So they fix something to work the way it should be and you all cry nerf. Not once have I used TT on my warlocks. On guild runs I do a ton of damage and hold my own on my damnation spec'd warlock.

Oh shush. No one is complaining as such. We are simply stating facts - and the fact is without TT as it currently is, SW will be a LOT less wanted by HIGH end groups. Fact is if u want a high end group join a guild or make high end friends, end of story. This Daily hits for 200k-400k with good buffs, its stupendous, ridiculus and degrades game experience plus it makes SW people "one button" dummies. Every class has depth, dive into it.

I know the definition of "control". At the moment it's just "dominate"
You didn't even see what I said previously. Did your jealousy blind you that badly? How else am I supposed to prove that I know something about the class I chose to play huh
If I wanted to brag out I'd just list all my characters in my signature but I find that useless and not worthy.
having a high GS doesn't mean you know something about the class.
Please stop assuming every CW must die because it's a terrible person.
QUOTE]
Not every CW is a terrible person, it's just the class too cheesy for people to roll it for PvE and now not a bad choice for PvP too. That's why it's often hated. And one class being the only best option to play infuriates too you know. A lot.
having a high GS doesn't mean you know something about the class.
Yes I know we have GS inflation right now but then tell me how else am I supposed to prove that? Post some guides/videos to share it with people like you did? Or run dungeons with people ingame each time I argue with them on forums to prove something? No thanks, neither I have the time nor I really want to share. Plus there may be a possibility a that I am wrong at something as I seen in some other player's guides already, I don't want take a responsibility for those mistakes that would cause people to respec countless times.
I didn't pay for what I have now (though I did buy some zen in the start when I was playing my rogue), all of these I earned mostly by merchanting/grinding on my DC.
In my opinion, warlocks need a major PVE nerf. I currently main an 18k Thaum CW with a greater vorp and 9.5k Power. There is no reason that a 14k warlock should be able to keep up with me in DPS during a dungeon run. So.... warlock OP? Yes. Need nerf? Very!
Not a fan of DPS now..used to be DPS try hard but got bored after sometime of supremacy..dun realy mind getting outdpsed..i m more focus on able to survive and helping team mate to survive..as a HR, i gave my splitshot up and went single target sniping..this way i attract less aggro and is able to focus on sniping down any target posing threat toward my party member..
So if warlock TT could help my party to survive the onslaught by pve mob..i mean why not?I remember during the ambush phase in eSoT, my party got no CW an it pop the black gwf like mob and i was like we r doom but the SW shreded them to pieces in sec and i m like NICE..after they actualy could kite them around while i snipe most of them down 1 by 1..
So whats the deal with "oh, pls nerf SW coz their DPS is sooo OP"..i mean they help in PVE fight right?
I mean Party survival > personal DPS ? huh? no?...
I was not referring to TT when I posted this. I'm not even high enough level to use TT yet.
lol that was the first thing i figured out reading your post but still got my guilty pleasure from that gs/dps measuring
stick to warlock if you like his mechanics and playstyle. you need to know that after so called nerfing/fixing TT descent warlock still doing huge dps. my suggestion - just don't go into high int/recharge build to rely only on 1 daily and 1 encounter. if your lock is well balanced you'll enjoy the show.
from day 1 of hitting 60 on my lock i didn't like to use TT.. geez, i even skipped that daily while leveling lol and still, for example, i use TT in epic LoL just once - in the 2nd part of the 1st boss. and know what? i top paingiver charts easily. i'm not that insane min-maxer with legendary weapons/belts/artifacts - just know a little bit what to do.
and my thoughts are that lock won't get any further 'nerf' anytime soon. Module5 is around the corner - the devs have others things to do..
No stealing just amplifying and taking credit for it on the Paingiver chart.
hmmm ... I asked because the unique and daunting time I did a dungeon in this module using a dps, I saw that my general damages lower than my "solo damage", BUT my first burst, before the 2 sw friends into action, had been my record during the game.
Well, gotta say, this one was blindingly obvious to all but the most pigheaded or deluded (or shouty and not awfully sharp). It was always going to be fixed as it was wrecking balance, and most people saw that coming miles away. Yes, I called it ages ago, in my Fury guide, but that doesn't make me unusually prescient
For your dailies, well.. say hello to Tyrannical Threat.
Tyrannical Threat is the elephant in the Paingiver room. It is very broken, and doesn’t work the way that the tool-tip suggests.
(..snip..)
It’s possible that Tyrannical Threat will be fixed at some point. When fixed, it will still be powerful- but not the ludicrous weapon of mass destruction that it currently seems to be. It’s worth trying to be reasonably effective when it’s not up.
Yes, so it was due a couple of updates, anyway.. so we'll see.
So, various AP gain addicts loudly declaring their "fame" and camping TT will be in for a bit of a sad time. The rest of us, who have been experimenting with solid DPS without being completely at the mercy of this bug will probably be just fine. "Don't Panic", and make sure you know where your towel is, folks.
That said, groups will miss it, on the twin scorpions or the end of Valindra, but they'll get over it too.

