You can see the effect every day, since nerfing and fixing the glitching. How many groups do you see running Epic Cragmire or Gray Wolf?
I reckon half their problem with connection is due to the remaining players grouping on less and less content stressing those servers that host those instances, at least WOD is no longer a wasteland (even though there is no point in running it once you have all your boons).
Amen to that sleepy725. I've opened up thousands of lock boxes in my time gotten one Epic companion and one Epic mount that's it. I don't even know what a +5 ring looks like LOL best thing I ever got in a dungeon was the horn of blasting back when it was good LOL and I basically play every single day run all the content everyday and still get HAMSTER I was up to about 13000 volleys got maybe 30 or 40 mithral tickets out of all that which equal ed garbage. 13 refinement stones was all I ended up with plus some stuff for my guild coffer so I essentially gave up hoping for anything good so anything I get I pay for with astral diamonds not real money lol
They fixed the sasha ball exploit/bug within 24 hours (or something) but took them freaking 11 months (since mod6) to fix the tiamat hoard reclamation. They still havent figured out how to fix the gwf unstoppable bug and many other broken stuff/things in game. No ! they are busy nerfing classes haha.... kinda sad if you ask me.
And now to throw salt in the wound guilds are have issues already with the new update and it only took less then 2 hours lol but they couldn't give us a event this past weekend b c they needed to prepare? Well seems they should have prepared more lol oh and best part? They STILL didn't update the calendar like they said they were going to do.
I agree that the game has been extremely quiet. A lot of my friends list has moved on to other games and the general population has been a few new characters over long time players. A lot of the people I see come on are for minimal time when needed before swapping to another game. The numbers VS time spent in game is data I'd love to see. For those who like to read wordy posts:
Community: 1. The guild update made the Q system longer, along with the broken aspect of it. If you aren't in a group and don't have a support class, the wait can be upwards of 40 minutes. 2. Expanding on first point, this means less time with randoms to get to know and enjoy the game with. This is what kept the game fresh. Alliances will help some, but not for long. Grouping people up to do Dragons(painful) is limited so its all on what else you can join in on.
Content: 1. Some of the best dungeons were removed, limiting content variety. EtoS is a necessary evil for loot and pink seals, but I loathe it. Grey Wolfs Den... Just no. Maze Engine skirmishes are grindy and boring, so it's really Kessels or Shores for daily AD. 2. Campaign missions are drawn out to add the appearance of more content when it's not. It just makes the boons look not as appealing to try for and kills the enjoyment of the game.
Loot Drop: 1. The drop rate for items seems to have taken a nerf. The LM Horn, for example. I have yet to see the Orcus Wand drop on any run I have been a part of. 2. +5 Rings are a complete waste to even try for. It's not even like you can sell the item to give reasoning for the low chance.
Progression Beyond 3K: 1. If you weren't here prior to all the nerfs/adjustments and don't want to spend money, consider the road straight up. The items locked behind RNG are not even worth counting on. 2. Gear and weapons locked behind group activities (Edemo, Dragon Flight, Siege) means it's going to be rough to gear up. Add that you have to have a key to open boxes, progression is behind a pay wall for some.
Making AD: 1. People who are starting off now are going to be struggling. Before you could count on a Profession pack to at least get you return on your money. An Epic tool or worker was solid. Make some clothing, etc... and have AD to spend. Now it's the booby prize and not worth more than gold to a vendor. 3. Upcoming changes to invoking mean shelving alts progression. I have multiple alts I have been working on and the AD from my prayers has been helping me to keep current and progress to where they are all viable in a dungeon/skirmish. My main is a CW, so pugging anything means long wait times. My GF and Cleric gives me a chance at getting into a Q as well as friends being able to swap out their characters. This means choosing which character to progress based on the accessibility of content, and not necessarily on what character I prefer.
Group Content Shelving: 1. Tiamat tier system was finally fixed, but it took so long most don't even bother. For instance, we didn't even hit T4 last week because of the extreme slow down in the game, makes running it less likely. 2. Black Ice seems to be a waste of time, especially since the new content makes it moot. For what you had to do to get there, I am hoping they tie it in somehow. 3. Edemo has been on the decline since people received their Twisted Set and gave up on the +5 rings. Again, this means newer players will struggle to get the set as well as not pay for keys for all the silver runs.
