The game "no longer responding" after the Neverwinter loading screen

    Using Windows 7 here. Tried all tricks with safe modes and DirectX juggling, even reinstalled the game over night. Nothing helped and this seems to be 100% graphics driver's fault. I will try updating drivers.

    It doesn't crash. At the moment the game has to spawn the first objects (the rocks and the dragon in the background of login screen) it just turns the screen into black and stops responding. After reinstalling the game I should be getting display calibration screen... but I don't. It's exactly the same. The calibration screen is just a window with this dragon thing still in the background so it can't help in any way.

    Previous patches stopped the build from loading in anything other than safe mode ... now it does not even do that crashing the computer. I'm going back to Star trek and leaving untested game until you get your act together.

    As a die hard D&D fan this is a harsh step, but as a software tester ... well lets just say I have an opinion on not testing software correctly and leave it at that ... but I'm free if you want beta or even Alpha testing from a user perspective and my rates are reasonable compared to loosing your entire customer base!

    crashes right before character selection. im using win 7. this is makin me mad

    hey guys i let my game sit there and load in safe mode i did nothing else and it worked

    Myself and a guildie just had success with "-d3d11Enable 0" - make sure to restart launcher after putting that in the command line, before you try to access game.

    Other than that, I spent 5hours trying to get into game with this problem last night. Good luck to all you guys still waiting. Hopefully they should sort this out soon. :)

    EDIT: Please note, this is just a temporary fix and I can't guarantee it will work for everyone. The graphics are awful when in game (safemode graphics), but atleast it's playable. I'm just happy to be back in PE after hours of trying everything possible. It's great to know it's working for a lot of people too! Keep positive guys, I'm sure Cryptic are on the case!

    I windows 10 on both laptop and desktop one will load then other wont.

    Safe mode is working for me...

    Looks like a video issue, as I'm getting a message saying that my video crashed and was restarted just before the "loading character" freeze.

    same here, come on guys my diver is crashing at last let us know something its like everything ok, but it not havein killed anything 24hrs now (GET IT DONE)

    If this isnt fixed, Neverwinter will lose alot of players!

    Hey guys. I and my fiance have Lenovo notebooks with Geforce cards in. It is broken on both in the same way. The Geforce driver is crashing immediately after the loading screen. Then it gets bugged and doesnt recover. NO SAFE MODE will help in this. All the guys who have geforce and get newer driver will get the same experience. REPAIR pls, as this is absolute disaster from community support point of view. If you new about this then shame on you with releasing a mod which s totaly unworkable for many PCs.

    I spent so much time trying to figure this out, by the time I did get in the game I don't feel good about playing.

    I can't play either. Same problem. Tried all the fixes mentioned in a couple of threads and no luck.

    I just got an email response to my ticket : Thank you for this feedback. At this time Windows 10 is not a supported operating system w/ Neverwinter. This is why you are having difficulties at this time. Unfortunately we have not been provided when or if Windows 10 will be supported. Should that information become available we will be sure to update the community of this change. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding. Regards Game Master

    Patience... I'm Irish are they kidding me right now... I need a strong shot and a Neverwinter fix. Guess I'll go make a toon on my Xbox one...
