I think this was brought up before, but I haven't seen a post on it in ages.
Weapon dying. This USED to be possible. You could use up dye packs or buy Zen dyes, and then customize a weapon with them.
Is it possible to reactivate this ability, please? You could sell more Zen dyes if people could dye weapons. You could sell more dyes on the Auction House which in turn makes Alchemy (and professions) even more useful.
Maybe, please?

You can get Questing Dye Packs and Dungeon Dye Packs on your weapons. They're ugly, irremovable and have ruined the appearance of various weapons (e.g. Sword of Tyranny), but they have the developers' blessing.
What is so taboo about being able to apply dye (of my choice) on weapons!? Please bring this option back.
I'm going to guess that it causes more information to have to go thru the server and client on everyone near you with the many more animations a weapon goes thru. Especially with enchantments. This is just a guess, but it would explain a lot.

I think what should be done is to add Weapon Specific dyes to the Zen store and future Event Rewards (like CTAs) with hues meant specifically for Weapons. I'm guessing the reason they disabled weapon dying is because some of the dyes did some really nasty things to weapons. That or the possible issues Charononus posted above my post here.

Yeah, I figure they got rid of the ability to dye weapons because someone had an idea to monetize it but this game is so short on staff it never got done and they just removed the script they already had (/genaddwindow dye_root) rather than just adding a button to dropdown (separating transmute and dye item) UI and letting people use it.
If I remember correctly, they said that having a rainbow sword totally looked weird in the game setting and they didn't like it.
Meanwhile, there are still people who make disgusting dye combos on armor that makes them look like walking technicolor puke.
Accursed Diabolist does anyway. It's a nasty orange and pink colour scheme, very pavement pizza. Combined with the weird, ugly "stick some pointy bits on" design, it looks like an extreme Jean Paul Gaultier cheese dream. Thank goodness that the Dragon Cultist fashion set with some black dye allows a self-respecting warlock to dress with some level of dignity

I like my peg leg and courtesan shirt. Also yeah the AD set needs a dye set, it was actually bad enough where I bought some dye's off the ah and that's the first cosmetic I've ever paid for in about 10 years of mmos.

Though if I recall correctly, they do put the random dungeon dye pack on some weapons.
The Artifact shield they have as an off-hand IS dyable.
A Golden Dragon Shield (off hand) was transmuted to Volcanic Shield, and dyed with a Swashbuckler Pack.
This may help in tracking down how to set it back to dying all weapons main and offhand.
U can dye all kind of shields. Its only weap u can dye afaik.

As a possibility for a fashion statement in Module 7 I'd like it mentioned again the possibility of dying weapons coming back in as an option - please?

Not sure what the point of weapon dye would be if the enchant visuals aren't able to be disabled. Currently, I don't think I could even tell you what color my bow is, because its always flashing from the Vorpal and PF enchants I use. There are also so many bits of information flowing around you at any time that are customized, I doubt that is the reason. More than likely it was not working as intended, and they fixed it. Whether they planned to go back is anyone's guess.
My short list of things they could, IMO, easily do to make a fortune in zen sales:
1: Weapon dyes
2: Enchant Visual Remover
3: Fashion Storage (IE STO, you find it, you keep it, no charge to change)
4: Mount Dyes or a reskinnable mount
5: Resource Storage for personal and guild
I could go on and on. For a company that is in this to make money, there seems to be a lot of things they refuse to do that would make money.

I understand people don't want rainbow vomit weapons, but a little shading is fine. At least metallic colors, maybe?

Me too! I loved the look of the wookeen greasword with the nightmare dye on it.
It went from gross gold and green garbage to black, red and gold amazingness.
Until Neverwinter I had never before seen functionality and character customization removed from a game.
Usually its added and monetised.
