When i tried to refine a new artifact mainhand using epic and blue weapons (main hands and off hands) and other items it no longer accepts them as refinement. Is this WAI? They were lvl 60.
This will cause blues to be not even worth identifying agian. Let alone green gear.

Probably it requires level 70 blue and purple weapons into it to refine it, as the new artifact gear is level 70. But that is only a guess.
If the new artifact MH ure talking about is the lvl 70 one, did u try to use level 70 blues and purples for that? Asking out of curiosity, since Im interested as well.

How did you get to level 70 and get a level 70 main-hand in 20 minutes?
I assume he completed the task to craft the artifact mainhand in the ToD campaign before today's maintenance then chose the new mainhand instead of the old one.
To refine a lvl70 item, you will need lvl70 greens, blues, and purples. The only lvl60 item that refines into the new artifact main hand is the old artifact main hand.
For an item to qualify for refinement, its level must be equal to or greater than the level of the item you are refining.

Right, for most people this means just keep dumping any blue drops into your unfinished lvl 60 artifact gear, then when you hit 70 drop the 60 gear into the new 70 artifact gear.
For those of you with all your artifact gear already at legendary, I guess you can buy a cheap lvl 60 belt and dump the blues into that, then use it to refine into a lvl 70 belt.

The conspiracy theorist in me says the free artifacts on quest chain completion was a test server only thing.
Why would it prevent you from refining it? Doesn't mean you can equip the item, but it can sit in your backpack all cozy and waiting.
