So how I do make 20m AD for a mount ?

After saving all my VIP keys I opened 30 boxes, hoping that at least 1 one them would have floating disc. To my complete shock(sarcasm), I got nothing but the usual blues, artefact packs and some rubbish.

I am not sure that the chances on old boxes but after opening close to 100 I am still without anything decent to show for it.

    Same results with 90 boxes nothing purple or orange

    The floating disk is gated behind an AD sink (keys), AND the RNG system. It is rare, and a very cool, unique mount. Therefore, that is why it costs 20m. If you could reliably get the mount with 30 keys (equal to 1.875m AD), the mount would not be nearly that expensive on the AH.

    I would expect that price to come down, since AD is now more valuable and there is no sense posting it on the AH if nobody can buy it. But as it stands, if there is an AD sink involved, you can expect the results to be pricey and at the very least, priced to the cost of getting it.

    This is the reason why almost everything else tanks in price...artifact equipment, dropped enchants, transmutes....all tank in price because they are not gated heavily, and can be sold for what the user wants to sell them for. If there is a gate, there is a minimum involved.

    Also - In a F2P game, just because you CAN get everything free...it doesn't mean it is going to be reasonable. A game can call itself F2P so long as all the content is free - which is the case here for the most part. You can buy almost everything with Zen, and you can get zen for AD, and you get AD from playing = F2P. Nothing in that says its going to be reasonable.

    Lastly - prepare for a bunch of "There is nothing that says you NEED that mount - you want it".

    No, I got the Gond mount BTC from a Gift of Simril. You will never make 20 mill in-game now, btw.
    Is it easier to get during the winter event?

    I understand it's gated behind keys, after 30 boxes I got nothing worth selling. I have been buying keys when I can but and nothing really worth while.

    It's not needed but either are a lot fluff items, they are there so people can get them.

    Well, your point was stated that you were disappointed that one didn't contain the rarest and arguably coolest mounts in the game. Perhaps I need more coffee.

    If you are disappointed that you didn't really get anything good, I can feel your pain there definitely. Most games with lockboxes have some guaranteed value - but I don't think most give away a daily key either. The bars used to be that guarantee, but even that is slim and the rewards arent that great.

    If you have pay for VIP then it's not F2P but a subscription to get the bonuses. Various f2p MMOs offer some kind of incentive to subscribe and Cryptic's was the VIP rewards.

    I've been pushing for the Stag mount, but to no avail. It is arguably the second coolest mount after the disc. The chances of actually getting one are miniscule. I've had a little better luck, picking up about 3 mil worth of purples. I've had a little better luck with the Crushing Wave lockbox than with the older boxes I was trying for.

    And that's a very good thing.

    The boxes are not meant to get you something you can sell but something you can USE. You know, to play the game? That's what all these changes are about, including the VIP program, to get people playing the game instead of abusing it to make millions of AD and pushing prices beyond the reach of sane people who don't have all day to farm it.

    There is no guarantee at an epic mount and if you want it, particularly if you do have alternate characters and want an epic mount for them as well, buy a Zen mount, either with money or AD, and you'll be all set.

    Im not opposed to certain items be bought from the store, account wide items are all pretty reasonable, the company needs to make money.

    20 million ad is for super rare mounts with effects (legendary ones from the last 2 mods)

    You can save up and buy a rare mount if you want to, they are not that unreasonable even today.

    or .. give the company some money they do need some to continue the game.

    And , you know if you read my posts, I have no love for recent changes and Im not a fan boy, I expect a certain balance between purchased items and in game progression ones.

    I didn't pay a dime for 12 months of VIP. You don't HAVE to pay real money, therefore it is not a subscription and not pay to play. VIP also does not unlock any content, other than the moonstone mask VIP area (I stay far away from that place...a little creepy). VIP is barely worth it really, and if I knew then what I knew now, I probably would have second thoughts. The bank, salvager, vendor and mailbox are worth it to me though as a convenience even if the value of the keys isn't there.

    Anyways, off topic.

    Could be just me but for whatever 30 keys cost you probably could've gotten a sweet account wide mount.

    Already have one in unicorn. I just wanted the disc because it look good. Back to saving keys again.

    What I've heard, but can not confirm, is that when a new lockbox is released, the chances of getting the rares goes up slightly those first few days. Something about the server trying to maintain a quota for the rares and since nobody has the rares when a new box is released, the chances are maxed.

    Would actually make sense if you think about it. I'd program it so that there were enough people with the rare coming online each day so that people got to see it, but it was also rare. Things sell better when they see it, but not when they see it every 5 seconds. If there are not enough people logging in with it (quit or whatever), then the percentage goes up a bit.

    All speculation, along with the idea that being in an empty instance makes for better odds. All in all, its probably just the typical RNG.

    the huge difference here is, a player is selling the mount not cryptic, they are responsible for making basic things accessible. the "this mount looks cool" is entirely up to you and the player seller.

    I assume you mean enough can be seen in use or on the AH.

    Not sure anyone believes that the server announcements on rare rewards coming from the lockboxes is 100% accurate.

    Lockboxes are gambling :/ I've been after the skeletal mount since release and still no luck all these months later.

    As for 20mil ad, that'll drop before long, just like everything else has lately. With the removal of leadership AD now already has more value and as a result, things that cost millions have already dropped in price. If you have AD right now, keep it until the prices stabalise. The same has happened to the zen exchange. I havn't checked it today, but friday it was 440 ad per 1 zen, yesterday it dropped to 412 at one point and i've seen a continual decline in AH priced to match.

    Getting the mount from any dropbox is like winning the lottery. Don't open them expecting a mount. You should be able to save enough AD to buy from AH well before you get it from the box, if it ever drops for you

    I spent 200 buck bought 110 keys i wanted the black dragón artifact as u say didnt get anything good... So had to sell the Zen for AD and buy the Artifact from AH at 4.5 millions AD i still cry when remember.
