Account wide companions

Only Slaad companion account wide, scorpion and spider are missing in action, bug or intentional action?

    I opt for some patience...

    ...after all, it's been (four ???) months. A few hours more or less, meh.

    The latest post in the closed thread said they wouldn't be fixed/implemented until late afternoon Pacific time.

    Give them some time, it's not even afternoon there yet.

    Okay, apparently EVERYONE - yes, every single person, whether you participated in the promotion or not - has the death slaad available account-wide. That's... that's kinda not cool, guys. You made us pay a ridiculous amount of zen to get a special companion and now you're giving them to everyone for free?

    I'd honestly be okay with that, but seeing as they didn't restore the server after the Stone of Radiance thing I don't see them doing it for this, either.

    a server restore would be a heck of alot of work for something that isnt gamebreaking.

    Caturday was about more than just the cat companions though, that was a whole deal with BILLIONS of ill-gotten AD flooding the economy all at once. It's just called 'caturday' because everyone and their grandma suddenly having a cat was their first sign something was seriously wrong.

    I'm still kinda bothered by this. This seriously devalues something people were supposed to be getting as a promotion, that they actually paid for. I don't honestly see them doing anything about it, except maybe, MAYBE, removing the account-wide slaad from people who didn't qualify - but letting them keep ones they already claimed.

    The cats were a symptom, but people who had nothing to do with the exploit (other than buying suddenly cheap cats on the AH) still lost something they weren't entitled to IIRC.

    Regardless, it should be easy enough to back out the illegitimate pets.
    Take them away from everyone that learned it since the patch. Make sure that only those that qualify have it on the vendor, then those people get to reclaim it.

    If they didn't make the account wide one a different row in their database (different item tag), then there may well be some (small) number of peeps that got it through the AH and are just now learning it, and they can be handled by filing tickets to review their AH purchase history.

    I'd missed this reply while I was writing my last one, and only JUST noticed it - either way, thanks to the developers and everyone for fixing it quickly. At least it wasn't intentional, I'm less bothered with people getting to keep the ones they already claimed.

    According to scientists, there is no free lunch, however, today in neverwinter, players got free salads, (Slaads) which clearly disproves this theory :p

    Hey are we still naming these bugged patch days? Cause I'd like to put my vote in for the Day of the Great Slaader.

    ...or possibly Slaaderhouse
    ...or Like Bugs to the Slaader?

    Anyway, you get the idea.

    ps. I also wouldn't say no to a cloak with this guy's face on it.

    So, after work and classes, I log in.

    The Slaad is disabled, the spider and scorpion are not there at all. *sigh*

    I'm hoping they didn't implement the other two because of the problem with the slaad going to more than intended.

    slaad wasnt meant for everyone? when did this pet first announced, i dont remember seeing this as new companion for months. was this suppose as a new pet to be added?

    The Death Slaad, Phase Spider, and Black Death Scorpion were supposed to be account-wide pets for people who qualified back in June. They are just now addressing the "proofreading error", and should be providing these companions account-wide for only those people that qualified during the event.

    What's funny is seeing multiple multi-million astral diamond postings in the auction house by people complaining...

    a) Where in this thread am I complaining? Sarcastic remarks aplenty - I'm doing that all the time, call it a hobby of mine. Or a bad habit... ...your choice.
    b) We initially got one (ONE!) of each initially, though unbound. After some complaining this got upped to three, and to five eventually. I parked them there and set the price irrationally high (twice the highest on offer at that moment - R12 VIP's silver linings. Without all that complaining in the stickied thread - to which I definitely plead guilty, nothing would've happened at all.
    c) ...yes, I might intend to sell (some of) them later on. One or two I'll probably give away to friends. Call it interest. As in "interest rate" - after all I had initially expected to take these pets out on many a char in June. So, after a four months' wait, I deem that a decent enough compensation. Special shamelessness due to my former, fully legit (!!!) and labor intense way of generating income has been nixed.

    TL;DR: I'm making snide remalks from the sidelines*, and wait for the resolution of that issue to unfold. Should this not happen, I'll start complaining again...
