Two words as to why some content is deliberately made lengthy: Content locusts.

In all honesty, the devs would like to make some content that will keep the players busy while they work on the next module for more than a week or two. It takes them weeks and months to make content--they really don't want it finished in two weeks or less. Sometimes this is the end result.

its not the problem with it taking time to finish, the problem is how much time you waste running from one quest to another, waiting for dragons to spawn since game likes to put ppl in maps where its 15+min til spawn and time you waste waiting for slaves to spawn, move, you need to wait on lightning jars, and ghosts in neverdeath, or collect 10 scrolls where theres only 8 vases, you have to get rest from mobs and if theres dragon spawning soon they mostly cleared

Dang I can't believe how long these dailies are ! And I thought IceWind Dale was long. ToD is even longer, how's that even possible lol.

Most tedious module by far. But the positive side of it are the new enemy types.

So are all the modules going to be like this? Daily daily daily, lair, boon, more boons. etc etc? Doesn't make people look forward for upcoming modules.... Next module needs something unique.

The modules follow the pen and paper story line and apparently the desired schedule of release of content. I havn't read what comes after this other than Tiamat has returned to the Realms which I believe the pen and paper game ends with us fighting Tiamat so that will be pretty cool if that is the case in this.

There is a storyline in these dailies that I think due to bugginess for getting quests is rather neat if you pay attention to it. The cultists are allying with dragons to raid towns for their riches, the plunder is to appease tiamat for her return once they free her. So this part is us fighting the dragons and cultists in an effort to stop them from stealing enough wealth to entice tiamat. Obvioiusly that fails since the next mod and part of the story is her being freed, which reminds me of a Q series of dnd modules that ended with people going to Lloths realm and fighting her in her home plane which was a pretty freaking cool module in the pen and paper game.

Would really be cool to start getting some planar activity going once in awhile or in the form of events even.

So back to you statements yes boons and dailies is pretty much the order of the day and I don't see that changing. I do like the dailies in this mod better than the ones in the previous ones. I can do them on all toons pretty easy, but I think the people that complain are either not well geared, not seasoned players or hanging trying to grind out dragons for other top end loot.

I personally find that just doing each dragon for the daily can give you rewards if you are lucky i guess. I just popped in to do a daily no expectation adn got my gloves for my DC.

I agree with some people who take issue with how long it takes as you do tend to spend a fair amount of time waiting on timers to count down as instances are getting pretty full these days.

I sometimes wish they would just put the dragons in an area that requires you to activate like the waiting area before the final boss of a dungeon ... you can only activate it if you have two groups of 5 people on each activation point, once you do you zone in and fight that way everyone can have a shot at great success.

AS it stands now my opinion is the dragon should have their health multiplied by 5 or 10 and make it so that you CANNOT solo it at all.

For some reason whispering caverns has the fewest instances and the most people fighting the dragon and its near impossible to get one with a great success and its getting to the point you can't even find one to fight let alone one that doesn't' have whatever population cap there is at the dragon.

Overall I like the module my biggest peave is you have daily quests for sigils that you only get 1/day of a set number of sigils per day. So why on earth is there even a 20 hour timer on top of the daily quest giver cool down?

Apparently the only reason is to see how many people have ZERO life at all that can sit around on a 20 scehdule to gain earliest possible access.

I have been doing the dailies on 3 toons, my main has been doing them since it started and he still isn't up to unlocking it and I have NOT missed a day however I can't keep up with 20 hour timers so if I finish the quests and start unlock at 9pm one night it might not be until 8 - 10 or later the enxt that I can get to it again where as others seem to be able to finish at say 9 pm and then finish the next day 5pm and the next at 1pm and so and and so forth until they are ahead of the game so to speak.

I am probably a couple more days from skirmish unlock and I think about a week after that for dungeon unlock.

Unlike IWD at least you can switch instances ... just that they are all full that are not ending in less than 5 minutes and you still have to wait what 2 minutes to change? Often you are better off just waiting for the timer if you don't get into an instance that is shorter.

All they need to do is make dungeons rewarding like they used to be. I would've been kept busy for ages if they did that instead of what we've had since mod 1. Instead I've had to put up with boring dailies that are the same with little reward only to unlock a dungeon with no replayability and no armour set that is actually worth wearing. Basically the only reason I've done it because it's the only content we had and to unlock the boons so that I'm not behind. Just stop with the BoP already D:

You could make it much more comfortable for everyone without actually shorten the campaign. Everybody wins.

I am bored of this already, I hardly ever do the dragon quests anymore since it's so much running around. And now we have to grind for weeks and weeks to get the artifact belts....but it's ok in the meantime that people can just pay to open many boxes and get one when us normal players who don't spend hundreds every week, have to farm for an insane amount of time.

