumens, companions, mounts, etc.) because they are bound... That's not my definition of fun - or an investment that beggs to be repeated.

You make a good point about the parcels, people are paying money for most of them. The rewards should not be character bound.

Well they did create a trade-in vendor for the Lostmauth set. They could create a similar vendor for companions in the Grand Emporium. Another option might be creating a wizard who can work "unbinding magic" for a hefty fee in the Sage Shop.

The gift from the parcels are not character bound.
The gift that you get from star bag (from somebody else) is.

I hope you did not delete the Prospector before you get the lesser bonding from it.

    Nope.
I got the Staldorf companion several times from the daily parcels/zen shop pack parcels on different characters, and those are bop.
Anyway, i allready deleted some of them, have a few left in inventories, hoping they will fix them to at least bta.

Staldorf is the special one. It is the only one which is bound to character that I know of. I think it is because it is "born this way". :)

Probably stupid question, but - can you get the bonding from the companion without naming it and adding to your companion list? Two reasons I ask - 1. I have an unbound companion with a lesser bonding stone, would like to grab the bonding and sell the companion. 2. I have a bound, duplicate companion with a lesser bonding stone, didn't think you could have two of the same companion in your idle list

For the first question. No, you cannot. You have to sell it with the stone.
For the 2nd question. Make your existing idle (go to the inventory). Bring up your new bound companion. Take out the lesser bonding stone.
You can put two or more identical companion in your idle list. I have many in mine. I have not bothered to delete them until I need the room for other companion.

You have to name the companion to access the slotted rune.

Not being able to sell the companion is moot if the companion is character-bound already. Multiple of the same type of companion can be idle, just not active.

OK, thanks @plasticbat @beckylunatic I didn't know you could have multiples in the idle list, and bummer that I can't get sell that unbound one and keep the bonding, but since I can still get the bonding, I can deal. :)

The developers are aware of this and working on a fix. @nitocris83 has been following the issue within Cryptic.

A fix to make them BtA would be welcome  (in case any devs are reading this).
