Request: Add Residuum to Supplies on Preview

Residuum is a pretty staple commodity for almost all professions in the game. While it's pretty easy to come by on the regular server via the AH, there's almost never any up for grabs on Preview. Naturally the value of AD on Preview is less relevant, so I suspect most people just sell it when they pick it up. If we want to make, see, and test various professions items fully, we need residuum. But farming it is really unproductive. Any chance that Residuum could be placed on the supplies market to be purchased for gold on the Preview Server? Seems a very useful function for those of us who like to get a good look at all the profession offerings when a change comes out. Thanks.

Just copy live characters with a stash of residuum over to Test, as many times as needed.

That is a very odd work around to be honest. It works but this is the only pts server I've ever seen that doesn't toss you ings and money to be able to easily test every new feature. It's just odd how it works here.

Problem is as soon as you copy over a toon, you lose profession progress (the copy doesn't have access to the new stuff). Had it occurred to me before I started unlocking levels, I'd have made sure, but I didn't have the foresight. I've already backed up with a copy & started over, but made the request for the future. Seems silly to have to jump through the extra hoops over a nothing commodity. charononus has the right of it.

I meant, make extra copies of your Live characters that have materials and mail the residuum, etc. from the extra copies to the character that you are actually leveling the profession on. Also, if you have a few high level profession workers, mail copies of those to your main character so they can run the profession efficiently in all 9 slots.

I agree that it would be easier to test stuff if the devs made it, um, easier to test stuff -- but this is not the only mmo I've played that was stingy on the test server.

I can understand the devs wanting people to play through the game with normal leveling gear to test how a new class plays, but when dungeons are unlocked it would be nice to run them with decent gear so we don't have a skewed idea of the difficulty.

Yup, good call. I'm a donkey for not figuring that out. Thanks!

No worries, that's what we're all here for. :)

Thanks all for helping him out.

Just remember, if you want to stock pile other things up besides professions, they need to be in your characters inventories or character bank prior to transferring. Account Banks and Guild Banks do not transfer.
