I've noticed a lot of threads on this forum covering the same topics, over and over, and now I'm curious. To all of the people who are angry about one or more of the following:
1) Coalgate
2) Leadership Nerf
3) Quartermaster/DHE Enchant Nerf
4) PVP imbalances
5) Bug reports/Feedback being ignored
6) Reduce/Reuse/Recycle of Content
7) Foundry in disrepair
8) Reduction of rewards to help drive coal ward sales
9) Bad RNG
Why are you still playing this game? Is it guild loyalty? Inertia? Hope that eventually the devs will get on track? Or just not angry anymore? Thanks.

So, sure there are parts and decisions made in this game, that have both annoyed and upset me. But the overall package is still entertaining enough to keep me here. After all, no game is perfect, there will always be parts I dislike. If I let that rule me, id never play anything.
Last 200.00 bucks I dropped into this game was October 2015.
I spent so much money to upgrade artifacts to maximize my regeneration, just to see regeneration stop working in combat.
Also I bought a lightning enchantment just to use with smoke bomb (tr skill). Then one patch all enchantments except vorpal stopped working with smoke bomb.
I was super upset, made several posts about it and got no answer.
Wicked reminder was a true aoe skill(would hit unlimited monster clustered in range)
Got merged to hit only hit 5 monsters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-UyjaI-wB0
I won't be paying anything here anymore.
This company has lost my trust.
There's nothing really about this game that has made me angry (although I'm reserving a small angry slot for the upcoming class balances). Even getting stuck with 250 account bound preservation wards when I wanted to use them to upgrade enchants isn't that upsetting.
When I levelled a CW so I could play a DPS toon, only to get to level 70 around the time of the Storm Spell nerf - that didn't make me angry, its still a fun class to play and does enough DPS for me
Its a game, and its enjoyable, so I play it.
I try and avoid disappointment by going with vanilla stuff (like a vorpal enchant and an augment), I'll let others chase the triple chocolate fudge glory stuff.
The most important thing in life is to be yourself. Unless you can be Batman. Always be Batman.
I play because it passes time, and I have hope that something nice will happen before the servers shut down for good.
This doesnt mean we get into the game and stir up a frenzy in our guilds/channels , most of us just basically play the game, talk about family.work, friends, theorycraft a little, ask a few questions and come back day after day.
I get upset when long time players leave , as I have a long list of friends from year 1, no longer playing, or taking longer breaks. Every time a player like that leaves, it takes hundreds of new players to filter one into that group again.
Most new players dont reach the end game community at all. Well whats left of end game anyways.
Im simply not that upset as it may picture here, Im quite negative about alot of changes they have done, because I believe progression and power curve is both too gated and too elongated.
They should shorten both, they simply invest too much time into playing one toon here and not one player. This game wasnt like that until mod 4 and its only gotten worse and worse, as they elongate power curve , they make it harder to play more then one toon.
Ive played many mmos, and if I cant play a few toons at once, to me, its simply not a mmo I want to play, Ive been here awhile, so I have enough assests to make my toons playable, but I know new players would be kinda screwed out of it now.
BUT this changes hurt newer players. This changes hurt players, who still need to upgrade things, gear up etc. They effect me, bc many good players stopped playing bc one of the 'adjustments' tipped the scale and made them leave.
If I see another nerf, like the newest Quartermaster BoA 'adjustment'. I think, while the stacks of R5s, R6s etc. I got doubled in RP/AD value, if they keep this up, there wont be anyone around running dungeons with me in a short time.
They said they were going to up to drop chance, but lets be real, none of us really felt that change at all.
I dont understand why more doesnt drop for regular runs, a chance roll may net you 2 per dungeon you run, you would have to run.. oh say ten million dungeons for the RP you need =P.
First, I have a sucky computer and no Xbox, Playstation, or whatnot. So, a lot of these other high graphics games would chew up my integrated video card and spit it out like a piece of popcorn stuck in your teeth.
