Arc continues to screw the xbox community whether through trade bar scams removing events and hoping players are to stupid to notice. I hope the community keeps there money in there pockets and hurts arc the only place they cate about. There wallets
I will say that I like this game. Mind you I think the bean counters running this game suck backside but I like the game. Now with that being said I will also say that starting from this day foreword if I can't get an item in the game it's self, then I see no need to drop real world money to have it. This would include VIP ranking. In a nut shell I will treat this "free to play" scamming game like any other "free to play" scamming game. In short, you are not getting one more thin dime from me... But I am happy to go on playing the game. :)
No offense to California people but these folks put things in perspective as to why that state charges for breathing and yet is the most in debt. I told a fellow guildie that sounds like a Cali company....I laughed after my research. They left that trade bar post out for a week out and you're going to tell me they overlooked it. This is the only business that allows this Bernie Madoff type of cash grab without the repercussions. Call the better business bureau and explain to them while it may only be a game it's a million dollar industry and this particular company needs to at least be looked into.
No business with a moral code and civilty would ever mistreat it's customers in this type of manner. Imagine a pharmaceutical company say they have a cure for a virus and will release at a minimal cost. They then pull said cure only allowing the elitist to gain favor.
I myself have dropped about 90$ and that upsets me. I could not imagine what someone who has spent much more than that feels. To do your little hobby and have the people running it turn their back on you do to "climate change" or what may effect your climate. Keep your wards and rubies I don't need your welfare.

First, thank you for finally making a statement and acknowledging the fact that a mistake was made.
However, as some others have pointed out already, there was plenty of opportunity to have mentioned the plans for the wards and rubies prior to the drop of the mod. The fact that someone ninja edited the original post is proof that there could have been a mention of it at the very least as early as that edit was made and/or any time in between.
Also, thank you for what you have proposed. It is certainly a step in the right direction. I have to say though, I am still pretty salty. With the compensatory items capped the way they are, even at the old price, my some odd 10k bars are getting me substantially less than what I could have gotten had I just known the real plan for the update. And I know that there are people who had much more than me saved in anticipation of the originally stated changes. I plan to continue to play for now because I enjoy the game but because of this I will no longer be spending money. I will make do with the zen that I currently have (all bought with cash, just for reference).
TLDR: I appreciate that you're trying to make things right, but this is not a solution that will get me spending money again.
My only hope after reading all these posts for the past hour is that the devs will have the decency to do the same. Hopefully they take notes and understand that every party i hopped into tonight has been saying all this same stuff. We are pissed for countless reasons over mod after mod of betrayal and shisty maneuvers geared toward making sure we can make less AD an you can make more money. This game was mind blowing and a real game changer for Consoles. I went around ranting and raving about it. Its sad how much it changed.
FTP means everyone can grind to progress; this is a clear obstacle to the FTPer. What will happen for NW is that the medium to hardcore fans will leave because they are suffering the most. Most impacted players are the paying ones and they will leave.
What does that mean for NW probably another escalation of the paywall; its cyclical.
Two terrible things have happened for Xbox and the community is right to be angry.
1st they banned buyers and sellers of high value items in the trade house regardless of proof of intent - WRONG and terrible treatment of your community. Here's a solution; warn players on 1st offense - short term ban on 2nd offense - permanent ban on third offense. Know without a doubt that the player is guilty for f*cks sake!
2nd in the reddit AMA back before mod 6 a representative said "we will keep parody of the two versions of the game (PC and Xbox) and will not make an exception because of player behavior (or lack of). Here you have advertised a promise leading up to this release causing players to invest in trade bars (not to make a profit but because it was awesome) and now broken that promise and broken parody between the versions of the game (2nd promise broken) due to anticipated (not guaranteed) player behavior.
This make good is not good enough to your community. I wouldn't even consider myself a hardcore player but this is wrong and a completely underwhelming compensation for those who carry this community.
Stupid move by the team managing this "solution" and you'll get what you deserve in user drop, engagement and revenue. Also "cannot make wards available in the store" is an absolute lie.
So players have waited nearly 3 days for you to sign off on this statement - A statement that has been read probably multiple times by different members of staff in your company - And not one of you knows how to use a calendar? That's just disturbing.
Also no mention anywhere of what happened to this weekend's events. Why were they removed? Punishment because players didn't roll over and accept your update?
I would also point out the irony of you trying to post about 'better communication' when you've been ignoring posts for the last 2 days - But I don't have a dictionary at hand, or the time to explain to you what 'irony' means.
Total incompetence by a company that relies on it's customer base.
Well, this is just a slap in the face just to get the entire player base to shut up. They are still not putting wards in the store AT ALL. So after you use the free one(s) you are SOL unless you WASTE real money to buy from the Zen Market....oh wait buying from Zen Market, it seems like they may have done it on purpose.
If anyone actually falls for this stunt by them, I feel sorry for you. As for me, I am done getting bent over by this company and I am going to be uninstalling this game. I know the devs don't care what one person does, but I am sure others feel the same way I do.
And @yetweallfalldown , you and the other devs should be ashamed about how you treat your player base. I understand you wanting to make money, but through everything wrong you guys have done, many people have stayed around. This WARD-gate fiasco was the last straw though. You and your people are horrible
Wow, I've never heard so much whining over a free game. If you're putting that much money into it you're a loser, plain and simple. Thank you Neverwinter for such a HAMSTER game. Thank you for the gift as well. Keep up the good work.
WOW, just wow. Over £600 I have put into this game since October and all you can say is sorry. How do I know I put that much money in? Because I'm currently in the process with my bank to claim it back under the grounds of fraud. You have killed this game. What your post basically says is that you would much rather screw over the paying members of this game by frauding them just so you can stop the people frauding you because that's what matters to you. Greedy little bar stewards. Well guess what? Not another penny from me. Enjoy watching this game crumble and die and I won't for as long as I live play another ARC or Perfect world product. Disgusting!!!
This is at last clear communication from the company which I like and I also like the gifts you'll give me (and other players) so thank you. I strongly disagree with all this negativity on this forum and will continue to enjoy the game.
Firstly I'd say that the community would probably be a lot more forgiving if this sort of thing hadn't happened before. It has been an accepted fact for some time that Cryptic has sharp tactics for extracting cash from players and is generally viewed as unscrupulous. This is not a PR or communication issue, it's based on the fact decisions are made that benefit the company at the expense of players.
Taking the issue in isolation, a free coal ward for every 200 bars in an account is not an unreasonable response ~ apart from the fact that some people spent a huge amount of real cash on keys. I'm not one of them because I'm far too suspicious a person to trust a company like Cryptic.
For these people, you should review the number of keys purchased over the last month & the increase in bars in their accounts over this time and issue a cash/AD refund based on how keys were purchased.
On the point of balancing the xbox economy, your decision to not list coal wards at the TB Vendor is based on the PC version. You say it didn't have a positive effect there so you won't be introducing it here.
The problem with that is the PC economy is the opposite of the XBox. They have an inflated economy whilst we have a deflated one. If the coal wards have an inflationary impact then this is actually a good thing for XBox. Unless you are trying to say it had an inflationary impact on PC therefore it will have a deflationary impact on XBox....
Could I suggest you do as some other games companies have done and hire an economist? It's obvious to me that this is not an area any of your people specialise in - no judgement there, it's a particular skill set and quite different from accounting so please don't rely on the word of your accounts team.
From the perspective of game balance, players are now forced to spend AD/cash on coal wards. This makes upgrading anything far more expensive and it will cost you in terms of player numbers. Having higher level weapon & armor enchantments is an absolute requirement for the game - far more so than having rank 12 offence/defence enchantments.
You need to have a serious look at when a 1% chance applies to upgrades. A thing I believe would work would be to make it much easier to turn shards into enchantments and lessers into standards just using wards - you need to have a graduated process similar to artifacts. Everyone should be able to make their own standard enchantment without the use of a coal ward. Alternatively you could consider dropping the price of coal wards to 500 Zen. Personally I prefer the graduated approach as it makes sense and is in line with other upgrading processes.

