I just put whole stacks of runestones in the refining window. There was a gui for it and everything. Refining is no longer the painful process it was? (Except the upgrade chance). Bait spotted.

That's interesting...I tried to put 4 lvl 4 enchants in a higher one to refine them and it kept saying I was trying to discard them (yes, I had the slot highlighted). So I had to split the tiny stack into singles and do it that way :(

I used the 'fill all slots' button. Try that! Though the stacks were R1 and R2 ones.

    Patch Notes: NW.45.20150416c.4
    User Interface
Refinement: Stacks of items may now be slotted instead of individual items. Up to five stacks of refinement items may be used at one times. The estimated total RP value of the stack is displayed when slotted and the actual total value (crits) is displayed when Refined.

Refining entire stacks works (can refine 5 stacks at a time) but I'm worried you're giving up all chances at crits doing this.