Second, whether good or bad, I have built a personal attachment with Neverwinter. It is not based on money spent (that is part of it), but it connects with my childhood memories of DnD, board games, and all the books I used to read. So, in one strange way, I have invested in the game to try and recapture some of those idyllic times.
Third, there is a certain pleasure in achieving things in the game, and being an old crusty ambassador. As the weeks and months and years go by, the nostalgia for 'what was,' even the crappy stuff, is now looked back on with a laugh. To go to a different game would require me to start all over again.
Fourth, the fighting mechanics are still some of my favorite. I tried to go back to the slotted targetting of all the old MMOs, and it feels unnatural now.
Fifth, I have friends in the game. Some are acquaintenances. Some are nemesi (spelling?). But, they all add flavor/color, and enrich the whole game's milieu. When the game loses players, for me, it is less about group content and more about an empty experience... We live in a digital age, connecting, rightly or wrongly, people from across the globe and shoving us all together into this imaginary world. I still prefer the world Neverwinter is providing.
Sixth, there are some genre games I don't like: space and tech themed, goofy looking graphics, PCs that look like you are playing a 2 year old with hair 3x the size, and some games lose sight of the genre they are in (*cough cough....World of you know what... *cough). As these are my preferences, not absolutes, I find the game's design and style fits exactly what I like.
Guild--And the Imaginary Friends
Will I pay for this game? Hell no. It's so not worth spending money on. Cryptic makes a science out of ignoring it's customer's wishes. No way will I let my money go toward supporting a company that intentionally and constantly shows how little it cares for it's customers. That's crazy. So, while I play the game and am willing to be a customer again, I'm not right now. I'm merely a player.
I'd like to give my money to Cryptic. I would. Really. I have certainly given plenty over the many years of playing STO and NW, but not any more - not until they start embracing their customers rather than hoping we'll shut up and stop bothering them.

I am negative in my posts because in my opinion some future game braking events are taking place ... PVP/Foundry/Class inballence/No New Dungeons forever/Old dungeons not back/CN is now a demonic encounter ........
I must also say they do get somethings right. the alliance update(with non guild changes too) was a big surprize to me(I thought it was going to be a fail). In my oppinion it had more usable changes than any of the previous 2 mods.
RIP Real Tiamat, RIP Real Demogorgon RIP real Temple of the spider. Why remove non bis content to give to bis players ????
FORCING the majority of your player base to play 4 mod old dungeons and trial will have a bad result on player base
Changes are getting so bad i would rather prefer no new changes (RIP ICE FISHING in winter fest)
I feel, besides those things that sometimes make me wonder how they came about, overall it's fun to have a character in Cryptic's Faerun. There is lot to explore, a lot to turn your attention to. And if it happens to feel grindy, you are free to try a different class on a different chapter of the stories offered.
Overall I am of the opinion that a lot of the fun of Cryptic's Faerun is about patience.
Who said they are playing anymore? I've gone through 10 different guilds and barely anyone on my friends list logs in. I think they lost a huge amount of their players. I have seen some churn of new folks that have only played for a few months, but they will be gone pretty soon too.
NW-DC9R4J5EH - 'The Black Pearl' - Spelljammer! Phlo Riders and Space Orcs
Thanks for all the fish.
They know they are overpowered, and purposedly left them overpowered since mod 7 to lure the top dogs in burning millions and millions of AD. Once they see the AD burning stops completely they will suddenly "realize" that maybe those boons will need balancing after all, and the outcry will be so loud that we'll see a second spellplague.
in and interview with a dev he commented that they had to "learn" how to do the conversion to Ps4 it probably took way longer then anticipated
Now they can back track and chose what content they want to focus on / fix / go over bugs that were skipped over
I do like the games play style, and the people in my guild are awesome too. Those are the reasons why I still play.
Although i would change some things on pvp!! But overall the experience its nice!!
