Dreadtheft: is it supposed to function that way?

So leveling my SW a bit and been using Dreadtheft, pretty nice skill except that's it fires all wonky, is that intentional? Like while it's channeling and I'm trying to aim it in a specific direction it'll be firing off to the side no where near where my cursor is aiming. Basically you can't move around with the thing or it just goes all crazy, was just curious if that is how it's supposed to function or can I look forward to some improvements there?

If you see damage ticks, it's hitting something no matter what direction it looks to be pointed in. It helps to always try to target the thing with the most HP as a pivot point, then you can move around and zap everything that gets between the anchor and you, because then what you see matches what it's doing. It goes wonky when your anchor dies.

basically the beam IS actually aiming at your target you started aiming, and will remain fixed to that target even after its dead, regardless of where the beam SHOW where its going, just remember where it should be , and you will do fine.

This is int he #1 slot of things you must realize quickly in order to play SW

This and the fact the devs enjoy pissing all over the devoted SW players.

Not exactly. If it worked this way all the time it would be ok but it DOES switch targets occasionally after you first target dies. I have also seen others in dungeons that seem to "control" this beam at will. Once their target dies they switch to another target. I don't know if that is just a graphics glitch because I've tried everything to get this to switch and it appears to be random when it switches targets. This can't be by design.

The beam stays focused on the first target for a fixed amount of time. Something like 2 seconds or even 1 second before, it loses its focus. From then on til it is finished, you can point at anything.

Try this: Use DT on a dummy and strafe with A and D (don't change your camera angle) you'll notice for a majority of the time, your camera angle will keep your beam focused on the target, so your toon will angle it's head so that it keeps looking at that target. Keep strafing because about 1-2 sec before the DT is done, your beam will stop focusing on that target and will strafe with your character's movement. The best way to see this is if you beam a middle guy in a group of training dummies and strafe. eventually, as you strafe the other dummies will take hits as well. I tend to hold down CTRL on a slow-moving mob so that the beam stays focused the entire duration, or i just make sure the camera angle is centered on the mob I want to kill.