I find this game suitable for me.

I do dailies, I do pvp, I sometimes do dungeons, skirmish's and foundry's

I have role played, and I have spent a lot of time talking with guild member on anything and everything.

I do some AH stuff, I farm sometimes, sometimes I go back and finish zones that I never finished before I leveled out of them.

I solo low level dungeons, either alone, or helping others ,

I find a lot of good things to do in neverwinter online. When it becomes work I take a break, or I can walk away.

What I try not to do is get so involved with it that I feel I have to do this or that. Close as I come is invoking, which only takes a few minutes If it is a busy day.

I actually got lucky and had a coal ward drop from invoking coffer. Now that was a red letter day indeed.

For some reason, and it isn't unique to these forums, every game related forum seems to attract a ton of QQ, often not needed.

Are there bugs and other things that annoy me? Yep.

The best part of the whole thing is the number of people I have got to meet. People from all over the world, with different perspectives.

If you skip the zone chat trolling and ignore the gold spammers and work on building relationships with people who want to play things and when you fit in join in with them , then the MMO starts to work for you.

If you just want to go go go , OK i finished it all, what's next, then perhaps there are other things you could do with your time.

    I have made and deleted 7 CW's.

I think this time I understand what I want mine to do and have reached 45 on CW #8 and think it is going to be a keeper.

I have overlooked weaknesses to cw, and enjoyed strengths, all without complaining about nerf this, or buff that. It changes, but it always offers opportunities to expand my imagination. Other MMO's have done similar.

So have fun, or find something fun. Don't be miserable. As far as I know only the gold spammers working in china possibly under the gun have to play .

When the shiny wears off, look for something else shiny.

if people trash talking you bothers you turn off / ignore

If not having the best gear bothers you , find a way or give up and quit.

But do not be unhappy or miserable over a pass time that should be fun.

Just my 2 cents, your mileage may vary.

That's freedom for ya' ain't it?

Because ultimately you're paying with one resource or another. It's money or it's time invested.

Yeah I understand but the drop rates are just so bad and having my luck makes it all the worse :P I just always hate luck drop rates.

Same second job feeling. Having room to cram more mobs inside doesn't mean you devs have to do that. I see a lot of old levelling maps were used. That's fine but it doesn't mean we want to experience again the levelling experience. The dailies aren't something I do for fun. I do because that's the mandatory gate to have access to fun content I enjoy (dungeon, and they can be 45 mins long, I like that).

40 mins to do the new dailies on my 15k GS cleric with over 7k power and a p/vorpal, that's insane. I suggest you guys find something else to keep us interested on the long run. Like, dungeons. Real, challenging ones, with good loot, and the good old 45 mins format I miss. :)

That doesn't mean there shouldn't be some carefully thought balance between both ways to acquire items. If the drop rates are too low well it only means that they're in the loot tables for the show. PWE is trying to make us accept step by step this (awful) korean model. TBH that's why I took a 6 months break from this game and played subscription games. I can't stress enough how relaxing not feeling forced to farm and turn yourself into a zombie having a second job to see some character progression was good. :) I don't mind if/how PWE makes money but at some point the "but look you can get it in game for free if you give up about your real life and turn yourself into a zombie basement dweller", a la valindra's tower artifact, is getting old and only seems to be a marketing element only fools believe.

I am not a fan of these dailies and time-gates.

There is very little new content in this module. Most of what people are doing are chores/dailies. The dragon fights are boring, requires no braincells and has terrible rewards based on performance.

I hope module 5 will be a change.

I wish the dragon fights were CTA-style instances, instead of these overloaded free-for-all's.

Probably there are guys spending a whole lot more time playing than I do, but for me it's impossible to get all my toons through through the campaign and gear up. Most of my 60s have Mod2 covered including the Eye, armor and weapons sets. But then IWD hit with the new fabulous HE drop rates and that broke progression for me. At least ToD offers BoE so you can buy the stuff off the AH, but I agree it's way too tedious.

They definitely have to come up with something new the next module. Somebody suggested a campaign like the PVP one where you complete tasks while running dungeons, killing stuff etc.

I totally agree. I can't play every day, let alone hours and hours on end. I've shelved all my toons but one and am still way behind. Let's hope the next module is about fun and optional rewards so we have a chance to catch up.

In fact, no more daily's at all please. We have had plenty of those to do. How about something dynamic and interesting, so I don't have to spend each day doing something already prescribed for me.

4 modules and over a year have produced nothing but dailies, a dead open world pvp and some dead dungeons.

Here's to hoping module 5 will introduce something new (10-man queuable raids, new PVP modes and maps etc) as I do not want this game to die.

Frankly, I wish they'd just use a system like seals or Grym coins - give us a reliable and predictable path toward earning whatever pieces we want...