I was fiiinaaaaly going to get some mythics when 2x ench was going to hit.....now I get nothing...al that items stacked up for double ad......nothing..... Wow never been threated so bad by a game.and I wil spread the word to any1 who wants to start the game.probably every1 will. Your economy your economie.....is going to be jack HAMSTER when every1 quits. You guys are taking the rope around your own necks
No no no. .. you didn't "not" communicate ... you lied. You announced that Coal Wards would go down to 75 Zen. That's a false promise. .. The fact you decided NOT to actually tell us of your lie until we complained, and then took an age for a pathetic standard BS response, shows a definite will on your part to over up and hide this fraudulent promise. Your complete and utter disregard for your customers is astounding to the point of being comical. For a company to blatantly tempt people with a LIE is criminal. Yes I agree with a previous comment ... We should ALL send a complaint to MS Xbox Support regarding the business practices employed by the people behind Neverwinter. WE ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS NOT YOUR TARGETS..try remembering that in your next meeting.
I have spent so many days on end playing and grinding, to get to the point, where I literally feel stuck. I herd and researched that we were getting wards / rubies for a reasonable trade bar price. It was such a let down when you went back on your wards. When you keep changing the game when its convenient to you, it destroys the spirit of the game.
So we get some free gifts and that's it? so new players who play this game can't advance to a higher item level without spending money on wards or to grind the game hard to earn enough diamonds to buy one rank 10+ enchantment? this game just became pay to win, so new players enjoy levelling to 70 then stop playing because you're now at a disadvantage against other level 70's with 4k gear score. You guys are slowly destroying this game with you ''improved economy''
I'm not a day one player, I missed the astra farming but have enjoyed how the Neverwinter free to play system worked, but where its heading, I can see I'm going to have to quit and look for another game to sink hours into. This was a great game, but currently on this path its going to become a cash grab grind chore with not much enjoyment to be had.
Its been fun, but I'm out. So many fun games to play that I would rather now sink my time into than this.

Well I see this has evolved yet again as anticipated, we see a derisory offer that misses the point, we see a bunch of freeloaders and wanting folk who are quitting to give them their stuff, we see the usual trolls slagging off the power players who actually pay to keep the "F2P" game liquid. Same old same old, seen the jealousy greed and vitriol on PC games countless times.
Fact is those of you posting that this is good of the company and are welcoming this are likely the bottom feeders in this game and have never spent a dime supporting the excercise or are trolls or company clones.
One toon requires multiple coal wards to rank up (ten wont touch it) I could just wave this by and take it on the chin, however what most of the playerbase recognise and acknowledge is that it affects all the players ultimately, whether you put real cash on the table or not. Those of us who have done the Math know what the cost in real cash is going to be, the power players can afford this and yet refuse, why does anyone think that is? The reason that most of them are angry is they already paid to do this and are being asked effectively to pay again, everyone loves double dipping right.
Also closing the original thread wont help much Arc as you have now forced the community over to live and other outlets to make their voice heard.
This isnt over by a long way, the fight for natural justice will go on and like others I have spent my last dime in this game
