Hello, I patched preview today and take a look at first changes done to SW, there isn't much done yet and I still hope they improve the cast times and tweak it a bit but I still like what I see here.
General feats: - Soul Reaping increase life steal by 1%/2%/3% instead of increasing life steal rating by 1,5/3/4,5 per character level.
Fury. - Killing Curse does 15% of weapon damage when attacking cursed target up from 5%, - Daughter's Promises - when slay cursed target, you deal 100% of your weapon damage as necrotic damage to 3 targets nearby the slain one. Buff but still useless. - Critical Promise does 50% of weapon damage when criting up from 10%
Damnation (the perma ghost SWs) - Parting Blasphemy does 50% of weapon damage when curse is suspended up from 6% - Syphoning Curse, when you kill cursed target, the slayer of that target is healed for 100% weapon damage for 3 seconds, it used to heal just once. - Sparkbinder gives Immolation Spirits 25% of your hit points, it didn't do that previously, - Spiritfire hits for 75% of weapon damage everything in an AoE around the ghost, up from 50%, - Mocking Spirit increase ghost HP by 50% of your hit points, it didn't do that. - Wrathful Souls siphon some damage done by ghost healing warlock (10% of damage done). - Relentless Curse - when curse is removed from the target you have 20/40/60/80/100 % chance to afflict lesser curse on target.
Temptation - Hope Stealer, increases your life steal chance and rating by 5%, huge buff, up from 700 life steal rating on level 70, rank 5, works same on crit and for 4 seconds. - Aura of Cruelty has increased radius to 50' up from 20' Core class components: - Shadow Slip grants 60% damage resistance upon activation, this value decreases by harshly 5% every 0.5 second till it drops to 40% where it stops dropping. The power still ignores control effects though.
Class features reworked:
Shadow Walk - base run speed increase is by 10% and life steal and deflection by 2% then 2.5% every rank, + life steal & deflection chance +1%, movement speed increase is 17,5% down from 40%[/color] Dark One's Blessing - heals when the cursed target dies and, life steal chance and severity is increased by 4% + 2% every rank.
Power Changes:
- Brood of Hadar - significant increase in damage, - Dreadtheft - damage resistance debuff is -5% per rank of DT up from -3%, if DT is cast on perma curse such as WB or TT and it hits one target it will give only 1x DT stack not 5x like it does now. 2 targets would give two stacks, 3 targets hit that has curse on would give 3 stacks. I don't think it possible to go beyond this, unless last one is TT, read below. - Tyrannical Threat is a target based spell, it doesn't change your warlock curse icon to tyrannical, it can be cast on a single target and will spread damage from that target on. HUGE NERF ON PVE WARLOCKS. - Immolation Spirits - they now have 50% chance on attack to give soul spark. - Blades of Vanquishied Armies - each rank grants +5% deflection chance for BoVA duration. - Hadar's Grasp - when casted on cursed target, lifts for 50% longer and target takes 15% more damage from cursed, soul puppets WHILE they are Stunned (lifted). - Infernal Spheres - gives 5% DR per sphere and when spheres hit they heal for small amout (because it hits for small amount -1.5k-2.5k damage around) . Impression at first sight: They implemented defensive mechanics for SW however he is losing his primary asset (IMHO) which is incredible movement due to Shadow Walk changes, it now grants harshly 22,5% speed less.
I didn't notice any more changes but I could certainly miss some.
Pug Panther - PvP SW until module 16 Undermountain
Tyrranical threat doesn't seem to work. I haven't been able to get it to redirect a single point of damage to nearby targets. They "fixed" Murderous Flames by making it not proc at all. The change to Hadar's Grasp is a big nerf, the debuff it gives on live is much better, The "buff" to Dreadtheft is only a tooltip change, on preview rank 4 gives 25% damage buff same as on live.
I did however notice a few positive things. Some powers have a reduction in casting times, and Immolation Spirits starts attacking a little quicker after being cast.
Overall, this seems to be a big nerf to Scourge Warlocks.
So after so much "whining" about sw's overall performance they decide to force us all play temptation or damnation in pve. Things have been so bad for us after mod 6 and now they decide to make it even worse Just wondering, how many sw player will be left if they make these "fixes" to live server.
Hadar's Grasp does have a debuff on live, with curse consume. It just isn't mentioned on the tooltip. It adds a 3% stacking debuff every tick. At rank 4 it stacks up to 13 times (39% debuff) and lasts 2 or 3 seconds after the duration of Hadar's Grasp is over.
I refuse to go to zombie mode aka damnation. I play both pve and pvp so no fury. Well all that's left temptation... great. I would love to see what's gonna be damage difference between gwf and sw fury in future. I guessing gwf deals about 10x sw damage.

I'm hoping they simply just change the damnation path to some pseudo tanking path where the puppet isn't some bugged monster, but acts as a viable distraction for groups. Doesn't make much sense for both fury and damnation to serve as DPS trees.
All it does endgame is drop dead from 5 mph gusts of wind.
I recently switched to damnation for first time in months. It's not enjoyable having the puppet do so much damage. Boring... all these changes combined with ITF nerf means unrewarding content will take forever to complete.. they're really trying to bury this game

Well you'd have to be living in a dream to not see the ITF nerf coming. No single power or feat/feature in the game came remotely close to the DPS buff it provided.
Hi guys, can we change curse bite and Pillar of power for Hellbringer a bit if there is still time for change, Curse bite could use more damage I guess or some extra effects... just a suggestion.
Pillar of power should sustain even after an enemy walks over it ... would be ideal if it added defensive bonuses as well... just think about it, thanks!
One more power that could use some tweaking is Vampiric Embrace, it is not an effective spell once one reaches level 70, maybe a cooldown buff would be great... just think about it, thanks for understanding!

if these changes go live all SWs who dont want to go damnation are HAMSTER on . Its really sad that the devs are not able to fix damnation but decided to destroy fury as a hole. The cast time on TT is so long you wont be able to get a hit on the mobs if theres another dmg char in your group. Seems like the gwfs cried loud enough. its been like a month SW where ahead of gwfs and now we get a 90% dmg nerf. Seems legit.
I tested Hadar's Grasp again, removing all possible confounding factors. Respecced character (Hellbringer this time), no feats, no boons, no mount insignia, no active companions, and only a basic blue weapon (no ecnhantments) and no other equipment. Unfortunately, I can't completely unslot features any more, so I put on Shadow Walk and Dark One's Blessing which won't affect the damage. The only powers used were Warlock's bargain to put a curse, followed by Hadar's Grasp.
The debuff didn't effect immediately the same tick that procced it, so it only stacked to 12 this time, but otherwise it's a 3% stacking debuff as before.

Fix Flames Fix damnation and it will be fine