OH really? As i have said before in my post in this thread the reason we are bring this up, NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT IT FFS, is because what do fury sw do apart from dmg? And assuming a cw will be able to beat a fury which I am sure they will, as well as controlling a ton of mobs why on earth why high end groups EVER take a fury sw? I am talking higher end pugs here not guild runs. Yes I am quite sure your guildmates will take pity on you and carry you though xD And fyi, I've never abused the AP gain bugs.
Onto point 2 which is the fact that some high end cws I run with will crush your pitiful damage into the dust (yes even currently on live). Yes I am sure you are uber in your head, but sadly facts are facts and not everyone (read : most people) runs guild groups.

I can't disagree with that, as that's what a lot of long-term MMO nerds (me included) enjoy and want. However, the main proposition here seems to be a casual friendly high-churn model.

This is an action MMO, and thus we are able to dodge most attacks with the right timing of teleports dodges etc, while keeping ourselves alive with potions, lifesteal and regen. Ive been playing mmos since the day planes of power came for the original Everquest my brothers had been telling me about this AWESOME game they had been playing and how I really needed to try it out and bc there was a xpac coming out it was the perfect time to start playing :P
And, Here I am, 12 years later, still playing mmos. And bc of my experiences in Everquest, Everquest 2, WoW, Rift, Vanguard : SoH, warhammer Online, LOTRO, The Secret World, Anarchy Online, City of Villains, and Star Trek Online I absolutely love the fact that we don't need a healer and tank to go. Fact us with that group working together make the game so easy a chimp could play it and do well xD

I am reasonably sure if damage was credited to the player who actually dealt the damage to the target with TT on them, that there omany less complaints about it, usually from CW who moronically claimed we were "stealing" their dps. To which I would say, not only does inot work that way (it simply took 50% of the damage you did to the target with TT on it and
dmg link the 3 with TT so they all took 50% of dmg done to other targets with the curse AS well as doing 30%% of damage done to the targets w TT as ae dmg to all targets near the TT cursed mobs) does it really matter as long as we get the job done - last time I checked we were in a group not all solo heroes competeting for epeen xD

Oh this post is classic. I love how he calls SW kindergarten mode, then says CW is not that easy. ROFLMAO. Wow, talk about double standards and trying to downplay and pretend the overpowered thing sin't overpowered. Good job saying CW isn't kindergarten mode *claps*
Not the whole SW just the easy mode with TT.
CW may be easy casually but not if you want real results.
Btw. SW is still doing tremendous damage as excepted!
In Lol it was 9-5 to SW - CW so iif you have problems I suggest rethink your playstyle!

ran a few dungeons since TT change.
Old school add centric dungeons like CN, doing about 80% of equivalent CW dmg. I was also playing around with other dailies like Gates, etc, to find the right daily for weak adds like CN. In dungeons like this I'm almost tempted to just let Flames of Empowerment do its thing while waiting for the opportune time for TT.
in newer dungeons with fewer, stronger (more hp) adds, was doing ~20% more dmg than equivalent CW. Here SW shines, because mobs last longer than a single instant dmg cw encounter.

I am not arguing about the limited action set, or the ability to dodge (I enjoy both a lot actually). But there is nothing limiting the developers to put in content that is more challenging and needing specific roles. Can't find the trinity, or whatever class, do the current content. Can find it, play the harder stuff that needs more strategy and specialized expertise. I am beginning to see some of this, for example, Master of the Hunt is just a dps fest... doesn't matter what you have... while Shores of Tuern is much easier with a tank that can keep that cone attack pointed toward the wall (I especially like the guardian fighter for that role). This brings a satisfaction to those people who have taken those classes and brings a sense of teamwork to the members of the party...
You want people to enjoy the game for the long term... instill a sense of purpose to the class and the role they play in a party. Things like 4 CW's and a cleric or GWF AOE ROFL stomping a whole dungeon is just.... boring.

Other classes can easily tank the Shores boss if they know how to protect the group. It takes skills not armor. I tank frequently since I am the top dps'er on it so even with a tank, they can't hold aggro to me.

I rarely used Tyrannical Threat anyway as it just causes every single mob to beeline toward you no matter what (As a tempt, not sure on fury). So I would only ever use it where I felt like I could survive using it Not too bothered over the fix, will just use Accursed/Phleg.

While its been nerfed its still pretty good. I got a 861k hit with TT today in eLoL, as this link with an ACT screenshot can prove. Note this is just 1 hit with that particular TT use. Agro can be a prob as I am temptation, but being 20k, its pretty much always a problem TT or not, so it doesnt really matter. You just need to build you warlock to be a bit tankier. For eg, I have 39k hp and 36%DR.
I guess at the very least now no one can complain about us "stealing" their damage.

In Lol it was 9-5 to SW - CW so iif you have problems I suggest rethink your playstyle!
So what your saying is CW isnt OP? LOL yeah right - keep tellling yourself its your mad skills
CW is NOT Hard to play. If you think it is.... well I dont know what to say apart from perhaps a game more like pong would suit you more - all you have to worry about there is not letting the ball get past your flipper thing.

lol no thanks. I am DPS, not a walking buff bot
WTB Class Reroll please
