I watched the entire dev stream today. I was expecting it to be much more professional and to focus on all the issues and bugs that so many people spent so much time here identifying. I gained no new insight or knowledge from the stream other than, "If we fix one thing we might break another" and "we are working on dungeons that were removed".

32. Cryptic should actually monitor the attempt-frequency and success-rate of major heroics and adjust their difficulty level if they are failing too often or permanently raise the rewards if groups are not even attempting them. Diversity and motivation = fun.
36. With rare drops (such as Haarl’s Treatise), it seems unlikely that Cryptic is testing. Do you really have a tester run eSoT five hundred times to test the drop rate? Or perhaps more sensible: do you not have a drop-rate monitor for actual drops, so that your game designers can actually see that x hundred players ran eSoT on a particular day and that the rare/epic drops dropped y times? It seems you do not know what is happening. The AH prices can be a guide to problems of this nature.
@oldmammoth VERY NICE post, I read it all. I had a /nerdgasm when I finished, it was beautiful !!
Is there a transcribe of the stream somewhere since it took place 1 am here it was impossible for me to view it.
Did they actually answer any of the good questions. Or was it just meant as a vent mechanism.
There are more than BIS players in this game RIP Real Tiamat, RIP Real Demogorgon RIP real Temple of the spider. Why remove non bis content to give to bis players ???? FORCING the majority of your player base to play 4 mod old dungeons and trial will have a bad result on player base Changes are getting so bad i would rather prefer no new changes (RIP ICE FISHING in winter fest)
I also found there were no precise answers given. "We are working on..." and "Soon..." are exactly what shouldn't have existed. No concrete schedule.
Here's a set of tips for next stream:
- have a transcript of the schedule in hand when answering questions; - give answers which don't leave room for interpretation; "soon" can very well mean 2 years from now; - extend the stream time; - leave out giveaways; save those for other occasions, not serious matters! I guarantee you that you'll be facing a lesser=green crowd with epic=purple questions/suggestions (and normal=blue expectations)
Bottom line, I don't consider that what happened in this stream can be categorized as proper communication. Keep trying.
P.S.: Dev. said something about not yet fixing [something I can't recall] before balancing classes, and then a poll was created regarding LM set nerfing? You basically said one thing and engaged on a road which is likely to have you do the opposite of what you said.

Though I appreciate the effort and the fact it was nice to hear you aknowledge quite a few bugs, it's quite a dissappointment to hear ONLY answers like "don't know exactly", "no plan for that right now", "we'll have more news soon"
I felt like I must have missed at least one clear answer to a bug, but even when rewatching it, all I see/hear are vagueness and uncertain promises.
Please folks, try to be a bit more focused on the bugs Q&A if you're holding a stream dedicated to that and be a bit prepared with answers, even if JUST ONE clear answer (or even a little tease)....
I would have loved to have attended. But for us on the other side of the world Thursdays don't work in the middle of the night.
Now if these events instead were held on Fridays the same time, then the middle of the night wouldn't be such a problem as most of us wouldn't have school or work to go to on Saturday so staying up late would be ok.
So I propose that events like this are moved to Fridays the same time.

thanks for the stream and despite what all are saying, it was a good start to get a "bug communication" going. It was good to hear that you are open to precise bug descriptions, and will follow up on them, this gives hope that some of the more annoying bug could really be squished in the near future.
Did not watch the stream, but still want to inject my two cents since everyone has thrown in their Christmas list early-on in this thread.
Plain and simple...PLEASE fix PvP queueing and/or matchmaking. From what I can tell, folks who progress into high-level PvP spend a ton of money on the game to gear up and remain competitive. Combat mechanics are great in this game, and PvP can be and used to be so much fun. It is now very broken.
The current system is so lacking in balance that no one even queues for GG any more, and the fact that Dom has largely become a pugstomp arena is a real issue. I often run into 4K-type premades in Dom complaining about how bored they are because they can't get a competitive match. And how many fresh lvl 70 players enter Dom matches, get stomped and verbally abused, and never come back. How many of those would stay engaged and progress in PvP if the system worked?
Simple fix...tiered queueing. One "Open" queue...any IL qualified by level (i.e. 70+) can enter. My 3.7K HR can take on the 4K big boys if he wants. Lower IL players can pop in to get stomped and learn higher-level strategies and mechanics. Also allows people to run premades of different ILs. Important. Very important. Can't just go purely to an IL level-based system.
Then 2 other tiers. Maybe one of sub 3k and another of 3k+? Do this for both Dom and for GG. Watch the population increase. Watch Zen sales rise as players now become interested in gearing for both elements of the game, and not just for PvE, so that they can run the same dungeons over. And over. And over.
This will not solve issues with bugs, exploits, class balance, etc. But it would be a start to creating some sense of parity, and giving the guy who just made lvl 70 at 2k IL a reason to become interested in PvP without some massively OP GWF pounding him into mush in every match and destroying every bit of his interest in PvP.
I'm sure like everything else, this would be some sort of coding nightmare or huge hassle and would require resources which Cryptic cannot devote to such matters (maybe a bit of sarcasm there?), and that this comment will drop into the abyss like most others (no sarcasm there). However...given the cash flow which a larger PvP playerbase could and would generate, seems to me that attention to this matter would be time well spent.
Oh yeah...and agree with above. Maybe you could not run streams when most of the folks who have jobs in the US are at work, and much of the rest of the world is asleep.
I also found there were no precise answers given. "We are working on..." and "Soon..." are exactly what shouldn't have existed. No concrete schedule.
You're not in software development. Have you seen the bug list for companies like Google and how many bugs / features have been open issues for how long? You're not their project manager. Why would you be demanding that they give you a list of items and a concrete date for each?
I watched it. I'm interested in the mount reworks. I hope you add some customization. Maybe to pets too.
Add more transmutes to the bar store. Sell the old legacy dungeon transmutes. They looked awesome.
Cosmetic transactions are big $ for F2P. Some survive on that alone and do much better with that then this whole refinement point...thing.
Everyone wants to look different. Cars, tattoos, gym memberships, iphone covers, etc. All that stuff should be cash shop. It's not game breaking, can't be called P2W and provides revenue for support. People like looking different (and change often), and are happy to make the purchase. It's a choice and not forced like upgrades.
I'd be happy to pay to make my drake like dark red or something instead of blue. I hate blue. It's a fat smurf lizard. I'd pay to change it. I'm sure there are others. Just my 2cents.
Mount recolours seem like a relatively easy idea to implement and also seemed popular with the stream crowd.
Re-releasing the old armor sets as a cosmetic for transmutes seems like a no brainer to me also. Rename them put miniscule stats on them and slap them in the tradebar store, job done.

