OK, so I just finished 11 runs of the new skirmish (the epic version with the 13000 GS requirement)
I bought some keys, so I opened a total of 22 chests ... yes, it is a small sample size, but it gives some info.
In those 22 chests, I got 2 Draconic helms, 2 Draconic off-hands, one Dragon Gem and one Greater Blue Dragon glyph. Now, the interesting part is that most (4/6) of those drops were from the regular (free) chest - not the special one where you can buy keys, or craft one key per day. Both chests always gave a rank 5 draconic enchant (so I have 22 of those now) , a greater ID scroll and some gold.
Some good news: The skirmish is fast, fun, and not too hard...we had a few deaths, but no wipes in 11 runs, and we had never played together as a group before....basically just a random pug.
The bad news: Uh, nothing I can think of - its just a nicely done skirmish of proper difficulty. Good job.

To add to your sample size, I did 15 runs, opened the special chest everytime with keys bought with zen and got nothing but rank 5s with the exception of 1 draconic talisman which is bound (?). No gem, no glyph, and no belt.
Besides that the skirm itself is good, not too hard with a team that knows the basics. Did all 15 runs with the same pug group, went really fast, probably did 6 or more an hour.

When will you have the Artifact weapon? considering that already have the mats, maybe not enough dragon sigils yet? I hope these items are not random fo us.

Well, I got 6 bones as drops from HEs, one gem (from the skirmish, as I mentioned above) and two Dragon Forged Steel (one HE drop and one quest reward from the Portal to Tuern quest). I do need one sigil, though. So, I could start the artifact weapon task tomorrow, but I'll probably wait a few days...want to unlock the dungeon first.
I have a question. Can Draconic shoes and gloves drop from skimrish/dungeon or can be acquire only from HE? I ask because right now it's hard to get one from HE
Already unlocked ? I have just ended the 3th task of Whispering Caverns lol

I hope that whatever the drop rates are, that they do not adjust them like they did in Icewind Dale, where the the early people get all the goodies and those that come later get nothing.

Nope , the gloves and boots can only be acquired from the HE's in Rothe valley and Whispering caverns , they are BoE though so you can buy them from the AH if you aren't lucky with the drops.

Boots for dc and hr are quite expensive so I don't think I can buy them. Well thank you for replay.
yeeey another dungeon/skirmrish that got cleared by a random buch on people the first day it was availible. Another farm fest incoming where you dont really have to try hard, just grind hard to get what you want.

if you are planning to get artifact weapon fast, sadly you have to buy those keys
That would depend on whether the gem has a chance of dropping from the free chest or just the special one. Unfortunately I don't remember which drops I got from which chest - all I can say is that I got 4 purple drops from the free one and 2 from the special one.
If the gem drops from the free chest then that's all you need. Having said that, there *might* be a chance that the artifact and the accessories only drop from the special chest-I don't really know - all I wanted was the helmet and off-hand (for my draconic set) and a gem (for the artifact weapon).
As you get one free chest per skirmish run, and the chance of purple drops seems decent, I am at least not going to spend more Zen on keys for the skirmish.
The dungeon, however-now that's a different story. Basically, as with any other dungeon, I assume (It's still 3 days until I unlock the dungeon) you would have to do that during the DD hour, or use your daily dungeon keyfor the free chest. I hope the free chest has a decent drop rate for the draconic armor and main hand, but for farming the dungeon, it might be worthwhile to buy keys for the special chest there. Again, this depends on whether the drop chances for the special chest and the regular dungeon chest are the same or not.
Hoping for improvements...

To be fair - we were maybe not quite random - all 5 of us had bothered to unlock the skirmish a day or two earlier than the bulk of the population, by using the fact that the "assist" tasks are 20-hour tasks, so we just had to "move forward" 4 hours per day - getting up at 4AM to start a task in a game probably means you are a little bit nuts anyhow. Also, I think our average GS was quite a bit over the 13K minimum.
Also, we had a nice group combination: one DC (me,Tanya), one GF and 3 DPSers. Sure, we had never played together before, but everyone knew how to play their class - and that does make quite a bit of a difference.
Having said that, the skirmish is pretty straight-forward - regular mobs and a hard-hitting boss. No special tactics needed - just hit everything that moves until it stops moving.

still it was cleared on the first day of release. You had NO vipes.
In an mmo im at least expecting a month, or AT LEAST a week of wiping before people get it right. But then again, in other mmos stuff drop from hard bosses, in this game stuff never drops from easy bosses. So all in all they went for the endless grind instead of something you try hard at and accomplish eventually.

True, but a few deaths - nothing Soulforged or a quick revive by other group members couldn't handle. The boss does hit quite hard, so beware.
However....
This is only a skirmish - not a full-blown dungeon. The new dungeon (even though it is fairly short) is presumably quite a bit harder.
Moreover, from what I have heard from people who played it on preview, it does actually require tactics and coordination - it does not just consist of an endless stream of mindless adds. So, if you are looking for a proper challenge, the dungeon is probably where you should look - not the skirmish.

First of all this is the Skirmish ,it is supposed to be fairly easy , secondly this isn't WoW , dungeons in this game aren't supposed to be ultra difficult , if that is what you are after than maybe look elsewhere because if they haven't done it in the first 4 modules then neverwinter is likely never going to offer that kind of content.

Is it possible to post the Dragon Gem in the AH or is it BoP?
Mine did not indicate it was bound. I would not be surprised if people started farming the skirmish for the gems. I don't know what the drop rate it, but we opened maybe around 100 chests altogether and I think I was the only one who got a gem drop, so....
(yeah, I know....small sample size)

Thank you for the answers. Why don't you try to post it in the AH? then just remove it very quickly.
People complain when things are too hard while others complain that things are too easy. Perhaps we need the same thing Diablo III has - a mode where if you die, you lose everything (can't remember the name - Hardcore?). Would that make it better for you folks that think things are too easy?
Not a flame just an honest question. The devs work for a company that has to make money to let us keep playing. In order to do that, they need to make the game goals achievable by the largest majority. If this were your job, how would you manage the game?

I couldn't have said it better myself , people whine the game is too easy but then continue to play it , seems pretty strange that the message still hasn't got through to them that this a mmo aimed mainly at casual players and that is almost certainly the way it will stay because the vast majority of the games players are just that , casual players , not hardcore raiders who are happy to spend 15 hours a day getting to the first boss in a raid , if people want that then why criticize a game that has never even hinted at the idea of large raids , if this game is so boring and mainstream leave and play something that better caters to your needs.

What I can say is that nobody in the group got a belt drop, and most of them opened both chests most of the time.

Well Im not leveling the weapon until x2 RP weekend, so I have some time to farm it. :P
