You most certainly have one but the advocates are revealing themselves on a strictly voluntary basis.

It sounded from another post like Cryptic/PWE was maybe even a little hesitant about the roles being made public, since they could be contentious. But they left it up to the individuals.

Goodness, I didn't realise that. However, given how toxic discussion has been in The Barracks of late, I don't blame him/her if they choose to keep their head down for a bit.

The Sentinel advocate then. Quite a brillant move by him btw. Tankyness and damage. Meanwhile, the Destroyer advocate must have been sleeping.

If he exists, and is who I think it is, the class is dead... well, the class is dead anyway. but this time with signature "shut up, and leave the game".

Really? It's been nerfed? I switched to the build a day or so ago, to try it out. It still rocks for me, man if it's already been nerfed, I can only imagine what it was like.

who do you think it is :D

    our GWF advocate is IanTheWizard!!

maybe close to that... in any case, what feedback we have to offer ? class "x" have a demand, we identify and give a suggestion.. the dev instead of meeting your target audience (with proper precautions) creates a stupid mechanic to satisfy your creative ego. and the tragic thing is: this demand remains ignored.

    i dont see the point...

There is a Class Balancing live stream tonight I think but for some reason they will be talking about DC and TR.

I guess the GWF advocate is hiding, and it's understandable. But in case it actually exists I have some points for him. On another note I also watched the Balancing class live stream and saw how the info was easily distorted and lost between what community says in their posts and what the devs actually understand, so I'll keep it simple.

    - Senti has twice the HP of Destr
    - Senti has damage reduction
    - Senti has more damage than Destr

@vrotix44, not quite true. I have played destroyer for a long time. Here is the break down, in order for Senti to have effective damage they need to go for a glass cannon build which requires 9-10k power. It requires a lot of sacrifice in hp & defense, gear wise to be a formidable opponent.

This is usually the Senti vs Destro feats:

    - Destro HP, 50-60k, Senti 40-45k
    - Destro x4 Purified piece, Senti has 2xCorrupted & 2xPurified piece
    - Destro power at 5.5-6k, Senti power at 9-10k and senti gives more damage in encounters (CAGI & DS) however,
    - Destro has 5s cd (shortened) on take down, bf or optionally fls for more cc, and a much stronger sure strike
    - Destro has faster determination build

    - Destro gains defense through faster determination build, 4xpurified set, defense ring, necklace & higher hp
    - Senti gains defense through 4th & 5th column feats (1st & 2nd column are common in both destro & senti) and DS

    On a single target:

    - IBS vs CAGI with 5/5 in Exec IBS wins
    - Takedown (5s cool down) vs DS 5/5 in relentless , Takedown is equally good
    - BF (with cd) or FLS vs RS , RS is slightly ahead, IBS launch is unrealistic for sentinel without some CC and cagi is not enough.
    - plus faster determination build and stronger sure strike for destro by a mile.

For this reason I don't think Destro is too much behind. The CAGI & DS has AOE, that holds an advantage over TR, but weaker against HR & CW. While facing mobs CAGI & DS have aoe which holds another advantage. On a single target destro is ahead with the new 35% feat, specially with 2 x 5s CC ith take down. The way to play Destro is hit & run and kill "single" target, specially SW,CW. HR too ideally but right now HR is OP. Sentinel plays a semi-face tank which gives aoe damage and relies on rest of the team to get the job done. Sent will be much weaker in mod5.

Comparing Senti vs Destro is comparing apples & oranges both have different play style. It ends up being a preference, a side bonus of destro is it's excellent for pve. A comparison for Destro vs Senti is not the problem. The problem is, Destro will die from CC even before starting to sprint, it cannot face-tank and single one vs one, Destro is behind HR,TR & GF and also probably vs CW if CW captures enough range. Another thing is td feels like a 1.5s and high animation and time on ibs, ibs can be dodged. Not being able to land a proper ibs is a problem and destro are heavily dependent on this particular nuke! In short, instead of pointing Destro vs Senti, let's point towards Destro GWF vs other classes. For a build that focus on single targets it's ineffective except vs playing pugs.

Overall the entire GWF requires boost both in Senti & (specially) Destro tree. Personally I love playing Destro over Sentinel. Speaking of which, they still have no GWF advocate, how absurd on a class that needs so much attention!

Wrong. Nezraal pretty much covered it. I just feel like a summary should be present:

    - Senti and Destroyer can have the same HP. It relies 100% on the gear you wear.
    - Senti only has 2.5% DR from tier 4 feat and higher DR on unstoppable. Then again, destroyer gets unstoppable much more often due to determination gain while attacking and shorter cooldown on Roar.
    - Senti has great initial burst but almost non existent sustained damage, whereas Destroyer has low initial burst but great sustained damage. Currently, on an average dungeon run, sentinel with the same dps gears can slightly outdamage a Destroyer if he has somewhere around 15k power. The lower the power gets, the better destroyer gets. But then again, intimidation will soon receive a 30% damage nerf and even that slight advantage with extremely high power will evaporate.

