Unable to claim/reclaim Tricorn Captain's Hat from Closed Beta event?

Recently I made a new character it would make sense to use it on, and went to the Reward Claims agent to grab it along with the rest of the account-wide things I have that I give to new chars; and noticed that it was red and has a message that I need to have participated in the Crash The Server event on 3/23/13, which I did, as evidenced by still having it on my CW and HR(And I think my DC has his still but I haven't played him in months except invoking/leadership).

I wondered if it was just not letting me claim it because the new character was a Dragonborn and might not be able to have it show up properly, and switched to other chars, including a recent wood elf CW made to test appearance/stat rolls, with the same effect. My old CW/HR have it in red because I already own it on them from eons ago, but my TR seems at some point to have lost his. I don't remember ever discarding it, but it's possible I did it by accident. He gets the same message as the new characters, that you had to have participated in the event.

It's a minor thing, but it's annoying. All my old fashion items from various promo codes still work, as well as companions. Is anyone else from back then having the same issue, or has my account just somehow gotten unflagged?

I remember reading that people have been unable to claim the two mounts from PC Gamer codes as well, although they apparently still get these in the mail so they can keep the initial item if they really want it.

That leads me to believe it's probably not just you, though I don't personally own any of this stuff.

Whoa - I haven't noticed it being unclaimable (I actively use it on my GWF fashion with the Peg-Leg).

If I remember I'll go in there to check if I can still reclaim mine. Either way I'll try to remember to report back to this thread.

UPDATE: Confirmed: it's there, but I can;t claim it - showing the red "requirement" text.
I suspect it's been completely depreciated and no longer available to anyone and probably just a matter of time before it disappears completely.

That's upsetting. :< Annoying that all my other random fashion/companion stuff from codes later on still works. I knew about older *codes* not being able to be redeemed(The horses, the Mercenary from that Polish magazine), but I didn't think they'd unflag accounts from being able to claim stuff they already had access to from events. :P

A shame. I like that hat a lot better than the ugly one you have to grind 9,001 hours of PvP for. :P
