Black ice gear in Mod 6?

What do you think will happen to black ice gear when mod 6 hits? since the gear lvl is only 60 will it become obsolete when the lvl 70 PvP and Pve gear comes? Should i just stop gathering black ice alltogether to empower my gear and save triumph seals and glory for the elemental pvp gear? what do you think will happen to black ice gear and IWD?

    There are elemental PVP gear available in mod 6. Depends which stats you want

    Currently, on Preview the new Tier 4 Elemental PVP gear blows Black Ice gear out of the water. Unless they add a fourth tier to the Black Ice empowerment, it is no contest.
    PSA: You don't need to grind Spinward Rise for your Elemental artifact main hand if you have some AD lying around. You can craft it via the Tyranny of Dragon's campaign screen.

    I'd like to see a lvl 70 craftable black ice set that you need corrupted or purified gear to craft. For example, purified black ice armor would be a crafting ingredient for the much better lvl 70 version, etc.

    I can't imagine why anybody would grind IWD for 35 days if the gear didn't improve with the next module.

    I'm curious about this. I haven't had time to get far enough to see this gear. Is it just PvP or can it be used similar to BI gear? I have 3 toons with BI gear and I truly like it but if this Tier 4 can be used in PvE, I'm all for it. Besides, my DC has the Templar set and I'd like to get a better set than that.

    you could also grind 35 days for the boons ;)

    that is most likely the better option, i assume there is some boost however i hope the new pvp gear has the blue slots to and IS better since you have to farm for glory not just pve for the best pvp gear.

    You can wear the new armor just like any armor. It's not restricted to PvP maps or anything like that.

    They just call it PvP gear because A) it has the PvP stat, tenacity and B) you have to earn currency from PvP to be able to buy it

    I can only comment from the GF's perspective, but the Elemental gear has the exact same stats as the current Grim/Profound PVP gear but just bigger numbers. Much bigger.

    For certain classes I see no problem with using them in PVP and PVE. The GF's Elemental 4/4 set bonus with the adequate feats (stamina boons & Shield Talent) can extend my guard duration to 20 seconds and it loads up heavily on defensive sets, so ideal for a GF that needs to run KV and play buff bot in a party.

    Yes, the new T4 PVP gear does have overload slots on the helmets and bracers/gloves.

    Black ice forging has been updated to rank 5 now. there are a few different epic sets of level 70 gear that will become craftable.
    (no weapons so far that are listed for black ice forging, PVP or PVE)
    I would like to when and how are going to be able to start crafting them on the preview.
    Are the new items needed to make the upgraded versions going to drop from HE's?
    From Kessels retreat?
    or obtainable via Vendor? (checked the Black ice vendor, still only shows the level 60 items)
    Will there be set bonuses added to the new non PVP gear?

    I would link one of the HR's set screenshots, but due to the "rules" of the forum and or causing alot of unwanted reply's due to their stats.

    What i can tell you is that it is going to cost 75K worth of Black ice and 15 Unified Elements to achieve Rank 5 Black Ice forging
    (The Unified elements can only be made via Alchemy Rank 25 or success rewards various HE's in the new zones)

    Just a clue what it will take to make one set i want using the black ice forging for my HR
    +20 Unified elements and 114,400 Black ice
    (not including the other materials and an initial Epic Item that has not been listed nor revealed how to obtain)
    Already done the math, farmed the black ice and now in the process of refining it all..

    The unified mat is some very rare reward from the vigil quests you can do every hour ... I got one from a vigil quest in the drowned shores. Supposedly that same mat will be craftable I assume with alchemy since you can craft the blue version with that profession. My assumption you can craft unified elements with alchemy probably as some rare task like purple shirt and pants.

    It's a good thing I have over 100k Unrefined Black Ice stored up. Now to refine it...