PvP and You: 1. Premade groups have made PvP pretty painful at times. Again it's Pugging VS trying to find a dream team. If I happen to be in a group where the opposing team is losing without much of a battle, we wait til they cap and hit 100. Sadly there aren't that many premades who do that. 2. Siege and IWD have been all but ruined with the broken active companion bonuses. I have no idea why they'd allow this to continue. Simply removing the bonus when flagged for PvP VS nerfing the companion would make sense. I can't tell you how many times I've been a victim of companion kills. It's removing the enjoyment for those who don't use broken mechanics and want to progress, keep the game fresh. 3. Having someone with ZERO tenacity trying for gear be put in with a premade makes even trying useless. I loathe suggesting any changes to the Q system, but it seems like the only way to get people to continue to strive for their gear.
Lastly, Communication Issues with Developers, Community Managers, etc... 1. The Twitter account has been made all but useless by the bot. I used to go on there for updates as well as read through people's posts to see if they had work around for issues, etc... The majority of players I've spoken to say that it's to push down negative feedback and make it all but useless to use as a means of communication. I have leaning towards this. 2. Disconnect between the platforms and their individual needs. Yes, I know it's been acknowledged, but the upcoming changes mean it doesn't matter. The XBox community has been treated like an afterthought. No calendar events, MONTHS (or was it over a year) to address the broken Tiamat tier, no word on the other game experience issues etc... But the ball glitch was patched within hours. No bots but the AD changes mirror the PC. 3. Broken trust with no attempts work with the customers on ways to improve communication beyond posting here/on Reddit and hoping for some sort of feedback.
Yup I completely agree well I might be just a matter of time for the PS4 players get pissed off with this game too and I'm sure they have people monitoring these posts and still nobody can explain why they can't give us an event or at least put it up on the freaking calendar
Odessa I thought I had two cents and you brought the whole roll lol. Yeah keep this thread going and hopefully some devs read it for suggestions. They could do a lot for this game with very little effort.
It's very easy if PWE wants to make boatloads of cash to keep the player base we have, bring back vets who quit, and attract newer players.
1. For PvP fix the match making issues so 5v5 premades get matched with other premades and item level, and solo and duo quers get matched with other solo and duo quers.
2. For PVE, create a damage and support leader boards by classes. If they did this it would encourage those who aren't geared out to spend money (that's what PWE wants), and it would add an extra incentive to PVE since we no longer have much incentives with the bound to acct loot drops.
3. Bring back the missing mod 5 dungeons as epics.
4. Create more 5v5 dom maps as Zero said, and everything else he mentioned.
It doesn't take a marketing genius to figure out what will make the player base happy and put more money into the coffers at PWE.

Bahahaha! Lunch + computer - relief worker = wordy post.
I really am glad you posted this, Zero. PG has always been dear to me and the only way this game will continue for those of us who have been there from the start is to voice the need for progression and open communication.
The people who are willing to put money into the game are those who progressed enough to see the potential. The newer players are being forced to either pay cash or quit once they hit 70. Most will leave. The idea that you hit 70 and suddenly... WALL is the experience the PS4 crowd is going to get. Before there was a balance between time VS money. It seems the game is geared towards choking the player to either pay up or get out.
I used to play Defiance way back when, and there was a turn over of sorts in terms of teams. The Community Managers had the same missteps to deal with, except they turned it around to be a welcome format to discuss changes and ideas. it doesn't seem to be the same with this game.
Played this game since its release and I have always loved playing it, but the more I play it now the more I am starting to realize how many issues there really are with this game. I could sit here and list off all the issues with the game but the top two that frustrate me the most are that I've run hundreds of castle never and edemo and skirmishes and never seen a plus five and same with lockboxes, opened over a thousand and best I've ever got is an epic mount pack from glorious and I constantly see guildies who barely play get stuff everyday. As for the topic of patches it is very evident that they only patch things that effect their wallet, a year to patch Tiamat cause it was hardly being ran so ehhh why bother fixing it, then with Sahha balls they instantly fix it on a Sunday night, probably even had to drive back into work just to push the patch through, so once again they only patch something that affects their wallet which as a whole doesn't make sense cause you would make more money if you patched things players care about because then those players would stick around and spend more money but hey I'm no economics genius
Well it basically is a what can you do for me now world so yeah they're thinking about their wallet right now and they know that PS4 players are going to Fork over tons of money so they really don't care now. I know what you mean about Guild members who barely play get stuff all the time I've been playing since almost the beginning same thing for me I don't even know what + 5 ring looks like LOL so I essentially gave up thinking I'm never going to get anything good so now I buy everything I need by making stuff through professions and selling it
Ya I mean you just lose hope and the motivation to play when you don't get anything to drop which is why I believe this game is somewhat dying and losing dedicated players. Almost like having a job for a year that told you they pays 80k and at the end of the year their like here's 10k lol

Whilst I relate to your frustrations, that analogy is just terrible.
