I'm not sure what it's called and can't seem to find it on options but it's really annoying when I'm about to kill someone, use my anvil of doom and my char spins around and hits someone behined me instead.....

No idea why the game chooses targets for me but it's really annyoing :/

Anyone know how to change this please ?

The closest you'll come is to hold CTRL when you have your targeting reticule on whatever it is you want to hit. This will "lock on" to that target until you release the CTRL button.

you also have the option to "aim at feet" and there is also an auto lock / target option in the options.. make sure you click through all the options (there are adv) I'm not at the screen but if no one responds by the time I get home I'll find it for ya

It's in your options, first tab, gameplay. There's there options. Two toggles and one drop down.

Just double-checked, two options, not three. First tab, Gameplay:

"Location Targeting Activation" - Drop down choice, "On Second Press" & "On Release."
"AoE Targeting Assist" - Toggle choice, "On" and "Off."

If you want targeting to function like it used to, change them to "On Second Press" and "Off."

Uhm.. Zeb? Not trying to criticize your modding or anything, but why was this thread moved to the MM if this thread is about game controls? Shouldn't it be in General discussion?

Common misconception. People forget or gloss over the rest of the purpose of this forum, or just don't ever bother to look and see its description.

Thanks for the replies guys, unfortunatly it still happens. I have tried all the options so I think it's just a game mechanic.

I'm glad it doesn't happen everytime so I will have to deal with my character randomly choosing his own targets sometimes and getting me killed lol

Mine does this too, always seems to turn to hit one of those stupid dragon fingys with the shield and thus waste my attack. In this case I think maybe the collision detection is off a bit, like the target has a bigger area than what is displayed. Just one of the many annoying things with our class, like lunging strike going to the back of the mob, griffon's using two charges when only pressed once, etc.

I don't know if you also get double at-wills, like I use Tide of Iron/Aggravating Strike once, but it will go and do it again without me pressing my mouse, and lock me in the animation so I can't get out of the red quick enough and end up having to block and run. Was annoying before mod 6, now it can be lethal.

Are you by chance pressing CTRL while fighting? Tapping CTRL will turn on the HardTargetLock while CTRL is pressed and will snap you around to whatever you locked onto, as you describe. I usually have a similar issue but only when I am using my shift mechanic. Sometimes my fingers are off and CTRL gets pressed along with Shift and makes me snap to a target briefly.

you may want to try this..

    /bind wheelplus hardtargetlock 1
    /bind wheelminus hardtargetlock 0

    /bind "shift+[" camzoomout
    /bind "shift+]" camzoomin
