The Sharandar Corellon Star detail, the big tall shrine with vines and a green orb in the center, is now transparent. It used to be solid wood, now you can see through it. I noticed that in your contest entry, but thought it was the way you had it turned. But nope. Now the shrines I have in my quests have a transparent star. *sigh* I cannot begin to understand how these things get changed?
And then... I have a single drow assassin encounter. Today, instead of doing the assassin combat skills, she was just sword fighting. Will have to test that a couple more times to know for sure, but didn't look right at all. Update: Finally saw her do an assassin-type skill.
I haven't played in a few days/weeks (mainly I only log in to pray like once or twice a week)
but the sad state of the foundry really doesn't make me want to come back to NW, it's sad because I enjoyed it a lot, but I think I'm a bit burned out by the game now...

Does this mean that we can't do dead bodies anymore? Or no "freshly" dead bodies--they all have to be skeletons?

I just tried it - I was gonna suggest just using "Dead Body" behavior but of course a "Dead Body" behavior is placed in any random facing position so you can't align them any which way. I also just discovered a "Dead Body" can actually randomly end up "face up" instead of being always face down. And when they are face up there arms and legs are sprawled out -- AND they are doing the breathing animation! ...AND their eyes are OPEN. :rolleyes: Hehe -- that's the twitchiest corpse I ever did see!
Is your "shader" turned on high setting? That seems to affect a LOT of things it absolutely shouldn't.

Oh, it gets better. In my Foundry quest at one point you take the clothes off a dead critter. I despawn the clothed dead one and spawn one with Fomorian armor (as close as to "costume-less" as it gets). Sometimes -- not always, but sometimes -- you hear it's "death" scream as the new one appears!

Yeah, I always run with Show High Detailed Objects and Shader Quality on High. For any foundry authors, I suggest you do as well so you can see what things actually look like on normal settings.
It sounds like there are more and more things that have been messed up with this new update, but since I've been back I haven't even been able to get the game to load. It keeps having fatal errors and crashing. This is all making me wonder if it's really worth the effort to try to start playing this game again...
Because when you are knocked down, you have to get back up again. It's worth trying then failing than failing at trying. Each patch has both problems and solutions. It probably won't be as bad as you would think.

Bardaaron - I had to change my firewall permissions when Mod 5 came down. Have you tried updating/uninstalling/reinstalling your video drivers? Do any other programs have similar problems?
My current problem is many ideas, but no cohesive story. It also seems no one is playing foundry quests and is too busy farming Tiamat instead. I guess that gives me time to find the story and research some background information. In the meantime, I updated my old quest, (I know broken record, but I put a lot more work into it, so I'm trying not to feel as though that effort was wasted) it just seems an action quest lost amongst the purgatory of farming quests waiting to be featured again.

Some people have had some luck changing graphics configuration to use DX9 instead of DX11. I think launcher options can do that.
Also apparently uninstalling DirectX9 and re-installing it has helped others.

@eldarth, if you are talking about the options button on the Neverwinter launcher, it doesn't give me any control over DX version, unless it is very cunningly disguised as something that sounds nothing whatsoever like that.

Ah, nope, my bad, launcher doesn't have that option (directly).
Try this...
1. Run the Neverwinter launcher.
2. Open the Options dialog.
3. Add the following to the Advanced command line field: -d3d11Enable 0

That big red rock used to be gray like the others before M5. Now it's blood-red at one end and gradually turns to onyx black at the other.
