It doesnt matter if its Cryptics problem or Cryptics fault. Its not the players problem or the players fault either. The fact is that Cryptic promised the players a certain amount of event time. If outside circumstances prevent the event lasting as long as was promised, they must extend it. Failure to do so MAKES it their problem and their fault.
So should i blame you for snow on my car and hold you responsible for shoveling the snow away ?
LOL you ever heard of something being rained out, or snowed out? that really should say it all, but I feel like you need more explanation. See, its all about value, if a problem that interrupts your service arrives, you make a cost vs gain alalysis. If the cost of a postponement exceeds the perceived gains of said postponement, they dont do a postponement. So, how much does cryptic pay you to deter ppl requiring them to make cost analysis decisions in favor of the people?
So i cant blame the weather on you then who's fault is it im loosing value cause i cant get to work and earn money i blame you now do something about it... thats basicly what you're trying to explain as in a huge part of the web going down is somehow cryptics fault and because you lost value because of that cryptic should somehow be held responsible and compensate you for that.. please go on to sput your great knowledge very interesting how some pepole view logic..
I hnestly had some difficulty understanding what you were trying to say, I guess they are recruiting non-english speakers to be cryptic appologists at this point, but thats okay. I will dumb it down for you. Value = inhernent or perceived. Inherent is, like food! GOOD FOOD! FOOD GOOD! Perceived = Not necessary, but WANT! WANT REAL BAD! Do I need to elaborate more?
You do know if your flagged enough your wish to be ban can happen ?
First response on twitter >>> We're aware of the server issues with all three platforms and are working on it. At this time, maintenance has been delayed. scellestus, I am sure you have done as well as possible on your account in Neverwinter, but remember to chill, smell the flowers, and remember sometimes you get lemons, so make lemonade
This is a generalized map. I am in West Coast under one of the yellow areas. I have no problem connecting to other games, steam, and many other sites. Facebook fine, Twitter fine.
It Cryptic, otherwise more Internet Entities would be down.
You'll note the reported outages all trace back to routers owned by Level3 Communications. The internet is elastic, it was designed to survive nuclear war. Major services use geographically distributed nodes. It's almost impossible to bring them down. Clearly Cryptic's server cluster is sitting straight outside a Level3 hub. It's an MMO, and we're all on the same mega-server. There is no practical reason to put the physical drives in multiple locations.
You mean apart from the simple reason Blizzard etc have backup farms for when there is either hub downage or DDOS attacks? Or in case of a cable loss? Or who knows, to provide a bit of excess server load to speed up ALL their games?
There are several practical reasons to have even a small scale throttled backup somewhere never mind a proper 1:1 mirror, but hey that would require spending on things like actual hardware and folk to run it, and maybe if in the EU some actual stff that run on international time scales?
lol comparing Cryptic to Blizzard.
Good one buddy.
Hey... that's not fair. I've got to compare them to something that doesn't get hamstered out so why not a company that shows how to do things like goodwill gestures, proper communication and server resumption/planned downtime?
same here, and suport tab here on web also down, not loading page to report the problem lol lol lol sto wont load either ,seems like a ARC problem not just NWN

no, because I didnt promise your smart HAMSTER a snow-free car or anything of the sort.

Actually they DONT have to extend anything...just like they CAN revoke your account anytime.
Nowhere in Any of the Licensing Agreements does it say "Event ended/crashed/boondoggled early, we at Cryptic have to give whiny self-entitled babies more time...along with their safe-spaces, coloring books, and cookies"
Get over it...
honestly they can revoke my account any time they like, and they can revoke everyone's account anytime. would that be in their interest though? likewise, they dont have to extend anything, but would that be in their interest?
obviously I am not saying they put anything of the sort in the Licensing Agreement or whatever (after all, the only thing they are capable of doing is making sure to avoid any kind of liability), but any company worth the name would have the basic human decency to extend the event in such situation. after all, it costs them absolutely nothing to extend it (in fact they would gain positive feedback), while the consequences on the players would be pretty bad if they dont extend it (and consequently they get negative feedback). so the logical conclusion is they must extend the event, even if the outing was not their fault from the start. even if they had no control over the outing, they have full control over how they handle the situation, and handling it poorly is noone elses fault but theirs.
what I do wonder though, is what do you two numbnuts stand to gain by defending such a company, and advocating their "right" to keep on HAMSTER us over... if you were trying to suggest that you're both on their payroll, stop trying - mission achieved!
PS: so the server is online... of course, without extending the event... how dare we expect such a thing, those poor devs had nothing to do with the outing, they were too busy trying to figure out how to screw us and who to hire to come here and explain to us that they arent HAMSTER us....
Still down for me as well!!! That and sitting on 11k zen I couldn't spend because this HAMSTER happened when I get home from work. Awesome job. Hopefully they give a day this weekend for the events again!
Anybody able to run a dungeon but not be in group. It's happened to one of my characters and I'm unable to collect the ADs at the end. I have other characters that have no problems. Only started today after I changed characters and was unable to get a server. (About two hours ago)
:( All day.. down. We know it's down, but I wanted to express my disappointment at the fact. As a brand new player, between maintenance/launcher issues/miniature giant space hamster 'incidents'(You know Boo is a little scamp.)... the game has worked far less than it should.... I must say, I am disappointed.
I lost my account. My player name doesn't even exist anymore, either my lv 62 character. 5 years of game just gone with a HAMSTER hacker attack