The whole point of mmo's is often the grind, if you get everything immediately then you lose interest just as soon so its a real fine balancing act. But +5 rings & amazing pick-ups from the lockboxes are supposed to be rare & unfortunately that means the vast majority of the games community will never get them.
The game is dying because of how we are clearly being treated as third class citizens after the more established PC & new PS4 communities. They need to seriously spread the love because a number of decisions over last year has turned away so many dedicated (and more importantly, paying) customers.
There is grind and then there is neverwinter grind. There is no grind for legendary mounts. Because they are behind both a pay and rng wall. I have played since the second month. I don't mind grinding if I can see an end. However the rng is ridiculous and encourages people to quit. I have a 3500 GS SW, so it isn't like I haven't grinded or spent money. But guess what still no legendary mount. Still no plus 5 rings. Still no artifacts. Still no companions from boxes. I don't mind spending a little money here and there(200) in the last year. But I would also like to see something for my money. Today I opened 200 lock boxes, I got literally nothing I could use or sell. I did get a few enchant packs and a few pet packs. That was just today, at a dollar a key that is 200 bucks with nothing to show. Cost to benefit in this game is ridiculous
@drama if you haven't noticed the steady decline of players you need to open your eyes. Queues are getting longer and longer. A lot of quality players who spend money already left the game a long time ago. Regardless of what you may think about spending money on this game...that's what keeps the lights on.
So... what you're saying is that people who paid lots of money to skip playing now have nothing to do and are moving on? It's almost like you shouldn't pay cash to skip gameplay if you want the game to stay interesting.

Hyperthetical: what if they don't care about long term loyal players. Think about it those players know all that has happened, they know that you used to be able to make enough ad each day that being f2p and progressing at a decent rate was very viable. What if they just want new players to come in buy starter packs mount, packs, xp packs and buy rp from zen market to make use of the almost spam like 2xrp plus buying character slots to try out different classes. Then when they hit 70 and have played for a bit they too realise how you are able to earn less and less rad due to changes and feel the pain tactics employed by PW and the devs so they too leave ready for the next wallet carriers.
@telprydain if you play pvp it's pay to play. You have no chance against a 4K team unless you have a similar team or they are just trash. It would take you years and prayers to the RNG gods to get 4K without paying. Mod 5 there were a lot of loot items you could sell and then turn around and progress your character...not so much anymore. I have 3 4K characters and mainly pvp now. I did enjoy pve a lot more in mod 5 with all the dungeons to run and potential of getting a decent drop to sell. That was when CN used to be hard.
You know what's hilarious? Half the stuff these people do are via glitches and/exploits. How do they not get fixed? I get its a free game but still, many people spend thousands of dollars on it, the company does well, trust me.
Why does it take months and months and months to fix exploits and glitches?
Imagine Madden 17 drops and there's a glitch where of you put your punter as your kicker field goals are worth 10 points instead of the normal 3 points. How long would it take EA to fix it? A couple hours? A day or two at most?
Imagine NBA2K17 comes out and you put point guard Steph Curry as a center on your starting lineup. Magically Steph Curry's rating goes from 96 to 96,000? Literally can shoot anywhere on the court and it goes in EVERY time! Try and dribble past Curry? Nah. His 100,000 steal rating lets him steal the ball everytime no matter what you do. How long until 2k fixes this? A few hours? A day or two maybe?
Bottom line, step your game up Arc/PW. You're losing fans and players faster than people can count and yes, I know the company doesn't care either way so in the end it's whatever.

That is exactly why it takes them so long to fix thos charcter bugs, people spend money getting the 'current bugged/glitched' class up to a high IL just to then have it 'fixed' so the next OP class trait/bug/glitch can take over and get more money.
