Community Guide: Tips for completing Tiamat

1. organize your instance into 5 separate Balanced groups(One to each platform white, blue, red, green, black).

This is probably the most important issue with this instance as many keep suggesting "let's all zerg one head it should work". That sentiment is completely and utterly wrong, you need to take the heads down all at the same time you cannot waste time going from head to head it will never work.

2. With the clerics you need to have the 2 side groups (black & green, white & blue) send one member of their party to help the middle cleric so that all activate the rune simultaneously.

3. Do not kill your head below 10% as this will cause upon the next phase rotation to come back with 25% hp. So if one group is struggling next to you hold off going lower than this and killing the head in the 2nd rotation. Then when the 3rd rotation comes you have all the heads at around 10-20% hp left and should be easily completed.

Please Leave constructive posts in this thread as I want to get people more informed on how to complete this instance.

EDIT:
I repeat do NOT have yourself set to invisible to friends only or invisible no one can invite you to a party.

When making groups there are braziers of each color to have people gather at so every other group knows which ones have formed and which have not.

    ye, too bad you cant organize pugs.... you would have an easier time lining up headless chickens

    If you never try you will never complete the tiamat encounter.

    Ok now type the instructions in, Portuguese, German, French, English, Korean and Spanish and make a macro to spam zone with it. Congrats you did the work the devs were unwilling or too dense to see the need for. Now all you have to do is pray teenagers, stoners, idiots and lagged out to the fifth dimension people will be willing or able to act on it.

    Was trying....
    Didnt end to well
    I got 4 other ppl, we got green ( which imo si the worse) in fist phase of fight with heads we get our to 20% left it.... but omg... white in this time was not touched, blue was to 60%, black was 90%, red was 80%. Two idiots went with my party at green, liek we needed them... in second phase one cleverguy from my party was not lisen, and he took green to 0%, when rest of us was focusing on black, red and blue alsmot didnt moved, so we bring in third phase red to 20%, and white to 30... thats all we could do as 5 man party, be evrywhere, cover idiots...

    We cant do this if we cant have trusted ppl, let us make raid of ppl we trust and we know. let us at lest go in 5 man premade, so we can spit and take those pugs under our comand... If it will be look liek this, nobody will ned tiamat until mod 10, when we will be able to solo it...


    Devs never r surprising, great job as usual...

    Also another tip for those doing this. I repeat do NOT have yourself set to invisible to friends only or invisible no one can invite you to a party.

    I've finished it 3 times already.
    heres how:

    1. get at least 4 decent groups (talk to guilds and friends list) WITH GREATER OR PEFECT WEAPON ENCHANT
    2. tell the daamn DC's dont use sunburst
    3. least GF and healing DC as possible, get all DPS (sorry guys but this instance is a dps race)
    4. enter tiamat asap. from that point on you organize which instance you'll be going to (you can switch instance inside)
    5. leave heads at around 12.5% then finish it off at 3rd round
    6. vanguard's banners on heads if possible - that yields more dps than your stupid shiny DC sigils.
    7. when you die, dont spam POMOCY! HILFE! YARDIM EDIN! AJUDA! etc. etc. walking back from campfire only takes a few seconds.

    Pretty much this. Especially at the Banner part instead of Sigil, another daily spam.. then what?

    Also lmao @ 7 , don't forget "A L'AIDE !"

    1) Move out of the red, don't just stand in it
    2) Buy a lesser soulforge unless you're certain you won't die
    3) Observe around you, If another area needs help, go and help!

    done it only twice and both fail

    there is a problem with this raid
    take lot of time to prepare, get in, fight...
    at the end you die cause of leg, ppl disconnect and go try to organize 25 ppl...

    again only 2 times. but so long and if you fail for reason you cant control...

    What about CD time on artefacts? Last fail run I grabbed the blue one. Saw aoe coming, fired it off and all was fine. Then when second aoe was incoming my gem was still on 6 seconds CD and survived only because of SF, but ppl who didn't have it died all around me.
    Actually I think I saw second person with same blue gem, though I could just be seeing things. How many dragon soul artefacts of one kind are there really?

    If you read the description, it cleanses your allies from Tiamat's attack, whichever the appropriate colour you're fighting. Best thing is, when you see the big red aoe from the dragon's head, sprint/dodge/run the hell outta there, then back in. If you see another person that couldn't get away fast enough, then use the gem to help them. EG, if they're frozen by white, cast white gem from potion slot.

    Tip: look for and pay attention to the peeps with the Tiamat's Bane tag for their character....
    Threat level 60 Guardian Fighter
    Gloom level 60 Control Wizard
    Dusk level 60 Trickster Rogue

    So these are about the aoe attacks of the heads of tiamat. If a head is failing and you need to help them this info might be useful even without a corresponding gem color.

    White-- smaller aoe than all of the heads, it freezes people for a long time then leaves a frostbite something on the ground that slows everyone in it.

    Blue- in most cases a 1 shot aoe attack, some people especially HR´s can spam dodge the aoe and live, otherwise hope your soulforge can help you.

    Red -- fire breath, dodgeable and dot can be potted. A gf with KV can pretty much help everyone.

    Green- this is hard, a very large poison aoe that leaves a poison " lake " (hah). I only able to survive this by using my waters artifact then using my stone of health and spam dodging. I think GF, DC, GWF can mitigate this pretty much with the help of using pots, heals etc.

    Black- a large aoe attack, I manage to dodge it too but I rarely fight black because most people are into this anyway.