Just caught up a little on the twitch recording...
Thanks... now I feel old... very old... btw, are you kids old enough to hold a job?
i want to see I.D.s... now...
Did I mention that I now feel old?
I worked as a dev for 25 years in banking and internet. I have nothing against younger people, I was there once. It takes time and experience to devlop a mindset of delivering a quality product. It's easy to see why the game has so many problems right now. I am hopeful that they can get a team together that brings the game back to greatness.

That is unfortunately the only way any MMO can really give out news.
No plans for it means that it is not being worked on. Doesn't mean never but it means no time in the near future.
I don't know is unfortunately a side effect of him not being involved in every single aspect or not being able to make statements that something is feasible or not until one of his team members look into it further. Count it as relayed feedback.
More news on that soon means it's being worked on. However they really are not at liberty to say it absolutely will happen because it can always change for various reasons and either may not be released when anticipated, may be locked behind some press release shenanigans or may, goodness forbid, not get released at all due to various circumstances.
As for transcripts, again it will be out soon. I know it was at least partially transcribed when Andy left last night but I can't say when it will be published.

Well that's pretty rude. I won't divulge much of their personal lives but both of them are in their mid to late 20's which isn't entirely abnormal. There are plenty of older veterans in the studios as well it just happened to be that our CM and the developer he had on the show was young as well. Feel free to watch the other developer streams.
Oh yeah...and agree with above. Maybe you could not run streams when most of the folks who have jobs in the US are at work, and much of the rest of the world is asleep.
Just sayin...
International prime time is between 3-8 PM EST. This is when the most MMO Gamers are off of work at the same time frame due to Europe NOT being in bed and regions of the US being out of work. Being that it was between 5 and 6 PM EST it fell right in the middle of that range.
Beyond that, they have actual jobs to do and are not going to uproot their schedule and show up while they should be sleeping to get to work the next day and even if they did there would be a slew of people complaining that it was at a time period that didn't fit them...such as all the people who fit into the prime playing time MMO's discovered years ago.
The transcript is up in the same stream announcement thread.

A. If we do nerf the Lostmauth set, we need to have the Community's backing for this. So I might actually start a poll on the forums, so that if it does come to a point where we do nerf it, I can just point them to that poll, and say "This is what the community wanted".
WARNING - Rant ahead, want to first say that I am very happy with the effort put into the stream and that I hope this does become a weekly thing. Any frustration that follows is not specifically directed at Strum or any of the other devs but at the general answer above.
Can I just say that I am beyond disappointed with this answer? If I may, why in the name of all that is holy are you worried about the community's backing NOW?
Go back in time, create a poll asking if removing AD from leadership was something people wanted. That change was implemented.
Step in the same time machine, go make a poll about changing how Stormspell worked. That change was implemented.
Or how about a poll of whether or not dungeons should be removed?
You're the developers of the game. You raised the level cap to 60 and added in what is considered by the community to be the WORST ten levels of the of the game, by far, despite a huge quantity of feedback from people playing the preview shard. You have added in new Artifact weapons with every module. You pulled the dungeons, fixed leadership, added in new mounts with even more power creep, all without wanting to design by committee. And you know what? The game has survived, progressed, and in some ways gotten A LOT better (AD economy) than it was because you made the hard decision.
And now you have one of the most obviously, blatantly broken things in the whole game staring you in the face and you want to start? The fact that you're referring to it as a NERF is already mind-boggling - just fix it to do what the tooltip says, the same way you did for SS.
I was hoping to hear an answer of 'yes we're fixing it soon we know it's a problem'. I was prepared to hear 'I don't agree with how it works but official stance is that it's working as intended'. This answer though...damn.
1. The 'Invite Bug'. Quite often characters simply cannot Invite other players and have to relog to fix it.
2. Crit Severity isn't updated or shown as accurate in my Character Sheet despite having a Vorpal enhancement.
3. Not sure why this bug is specific to Dread Ring for me, but I often experience an interface delay when speaking to people, picking up an object or standing at the exit. Takes 5-10 seconds to register. This only happens to me in Dread Ring, nowhere else.
