GF's and Tank Pala's DR Bugs (it happen to DPS classes also)

For those that me play as tank (Gf or Pala), we all know there's a DR bug making dungeons and specially boss fight almost impossible.. Yes for no reason our DR stop working! it happen a lot and its fixed after we die, 1 time u can survive an attack by blocking, a few secs after the same attack kills u for no reason.

this bug have been reported 2 months ago and still unfixed.

I'am asking you my tank friend to keep this Bug report alive, maybe if we all keep posting it will eventually be notice by devs and fixed.

edit: after talking with friends in guild it seems to happen to DPS classes also, but since they are not suposed to survive alot of hits its less visible but it there also.

edit2: link to a picture where i take 160k dmg from a 100k attack (no debuffs or buffs from party, they enter and died so i can teste it) since i have 45% DR taking a 100k base hit would hit me for 100k-45%, not 160k even if the armor pen takes my DR to 0% 100k base dmg would hit 100k-0% = 100k.

    I can confirm. Getting 1-2 hitted by the bosses sometimes (normal attacks not red aoes) is pretty annoying.

    Yea, been getting hit by this for a while. Hell, was doing Lostmauth, and I am a Bulwark paladin, and as soon as I got up to him he does his swipe and I get flattened instantly. Thankfully I have soulforge equipped so I got right back up. Had a similar instance earlier to when a dragon cult archer in the Lostmauth instance shot and one-shotted me despite having temp HP as well.

    It's just being a roller coaster right now, because I love that I won't die instantly to everything but I am hating this bug that my defense disappears at odd intervals and won't come back until I die.

    What is THE most annoying about the bug - I want to do a legit GWD/eCC with my average geared guild - we cant burn bosses really fast, fights are lengthy and quite hard. So far we figured and mastered most parts of the fights... except of random tank 1 shot that ruins fight for everybody, especially that bug occurs more often, than soulforge goes off cooldown.

    Also - its not only the tank - everybody is bugged. If bugged DR DPS gets hit while under Knights Valor/Divine protector - the tank will get damaged for bugged damage, EVEN if he isnt bugged anymore - I mean KV/DP will reduce the incoming damage, but still it'll be damage reduced from, lets say 200k base hit, instead of like 80k

    Another thing - its not only that DR stops working... its effects are kinda reverted. When you are bugged attacks hit you for 200% of base effectivness, if the DR "just" stopped working you'd get hit for at most 100% of attack effectivness, not double amount.

    Yes that what iam talking about, for no Reason DR get bug and dmg sky rocket, most fails in dungeon fight come from it, since when its all good i can survive and protect my party with KV, then the bug happen on me or some1 else and puff dead from and attack i can survive/block. the most annoying its that if it happens to a dps in theory i should be able to keep adds on me for some1 to revive it, but since i have kv on its 2 players down and soulforge will not work, cuz its bugged also when dmg comes from a party member if the tank dies from KV dmg soulforge will not work.

    As u can see in the bug report linked, the bug was reported but no changes (fix) and just a few commented on it keeping this bug repport alive on forum its something needed to see if its Solved.

    Dungeons are hard and need good team work, but this bug make all fall apart, cuz doesnt matter if we are well Geared and if we play good as a party when it happens, no heal/buff will save u.

    Thank to all that are helping keeping this alive and asking for a fix.

    This bug only seems to be getting worse now. Been running regular dungeon runs and even while blocking now I can be one shotted. It's getting extremely frustrating, especially as a bulwark paladin, when you have this mountain of defense and a normal attack pretty much wipes you out.

    yes it happens alot in dungeons or mostly in dungeons, snce this weekend i was in IWD running blue encounters with my guild and nothing, no bug in 3-4hours of encounters. after we enter eToS and every 5min or so bug... sometimes i wonder if this is not a bug but something just to make it harder to get t2 gear, in any case i hope it gets fix soon.

    I think I might have a general idea of what's happening. The bug might be, since mobs in epic dungeons are suppose to have some armor penetration (how much I am not sure) I am betting dollars to donuts, when the monster crits, their Armor Penetration is being multiplied fantastically thus rendering all our defense moot. This is a bug that needs to be fixed because no way in hell should a paladin with over 300k health (temp HP and main) and using sanctuary should ever get one shotted, ever, by a single mob on a basic attack, or even a boss.

    It's the only thing I can logically think of that would make Defense completely disappear, because of the fact that it seems this bug only affects epic dungeons, and not anywhere else, that I can tell (with the exception of maybe Tiamat.)

    feytouch can give mobs damage a HUGE buff that makes 20k hits become 200k maby some other enchants like pure/trance vorpal do the same.

