So, before I transmute to Tiefling Orb...

I just want to make sure this is correct. Honestly, it's not pointing the same way as the one that's sitting on the ground (really, a FLOATING ORB sitting on the ground??)

    Yeah... good luck. You might want to try going onto NeverwinterPreview server and test it out over there.
    Could be facing any direction, better verify seeing one in-game before wasting any money since there is NO WAY TO PREVIEW FASHION ITEMS OR TRANSMUTES.

    That's correct. But assuming they are BoE you can't sell them in AH anymore afterwards if you don't like the look.

    You can however go to the item, tell it to change appearance, and that'll show what the new item will look like once you slot it, without binding it.

    The current ones. But I think the winter weapons were not for example. I remember selling them. Or weren't those not just transmutes but scaling weapons? Maybe I'm wrong on that.

    The winter weapons are now pretty much the only event appearance change item that is BoE. CTA skins are account bound on pickup.

    Eldarth is probably correct that this one will now be tilted on the wrong plane. Most older items are.