    ........

    -.-' no!
    *leashes intimidation and battle fury*
waits to leash CAGI on advocate.

p.s. i hope they never choose me. i would lose reasons to troll the devs enough on forums for their idiot builds and in-game mechanics.

All the advocates have been indeed chosen, including the gwf one. What you all fail to realize is that all these advocates do is compile the feedback from here the barracks and the preview feedback thread. Feedback is being sent every week about what's going on with the class. Not happy about something? Make a separate thread, post your feedback without all the passive agressive tones and it'll be sent to the developers, simple as that. Keep in mind that just because the advocate sends feedback to the developers it does NOT guarantee they'll change things around.

I worried about where the GWF will be when the sentinel / intimidation nerfs go live. At the moment it feels like the only thing keeping my GWF going in pvp is being a glass sentinel that can dish out a massive nuke every 15 or so seconds. I tried destroyer and it really doesn't work out in pvp, no prones make the ponderous IBS animation really REALLY hard to land against all the dodgers, and you die so quickly now in pvp.

For now I would play sentinel for pvp though. FLS > CaGI > DS over the middle node on a whole team is devastating. You duck in do that and duck out, your team can clean the rest up.

One simple thing for the gwf advocate to explain to the devs: you don't make a full-time runner wth a class that wears a mail armour. Wearers of tssue and leather may be runners, not the gwf class.
Devs, it is possble that you have zero knowledge of medieval things, so take a third party advice, ask Gary Gigax or any DnD authority.

    This is completely spot on!

As the GF Class Advocate I am aware of who the GWF Class Advocate is and I can confirm that one has been chosen.

Rest assured they are doing their job as requested by Akromatik and Gentleman Crush, otherwise they would have been removed.

I recommend you all keep posting constructive feedback to give the GWF Advocate something positive to put into their reports and doing so should assist in making the GWF class better for all.

Edit: and before anyone tries asking, I won't divulge who the Advocate is. Who it is doesn't really matter as long as they do their job and it's certainly well within their rights to remain anonymous. :)

I have in numerous thread pointed to a number of existing problems and hints. The last 7/8 pvp topics for mod4 that got attention were also my threads. He is going to compile them ? He doesn't even run GWF as his main. He plays a lot of different classes and considers GWF as just another class he plays. Truth, isn't it?

Here, let me point out what the problems are:

    1. The development team will have a list of criteria such as "we want to keep the feats", "we want to keep the glyphs" and we "want to introduce new content". The problem is, this attitude itself. Broken features cannot be fixed, it will either be OP or not-usable. When there are broken features, how long are you going to keep "fixing" a "broken design".

How many of you advocates pointed to Glyphs being a problem?
How many to broken feats with certain builds?

    2. I will start with YOUR class vs a GWF with same GS. Who wins and by how much margin on GS at 20k? Both are suppose to be melee class at close range. What's your data feed on this?

How many of you advocates got results on a 1v1 basis for similar classes?

    3. Lastly an enthusiastic "advocate" such as you comes forward and discusses about changes. What about our advocate? Last 7/8 pvp topics was created by me. Forget about compiling them, he doesn't even interact or discusses feedback.

How many of you advocates play premade frequently with 20k teams?

    4. What's our advocate page rank in PvP?

He is non-existent right? So he is a pug.

    Conclusion

You need an "absolute" GWF as his main, to understand a GWF running premade frequently. If you are shy of doing it and don't know how to break / test limits you can never give a proper feedback. This is the perfect reason why our class is so broken - either op, or not-usable. The developers don't understand it at all, and having a puppet confirming their theory still makes it a broken class. Sorry, but our advocate is incompetent.

That's why we, as GWF are making fun of our advocate and will continue to do so. Some guy wants to be Cryptic's puppet confirming "good balance", we will keep it that way. An advocate, whose fellow class players are making fun of ... incredible. Tell him to stay invisible and stick to his DC.

    ... lolwut?

The only one who is being unconstructive here is, not too surprisingly, YOU. I've been reading your posts for a while and you are an incredibly self-absorbed, irritating, obnoxious individual. I'd suggest taking a break from the game, as it'd appear you are taking what supposed to be entertainment and fun way too seriously.

About the advocate. It's utterly irrelevant what the advocate plays or not. You know why? Because their job is to READ and compile feedback from the FORUMS. Can you comprehend the meaning of this through your unending raging? Yes, it means it doesn't matter who the advocate it. Shocking, I know.