    To many buggs atm its impossible to keep track any more....

    its possible to the this, maybe armor pen on adds make them give us negative or 0% dmg resist, if thats the case the armor pen on adds should be lowered or it should have a limit, something like it can only ignore 50% of the player DR, cuz having palas with 300k hp and 50-60% dr 1 shoot its not WAI.

    same for GF with shield up being 1 shoot, specially if a spider or what ever attacks the GF from back, it gets combat adv and 1 shoot, like in eToS last boss, most times i get 1 shoot without having a chance to do anything, spiders or blademaster spwan from time to time away from the boss, since Iam near the boss there's always 1 in my back that immediately attacks and dead. combat adv + armor pen making defense near 0% 1 shoot.

    I've seen this too with GF.
    I've been one-shotted in eLOL and Kessel many times now
    - all mobs in front
    - shield block up
    - single mob does a spike hit *through* the block

    Can any one else confirm that the block for GF is spotty now?
    I noticed that some attacks just go right through, even low lv places like Helms Hold
    where I tested 2 hours ago.

    Blocking is spotty for both GF and OPP. There are now several attacks that ignore block, such as AP drain attacks such as the Redcap Powerie and Valindra's circle beam, and the Fomorian Witches Polymorph attack all of which Block and Sanctuary are not stopping.

    It's a frustrating thing now because tanks can't tank because of these bugs popping up left and right.

    Other than the attacks championshewolf just quote, theres the aoe/area attacks that have a strange block point, like on elol last boss after the roar stun, 3 circles appear the 1st hit its a big blow and then it burns on the are, strange if u standing inside the red circle block u get hit bit it, but if u standing inside the fire after it u can block, the 1st big hit can only be block if u are facing the center of that big circle, if not it hits u all times.

    but what makes me more mad its the hits on back, if something it u from back u get it gets combat adv and since block dont block from back its a huge hit (1 shoot most times), ubiquitous shield feat gives us 25% more DR at 5/5 on back hits, its not enough that barely the combat adv bonus dmg, with 50% DR a 80k hit should turn into 40k, but from back if they get 10-20% dmg bonus from combat adv, the 80k hit turns into 100k easy, so 50% DR turn it into 50k hit, so ubiquitous shield will eat 25% of those 50k final hit its 37.5k compared to 40k from the same attack in front its not enough, making those 25% less dmg from back close to nothing cuz of combat adv bonus. (without counting adds armor pen or crit chance)

    ubiquitous shield, should be at least 10% per point (10/20/30/40/50%).

    or we should get a part of the DR of block on back/side attacks, shield block 80% of the dmg on a front attack i should give us like 20% on side/back attacks just by having it up.

    GFs try going into palas sanctuary with your shield up or raise it in the sanctuary.You can even try it in PE.Find a paladin and ask him to open sanctuary and now raise and try to hold up your shield in it just for a few seconds.

    that 1 i didnt know since i dont play with palas that ofthen but, i just dont get how they make thanks a must to run dungeons, and then let all this defense/DR/shield bugs go live and stay there since mod6 start, since mod 6 there was a change on GF, commander strike a skill almost no1 uses in dungeons, cuz we need aggro/defnese/party buff skills.

    i just want to play my gf and block as it should block and not get 1 shot for no reason, if it was overpowered it would be fixed already i bet.

    I got a better one. Have a GF in the party use Knight's Valor. Then have a paladin use Divine Protector. If the GF stands in any red, watch your paladins health melt in a t1 or t2 dungeon, even with sanctuary active.

    Yeah, yesterday on eLoL we tried a kamikaze combo - GF with Supremacy of Steel + Guarding Assault (that thing which reflects damage, not sure if I remember its name correctly), OP with Aura of Vengance + Aura of courage. Wanted to check the interaction between skills and we had a bugged DR. 1st try - me (OP) dead in <1s under sanctuary. Then we wanted to see how hard it can actually hit so I took Binding Oath and we stood in everything Scorpions threw at us (DR was bugged again). Result? Binding Oath explosion for 23kk!! damage. Not to mention that server froze for everybody for the time of fight, this however is a problem for another thread

    so for what i see/read, most GF and Tank Pala's know this DR/dmg spike bug is real, most DPS classes have seen it happen to tanks, but still the community doesn't come together asking for a fix on this. Dungeons are hard but not impossible, but with this bug all its harder than it is supposed to. even last night eCC last boss, all was going good, boss hp down to 1/2 wave big add wave clean shield u boss attack puff dead, when i had blocked that same attack 4 or 5 times before and no death.

    most times in my guild runs we take 1 or 2 guild member with the artifact that can revive, just revive me after bugs. (artifact that for some stupid reason and after 200-300 run in dread mini dung with purple still not drop, if we multiply it for 3 chars its close to 1k runs and 0 artifact, even eLol drops better).

    NPC damage with critical hits can be insane enough, but adding armor penetration and combat advantage on it makes things too ridiculous. Give the boss challenging mechancis, I can agree with, give them a big attack you either have to avoid or block, but do not give them a random damage element that can wipe the party because you aren't lucky enough.

    yes its exactly like that, be or not be luck, cuz i notice that with kv on if 1 of my party member get the bug i can die easy from it, and when i die with insane dmg interception from a party member, soulforge will not work u just die and thats it, u release and u are at campfire with soulforge icon, cuz it didnt saved u. this bug kills the tank, kill the party even kills soulforge proc. i have seen the same happen to my girlfriend on here Pala using Divine Protector, if the dmg intercepted kills her no soulforge proc.

    haha. I find it funny sometimes when I look at the damage numbers when I die. Last one i remember was a couple days ago taking ~1.5 million damage from Divine Protector when one of my teammates took a direct hit from Blackdagger's fire bomb. That was even without using binding oath. Just the straight damage. Also, soulforge didn't proc.

    If i decide to just mess around I'll use binding oath and see how how much damage i can get myself to take when it expires. I then share the line from the log with party chat and we all get a good laugh.

    I've done this also. If you really wanna have a laugh, have the paladin use the Yeti companion as an active. The Paladin will grow so huge you will only be able to see his legs.

    now back to what is important, this is such a huge problem, its on since day 1 of mod6, why dont we have the community screamming for a fix???
    I know whe are not that many, but we are so needed that every dps complain theres almost no tank for party with, and other than us hard core tank love complain.


    pls if u have friends that play with u and have seen this happen pls ask them to comment here and ask for a fix, it will make it easyer for all classes to gear.

    This bug doesnt have very obvious source and big part of the community still thinks that dungeons are insanely hard and tanks are 1 shot because of difficulty, while the truth is that not bugged tank with some external protection can take quite a lot of damage. Actually it took me like a month to figure whats happening, however at the beginning of mod 6 there were so many damage bugs it was hard to notice this one (especially with 2kkk hits from feytouched). Plus its only discussed in bug section, if somebody made a screen with a bugged tank taking 50kk+ binding oath (I think its possible on t2 last bosses worst enrage parts, in extreme situations I think even 100kk+ is doable) and posted it on general discussion it'd maybe spread wider. However at this time all that I'd love to have is a confirmation from devs that they are aware of this bug and are investigating the issue - this bug is one of the most important part of "dungeons are too hard" complaint

    And its even worse in game, when I played mainly as a tank it was ok, because I knew what was happening. Now Im pugging as a TR and I havent met any tank in game that knew about this bug. Gaming experience of some people really improved after they jumped to lava before scorpions/lostmauth to get rid of the bug

    this is just discussed in Bug report, cuz of forum rules, i started this post on general i was trying to make ppl realize its existence, that's why i link it to the original bug report, it was just a way of saying why its all so hard in dungeons and so, cuz this exist and as been reported long ago here... and forum manager change it to bug report, where almost no 1 goes and when they do it not to read about tanks.

    in any case i'm not that good with video or soo but i will try make 1, and try post it here maybe it helps, but this being on for so long and after all devs have done, like dmg reduction on last patch, don't tell no developer realize this when testing a dungeon. theres only 2 possible things going on or this bug doesn't happen in the internal test server, or devfs are aware cuz its WAI, like a way to make it harder to do and get gear making player pay to get better enchants and so cuz they think its a gear problem.

    and u are right, a GF/Pala tank cuz survive easy in t1 and t2 if there's not a big lag spike or this DR bug, i can adapt to different kind of pulls, to move so theres no mobs in my back, i can even change play still and skills, as i can learn attack timing and animation to avoid and expect them bug i cant adapt to something that happens for no reason and with no warning.

    Yea the intelligence of people on the main forums is rather... low. Hell some guy was trying to troll saying that the paladins were the only class that didn't die, and obviously doesn't play one nor could read that this bug affected every one. But then again, bad players will always blame someone but themselves for being bad players and why they can't complete specific content.

    like this its easy to read (colorwise), how some1 expaline that the GF (TANK) thats 200% dmg from 1 attack? its like having 0 Defense and take 2x more dmg

    every few min this happens in epic dungeons.

    As I said, the only thing I can think of that's happening is Armor Penetration on mobs is being multiplied to up to if not over 100%. And there is no way this can be intended either. Such randomness and unpredictability that renders every form of defense moot isn't fair or balanced game play.

    I can handle that I died because I had a brain <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> and stood in the fire, or I didn't block into and got thrown into the lava by the dragons wing beat, but what I can't handle is that I have over 300k health, I am blocking and have Sanctuary up, and I walk up to Lostmauth, and his basic attack one shots me through block, and all my health and I am dead before the first ten seconds of combat have even begun in a dungeon. It makes me look bad as a tank as is, and of course it has people still thinking mobs are hitting too hard in epic dungeons. And let's not even get into how difficult it makes the final bosses of Grey Wolf Den and Cragmire Crypts, one of which people exploit to beat.

    Definitely hope the Devs/Community Manager (s) will see this and flag it for review... Would be great to not get one shot when you're doing everything the way you're supposed to be doing it. :)
