Huh... perhaps this is the "unexpected" thing to come with mod 6... not to sure bow I feel about locking a new race behind a sketchy rng system...
Not to mention that, unless it's a BoE token of some kind, it would be a worthless thing if you could get it more than once, (unless the RNG mechanism replaced that possible drop with another, if it were to come up again).

What is the difference between $75 Dragonborn and RNG Metallic Dragonborn (beyond potential color palette)?
Probably different racial stats, and potentially slightly different character details, (like different spike/frill options, etc).

Another dragon named lockbox - does that mean more dragons in mod 6? I hope not!
My guess is this is an inter-mod lockbox.

This is a picture of the Silver-Scaled Cleric Disciple, which looks like a "Metallic Dragon" so it's the same as Dragonborn just different skins (more recycling FTW)

"Guardian Fighter has a secondary role of a leader and is a warrior who fights with a shield and heavy armor, thus able to fight with a high degree of survivability and control the battle around him or her."
This confuses me a bit

So we basically have 3 dragonborn companions now...
Why no orc or knoll companion yet?! SOMETHING different.
Isn't knox an orc. Well that's what it said in it's tooltip at one point :P
If it wields a two-handed weapon, it's an orc.
Sure, all of the GWFs might LOOK like dwarves, drow, and halflings; but they're all secretly orcs.

Iron golem? PERFECT! My main character is a mage who likes to create golems, and I've always wished I could have a golem companion for her. Now I finally can. Thank you Cryptic!
Neverwinter players are stubborn things....until you strip them down to bone. (Cursed players, my flowers, MINE!) Oh how I plotted their demise.

You'd trust a wikipedia entry that anyone can edit?
A world to defend
A city to protect
innocents to save
"Why?" They ask "they hate you"
We're heroes it's what we do.

Blindly trusting a wiki? Nay. Looking and ensuring legitimacy based on the credentials of the editor, indeed. For, checking the history shows it only had been edited by Two30, System OP for gamepedia.
There's a disclaimer at the top of the Dragonforged Lockbox wiki article for a reason.
Also, which one of you pests made the Metallic Dragonborn wiki article that simply says "WOOT?" I have fragments of information about the race, but nothing solid enough to publish even with a disclaimer.
sounds likea mid mod changeup on new lockbox drops

This info needs to be taken with a grain of salt, since it is on the preview server (meaning it could change).
Racial Stats: +2 points to any 2 attributes (just like regular dragonborn)
+3% Power and +3% Crit (just like regular dragonborn)
+3% healing from all spells and abilities (2% less than regular dragonborn)
+3% hit points
Also, if you hold your curse over the 'learn more,' it has the same message for procurement as that of Dragonborn, i.e., that it can be gained by the founder's pack. So, it is listed as a legendary lockbox drop AND as a founder's pack item.
Of course, I am unsure whether any of this is correct or will be implemented. I will wait and see.

Kinda wish it would be unlocked for people who already purchased the dragonborn pack... Not gonna bother buying keys to get 3% extra hp (although would be nice).
It's a "free" version of dragonborn race, like drow are free version of Menzo Renegades, etc.. But this times, the original race still payable, and the new free race is not totally free : need a token from the lockboxe.
The active bonus of 400 HP on that Iron Golem companion looks a bit ... tame? Especially for an epic - based on other companions with flat stat increases surely it should be 1200 HP.
You are correct! We are currently aware of the issue with the Iron Golem's active bonus and it will be fixed in the next release. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused. Rest assured that the active companion bonus will be corrected to +1200 hit points in the near future.

As I said before - I'm a half silver dragon. I might hire another servant. MAYBE.... Kobolds are hard to hire here.

When someone else posted an image to a metallic dragonborn companion, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to assume that this will happen...

I'm pretty sure artifact rings will arrive the day after I finally manage to craft a couple of those Jewelcrafting double slot rings...
