What would be your new companion list for a Thauma build, Fab?
Wild hunt, Owlbear cub, blink dog, Siege master. For bonding proccer the lightfoot is still best.
Yours love to blink dog bothers me for a while now (:P) kinda otta oppose on this.
We have first assumption on ur side, that u can have 100% CA uptime (imposible for thauma if no gwf/gf around or HR with pack feat, also u dont rly can waste time to try to get on ur pet opossite side, but lets say u have this gf or some1 else procing CA for u)
As far as i agree 100% on owlbear and thief/merc, we have those 3 others: Wild Hunt Rider, Blink Dog, Siege Master.
Another assumption is that: cw who chose not to take blink dog also takes advantage of other classes procing CA for him, so Blink Dog gives only x1.05, simply, u r aiming for CA anyway.
Now: Wild Hunt Rider & Blink Dog & Siege Master VS Air Archon & Fire Archon & Earth Archon
Third assumption is: u r not trying to facetank t1/t2 dung, or edemo. And that u have any smart amount of LS.
I would like to know Wild Hunt Rider uptime on purple and if he does multiproc (i assume yes)? But lets drop worst archon on this point. and assume Wild Hunt Rider is rly good.
its: Blink Dog & Siege Master VS Air Archon & Earth Archon
100(Base DMG) x1.05 x1.04 VS 100 x1.055 x1.065 109.2 vs 112.4
Im not rly best person for doing those calculations, but from what i see it seems that 2 archons beat Blink Dog & Siege Master.
My question is, can purple Wild Hunt Rider beat x1.045 dps boost from fire archon (his average 3.5% + 0.5% for each of other archons)?

Wild hunt rider multiprocs on CW off encounters and stacks time. In some cases, you can have the bonus up for 20 minutes or more.

You assuming I can stay at full health, I normally am not in most cases. I CAN keep up CA in dungeons though, believe it or not, I do actually stand deliberately around monsters for CA on my thaum CW, its painful, but possible.

Well i agree we have a bit different playstyles, and i pay more attention to slashing bosses than adds, i leave pulls usualy to others as cw.
But then, we have then fire archon + air archon, its 109.1925 dmg (tho i admit u prolly dont have a chance for second hit after first one, coz trashes r already dead, so fire archon usualy dont work for them). And u dont need to jump around pull to get CA, also its hard to get CA on 5 (when we speak about usual pull) mobs at the same time.

Where this build really shines is with a CW Renegade in his team
Where this build really shines is with a CW Renegade in his team
Having a renegade is great for sure, but I'd prefer a debuff DC any day :P
OFC, a debuff DC is a must in any optimal party, but hey the renegade gives you CA, crit, dmg and chill stacks It complements very well in performance. But hey it wasnt a joke, your build is a good alternative to the renegade arquetype, I just like more "party optimization" and "run time optimization" than indivitual optimization but I am sure your build fits the objetives that lots of CW wants. Its good to have diversity.

In a truly optimised party, the only buff a renegade provides that matters is chaotic fury. Chaotic nexus (group has 100% crit chance without it), uncertain allegiance (same as nexus). Nightmare wizardry? GF mark, or GWF mark. So really, if you want to go for team support/speed, then you should reroll to MoF for swath, since that makes more of a difference. If you have 2 CW's in a party, would you rather have: 1) 2 SS rens 2) 1 SS ren, 1 SS thaum 3) 1 MoF ren, 1 SS thaum 4) 1 MoF ren, 1 SS ren 5) 2 MoF rens

Indeed, if the renegade is MoF would be best for the team. But anyway if you talk about the best DPS party, a SS thaum is not there since the most optimal party is 2xGWF, 1DC, 1GF, 1 MoF renegade :P
But hell we play what we want and then optimize as far as we can, so this is a good alternative for DPS. And GWF will be nerfed soon xD

Incorrect! A HR for the HR buffs would replace 1 of the GWF's, or an OP for aura of courage+bane

I dont know about HR but I have a BIS OP that focus on HP (220k hp) for aura of courage dmg and uses bane all the dungeon and I can ensure you that it doesnt add more dmg to the run than a BIS GWF in a dungeon run. In a zerg tiamat or dragon runs is closer.
Siege Master is a 4% bonus at epic. Air Archon is a 5% bonus at epic. If you only have a choice between the 2 of these and are not using other archons why is the siege master even being considered? You just lose 1% damage plain and simple, not to mention that the air archon at purple is 450k right now and the siege master is 480k (no coupons, zen at 400) to get a blue one only

@scathias I realise that, thanks for pointing that out I have corrected that mistake
Maybe because Siege master gives more damage on Stronghold map thus on guild Dragon runs?

Kata a few things I would recommend adding to your guide: 1) A gearing guide for new players. By this I mean listing decent rares that a player can cheaply acquire on the AH assuming they are fresh and new to the game that can help them quickly get into dungeons. For example: Cruel Cap of Piercing/Smiting Cruel Robes of Piercing/Smiting Cruel Gloves of Piercing/Smiting Cruel Boots of Piercing/Smiting Cruel Amulet of Piercing/Smiting Cruel Ring of Piercing/Smiting Cruel Belt of Piercing/Smiting
That will cost a fresh, new player roughly 15k AD and will give them good enough gear to start doing dungeons. Were I you, I would list them in a combination that would give 60% resistance ignored so likely all of Piercing. In addition to this, I would list buying rank 6 darks/azures for offense slots and rank 6 darks for defense slots.
I would then have a section of the guide for what t1/t2 gear to use, for example: Alliance Raid Robes Alliance Assault Cap Alliance Assault Armlets Alliance Raid Shoes Alliance Assault Ring Lostmauth's Hoard Necklace Owlbear Leather Belt of Intelligence
Which would then proceed on to the t2 gear and rank 7 enchants. In addition, this is the point I would recommend a new player gets an augment companion.
I would also list advice on how a new player can generate AD, for example, farming dragon heralds with zone or running dungeons with legit or something, as well as listing some new player friendly channels they should join. At the moment, your guide is not particularly new player friendly which is a pity, since I think you can correct that It is fairly challenging to make a guide contain low budget advice, but it makes a huge difference and makes it more accessible to new players.

Yeah, it's on my todo list, unfortunately, I've been busy as of late, getting the whole house recarpeted means I need to move everything around all the time, and haven't had much time to work on this :P I'm also a little worried Ididn't reserve enough posts :P
Wild hunt, Owlbear cub, blink dog, Intellect Devourer Intellect Devourer+blink dog 1+ (0,15 + (сha) +8 (Lantern of Revelation+boons icewind dale) * 1,1(underdark boons) * 4/3( Intellect Devourer) * 4/3(blink dog)=78.2%CA My CW 27 cha
Isn't it should be (1 + [0.15 {base} + 0.17 {cha} + 0.08 {1k stats}] *1.1{underdark}) * 1.05 {blink} * 1.05 {devorer} 58.7% more damage on CA

Keep in mid that CA dmg is aditive to critical severity when you crit and have CA. Its not % more dmg in all the cases. Its more complicated, Kaelac formulas are still working.
So, will this build ever get an update? I can see the boon section is not complete and no mention about equipment other than HV.
Yeah, I'm hoping to finish it soon, I've just been so busy IRL, I've barely had time to log on for daily key most days, let alone write this guide
Edit: Boons are done, I'll try to get a good portion of gear done as well at some point today. It's time for me to stop procrastinating and actually finish this.
Just wanted to add this here, I've made a lot of updates to my guide, and I won't actually be able to fit them all in my forum post, as I didn't reserve enough posts. As of right now, the most up-to-date version of this build is found here:
