This is not a VTK rant. All of you who have been victims will get a good giggle out of this.
I should preface this by saying I don't VTK lightly. You need to either be a real jerk or try to kick others for no reason for me to vote kick you. I've only kicked people a handful of times total.
So 2 friends and myself got our characters up to 13k gearscore this past week. We tackled Epic LoL and Shores and decided to try Castle Never yesterday.
We have a policy, if someone tries to vote kick one of us for no reason we kick them. We think it's fair. We load into CN and there is a vote kick on my screen as I load to kick my friend. Obviously with 3 of us it fails. One of my buddies throws up a kick, we kick. The other player types "Jerks" in chat and leaves.
We look around, we're at the Dracolich!
We are all in a guild together. If these guys weren't so quick to VTK and had inspected us 1st they'd have seen we are in a guild with decent GS. Instead they were jerks and just wasted who knows how many hours and were tossed from their own game.
Oops
Perhaps consider possible consequences before you randomly VTK for no reason

We've had this happen a couple of times too!
For the most part we run with a full 5 of us, but occasionally we'll need a random or 2.
It's always hilarious to see how people absolutely fail to see that there's 3-4 of us with the same tag. So we made it into a running joke. "Hey guys, how about we kick your (class), so that I can get all of the lewt!".
We generally only kick for a couple of reasons, mainly:
1. You tried to kick one of us.
2. You attempt to grab every profession kit in the place (this has been happening a lot more lately).
Honestly, just give it a go before you kick. You never know. Yes, yes, certain Dungeons "require" certain classes, we've all heard it. But honestly if you can beat eLoL or SoT with nothing but DPS you beat anything. I'm not saying it's efficient nor am I saying it'll work every time. You just never know...
Also, stop VTK Great Weapon Fighters...for the love of Gawd give us a chance haha. You may be surprised.
I used to only vote kick a person if they tried to vote kick others for no reason.
Recently I've found myself vote kicking people who are clearly out of their depth. We had a guy join us for one of the Epics yesterday. He died a bunch of times getting to the final boss, but we carried on with him anyway.
Unfortunately at the final boss the guy was dropping twice within the first minute of the fight, so after a couple of attempts with him (and him doing the same thing each time) we decided to kick him because we wanted to actually finish the **** dungeon. Finished it first time when he was replaced.
I totally agree here. They should mask the gs in instances all together. That is why there is a minimum gs to begin with. I have many many years experience playing every mmo that ever was. Just because im not spec'd they way you think i should be or whats" recommend " that means nothing. Its my play style. You want to kick someone because of a low gs? A player can be 13k gs and still not know what they are doing, game mechanics ect. Play it out see how they play before you get in a mad rush just because someone dosent play the way you want them to. Learn some patience people. You didnt know every single thing about NWN when you first started, show others some courtesy . And yea it vtk does back fire. My main is a healer and i keep a list. If your in my group and you kicked my alt for lame reasons, then be prepared to meet death! I wont heal ya.
Vote kicking seem rampant last night at the Protector's Party skirmish. I think I was vote kicked because I kept on saying no. It was like a minute into the skirmish, not even at the first encounter and there is the vote window. In these cases I'll just be the jerk because nothing had even happened, and it was all because the person was level 27, and the rest was 60's and a lone 56.
I just wanted to 27 to join in the fun and not have to worry about someone booting them because they are so low. To me what we had was enough of a force and did well enough through the skirmish and only missed one bonus time.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I just do not like kicking based on level or GS, but only doing so because they have disconnected.

You guys shouldn't vote-kick immediately but wait as loooooong as possible so they get the full payback for being a-hats.
