Can we get a PVP forum?

Most of the forum sections seem to be taken over by people giving feedback or opinions about PVP or talking about PVP builds. It's hard to weed through these to find the PVE things. Would it be feasible to split the forums up between PVP and PVE? It seems like it would be much easier on forum goers.

It's something we'd really like to do. Alas, it's not something we're going to do just yet. Hopefully in near future, ergo soon™. :(

    Safe travels,

    Signed.

Why they aren't split up is beyond me.

Itll happen whenever they decide that pvp with worth investing time into. It should tell you something when the game has been out for about 2 years now and has NO new pvp maps or gametypes at all.

It should also tell you something when things like TRs in the current state have gone SO long without ANY addressing by the DEVs that they dont really care about balancing PVP AT ALL.

So sadly, this wont happen anytime soon.

It would be a travesty to further segregate an entire community of people from the main communication port of the game.

How would that improve communication or better improve lobbying for pvp balance concerns or improvement suggestions?

Far too often, <PvE/P> commentary drowns out <PvE/P> commentary. As well, it keeps people from having to posts things like, "In <PvE/P>" as well as "Do you <PvE/P>?," "Are you talking about "<PvE/P>?," or "I do not <PvE/P>." In other words it would help to keep confusion from the two play styles in comments and feedback. Furthermore, having them combined only causes tension and causes the community to segregate themselves.

That was a great observation but failed to address my question.

As a person who enjoys PvP, the community has the perception of being intentionally neglected. It seems to me that if PvP oriented players were separated from the PvE oriented players it would further aid in that perceptual neglect.

I personally feel and can attest to it working, coming from the MMO Media Industry from 1998 to present, that in games with both PvP and PvE, it is integral to have a PvP forum in order to see and properly process PvP Feedback, else it all becomes a jumbled mess, like we have now and nothing gets done as the community wishes, resorting into "you're ignoring us" sense of feeling, when in actuality, it's more like that the information from the community just is being lost to the void of every type of gameplay.

On that note, we also need a Professions Forum!

And how do you think the PvE people will feel if they find out at the next preview patch notes they are getting another nerf knife handed to them because of PvP "adjustments"? I think they'd prefer to have a say in the matter before things like this happen.
That's what the Preview Forums are for already, for all players to stay up to date. The Class Forums won't go anywhere either. The only change would be to move PvP Topics from Gameplay and Combat to it's own Player vs. Player forum, "PvP Gameplay and Combat" and rename this one to "PvE Gameplay and Combat," as well as possibly adding a forum for Professions. No other forum structures would change.

A better solution would be to have [PVE] and [PVP] tags on threads

Indeed! This is a great idea. I'll see if that would be possible to do as an alternative. We'd like to have as few forums as possible, for sure, and this would be a great way to go about that. We did discuss that a while back, but it wasn't possible for some unknown reason at the time.

I noticed this forum is using a popular generic template so that might be the reason. People can manually place [PVE] or [PVP] on their threads instead.

Well, there is the TR section of the "Classes" subforum. All the pvp happens there, no other class even tries.
Russian leaderboard first page. The proof.

That solution doesn't work, as the moment I try to make a thread pertaining only to pve, some pvp player comes in and comments on it, giving a pvp perspective, even though the words PVE are in the thread title. At the same time, I am sure there are PVE players who do the same thing on threads marked explicitly for PVP.
