WOTC must be mad the game developing can't catch up with table top games.

im glad the delayed too there was too little time time add stuff that needed to be tested like revamped dungeons or glitches that keep happening(i get jumbled quests in some areas and i find the quest giving in 1 area to go back to an other kind of irritating). i hope they will add the lvl 70 gear with bonus now.

I was in preview for several hours yesterday and so many weird things happened that I am not surprised. I am really enjoying the new content btw.

Holding off on releasing a bugged product is great, but I have to wonder why it took so long to come to that decision, why it came down to the last minute to make it.

That they needed to wait should have been clear before the countdown to release client splash was started.

The reason it took so long to reach the decision is that Wizards of the Coast - which holds the license for D&D - is launching the corresponding pen & paper expansion on March 17, and they wanted Neverwinter Online to launch on the same date.

I'm sure the Cryptic devs have known for some time that meeting the deadline would result in a horribly unfinished mod, but they had to get the sign-off from WotC.

This is great news, and I look forward to Mod 6 to be released in a much more polished form in 3 weeks.

So this was the "unexpected" thing that they already anticipated.

So are they going to continue to have no patches for the entire next month as well then?

Why would they be mad? They're complimentary products, but totally separate products.

Their fans can enjoy the pen and paper release on the 17th, then pick up another product on April 7th. And the player experience is paramount to the prestige of the brand. Launching a product into the market that isn't ready is never a good idea.

Woot, time to grind out more linus, glory , seals and GG coins without spending 24 hours a day online!

Everyone should take advantage of the time!

This was a very good decision, considering the vast amount of feedback that wasnt even touched and the amount of revealed bugs!

This is one of the best moves Ive seen them make in awhile and Im very encouraged about it.

    Thank you!

It is contractual. THese mod date releases have been set by WoTC and were written in stone until today. PWE and Cryptic had no control on the release dates.

How can some of you have nothing to do, Im never caught up.

Even if you just have "3" main type toons, there is so much grinding now, Ill never be caught up.

FINALLY! A good decision. We all knew this wasn't even close to being ready. Would have been extremely painful if it went live like this.

Im not caught up. I have one main toon now, and I just refuse to do Tiamat again. =/ another 50 times for the last boon? which is currently bugged? Nawp. Not gonna do it. <carvey> NAAAAAAAAAWT GUN ADO EET. </carvey>

Just waiting for new content/new rewards .. Not in a rush to grind RP because new mod will let RP come to me, instead of me going to it.

Play one char, enjoy it. Do some GG, some PVP, some Foundry, some Draconic Heralds.. change it up, keep it interesting. Wait for new content, Don't burn out!

Making a decision 4 days ahead of the announced release date is a good thing. You need brains to understand this.

I fully agree with this decision, Kudos to Cryptic for being able to convince WotC to delay. Question about the double exp weekend though: Is it still this upcoming weekend? 13-15 or will it be pushed back to the week before the new launch?

This is awful,i can understand that many people do not like some changes that are made ,so use 7 april for another maintenance to change whatever needed, but bring mod 6 out in 4 days as was anticipated, this way at least we can test it out ourselves. If you don't like whatever pvp change are made then stop pvp til april, others just wanna enjoy the new maps and use this time for the new boons and such.Don't postpone the whole thing, its not just about pvp its also about pve.

Echoing the thoughts of most people in this thread. Glad they are delaying it to give us a better product! I know alot of people who are coming back for this mod and a smooth launch is critical.

    Wise decision.
“He raised his staff. There was a roll of thunder. The sunlight was blotted out from the eastern windows; the whole hall became suddenly dark as night. The fire faded to sullen embers. Only Gandalf could be seen, standing white and tall before the blackened hearth.”

Seriously following the previous time schedule this one would've been on the late end already but another 3 weeks? We want new mods every 3 to 3 1/2 months! Another 3 weeks of nothing to do ingame.... Bad decision imho, of course there'll be bugs upon release but it's never going to be perfect.

This is definitely the right decision, but lets not get overact with so much undeserved praise. They still failed to uphold their commitment by a significant margin. Ultimately, they failed.

Normally I wouldn't be so harsh. Everyone makes mistakes. However, as we have seen buggier content which is being rushed out, it is clear that this has been an issue in the development process for a while that should have been dealt with back then to avoid a situation like this now.

Thank goodness. Better to get it right than toss it out incomplete/incorrect. I'm glad Cryptic was able to get WotC and/or PWE on board with this decision.
