    I must be from another planet as I had never heard of hamsters in D&D until this game came along

    Edit:yup another planet as I missed this forum entry about ....

    Ummm... what do you think the little companion is, that the crazed "ranger" is talking to?

    This goes way back to Baldur's Gate... a video game in the Forgotten Realms. This is D&D, but it the Forgotten Realms

    In Baldur's Gate... the old school game he was a 'Ranger'... but he was a berserker... who was the bodyguard to a Rasheman Witch. She was killed after the first game... before the Throne of Bhaal game.
