Winter Fest - Twilight Run Speed/Camera Bug

Hello,

I've been experiencing some type of gameplay bug during the Twilight Run portion of the Winter Simril Festival at Twilight Tor. Immediately after going each speed boost pad, my game camera would spaz out and zoom in & out really fast. It made me nauseous.

Also, the speed pads themselves don't seem to be working correctly and doesn't give the correct speed boost. I have also found a "leak" where the speed boost pad seem to be affecting regular non-race gameplay outside the boundaries of the Twilight Run course; this can be found near the gate of Monsters on Ice just before players go down the stairs towards the fishing lake.

I hope this gameplay bug gets patched soon.

Thanks =)

Did you change your default field of view? If so, try setting it back to default: /gfxsetdefaultfov 55

As for the slow bug, the only way I can get moving at correct speed again is to dismount. Never had it happen while not mounted. It's like it somehow forgets you're mounted and you start moving at running speed.

The speed area outside the race, down the hill from the Shrine, is meant to be there as it is used to get to a secret place up on the side of the cliff overlooking the fishing area. The one on the steps though is strange.

Same here when I play with my GWF, it's not so visible with my DC though. Looks like run mode (GWF, when you press Shirt key) toggles on and off very fast. Veeery annoying

For speed bug, just dismount and then mount again, as zeb stated before. Worked 100% for me.

EDIT: another thread with the same issue http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?813271-Twilight-Run-quot-Rubberbanding-quot-camera-during-race

This stuttering effect also sometimes happens when jumping the lake onto the cliff. For me it's playable but those with wimpier cards and CPUs, might cause siezures.

I don't have stuttering problem but I usually don't get the speed boost at the race, especially during the event slot... It looks as if at some (random) point it was toggling the speed boost off altogether for unknown reason. Happens when running on a mount or on foot, equally. My typical race is 3 failed gates. And this wasn't happening last year.

Some of my mounts will "forget" the speed boost thing, others don't. I suspect it may be specific to some mounts, though, as my Sylvan Stag *never* has that problem, but my Small Forest Stag regularly has that problem, sometimes in the middle of the track. The fix is to just dismount, then remount.

My White Tiger and Guardian horse (forget the name off hand) both have the speed bug happen often. I haven't noticed it on my Hero of the North spider though. I had it happen last year on the Feywild Pack unicorn a lot but haven't ran it much this year on characters that use that mount.

I had the camera bug too. I found, sometimes, Plex interferes with the game on my computer. The speed thing by the steps is most likely an overlap. There's a mini speed boost hill next to it. I have the nightmare, dragon and clydesdale mounts, my clydesdale seems to get the slow bug more often than the others.

The camera bug seems to more often occur with my White rank mounts, not so often with the Green, and only on occasion with the Purple rank mount. I don't know if this has something to do with the built in speed bonus of each ranking or just my bad steering on faster mounts.

For reference - the mounts my main uses

Mr Ed - White rank horse
Not Bacon - Green rank war boar
Strawberry - Green rank Sunite pony
Wolfie - Green rank shadow wolf
    Beans - Purple rank nightmare

...and for the cleric it's Dust, a White rank horse.

Hey! This is a great point: My Sylvan Stag, Clydesdale, and other "Natural Epic Rank III" Mounts never have the problem (or so rarely I can't remember the last time.) But my Small Forest Stag was a Blue Rank II that was upgraded to Rank III - and it has the problem pretty consistently. I should try the Hellhound on my Warlock (it's a rank II upgraded to rank III) just to see if it happens there, too.

You just may be on to something here.
