It's been over a month since the last one. I'm just curious to understand why they called it 'weekly' sales, but we've been seeing less and less of them. Did the developers stop doing them entirely or will they ever come back?
Maybe the coupons are a substitute for the sales?
Because, in a way, they are.
The coupons are extremely rare and very time-limited. Maybe if they didn't expire and were unbound, then there'd be more interest in them, since they could be traded or auctioned. As it stands now, the only reliable means to getting coupons is by leveling a character, and even then, it seems to be fairly formulaic as to which ones you get, (profession pack one around level 10, character slots one around 59-60, etc).

why to put things on sale??
how are they gonna make more money?
More people will buy something when it's on sale.
Lets say The Snarfleblah costs $50.00. If 1 out of 10 people buy it for full price, you made $50.00. If it goes on sale for %20 off ($40.00) and 2 out of 10 people buy it, you made $80.00. If 0 out of 10 people buy it at full price, you made $0.00.
I would love to see the weekly sales, normally they are much better savings than coupons. If coupon's weren't limited time, wouldn't be so bad, but I know they do that to make you impulse buy.
No need for a sale, Zax is still backlogged, cash is flowing in.
No, that means there's less cash being spent on Zen than there is demand for it. That doesn't mean that lots of people are buying Zen, it means loads of people are trying to swap AD (which Cryptic produce from thin air and player misery) for Zen.
Err, having a backlog means that there is too much AD chasing too little ZEN.
This would (in general) imply that cash is not flowing in, at least not cash that is being spent on ZEN that is traded for AD.
EDIT:

Hence why I suggested the Weekly Wonderous Bazaar Sale to go with the Weekly Zen sales. Get people to spend AD with that, or convert Zen to AD to help "fix" the exchange.

See you are confused by "Weekly Sales" they didn't mean their would be a sale every week they meant that when ever they have a sale say every 3 months or so they last for a week must have been an error in translation or something
Those coupons are a joke. I ALWAYS toss them away. Mainly because I have an hour to make up my mind, but also because they are a so random, the Eye of Lathander drops more frequently. I don't need 15% off on my next potion purchase tyvm.
If that's what they are counting on for sales its a joke.
I thought they posted sometime back that sales would be weekly and we could look forward to that? Now we are lucky to get one a month. Anyway, this topic has come up many times before and nothing has changed so don't expect this to post to change anything.

Actually I think you've got a point. I too think the cash is flowing in...the baglog doesn't mean that people aren't buying any Zen, it just means that people don't want to use them on ZAX because AD is easy to come by without spending Zen. I've spent a LOT of money on this game, and I've never ever used the ZAX.
People are getting tired of waiting for ZAX to get their Zen, so they spend their RL money instead.

It's pretty clear that the people in charge of the game, and the people in charge of the website work in separate offices, and rarely if ever communicate with each other.
Just because the site says something doesn't mean you'll ever see that occur in game. Just play the game, and don't ever expect *anything*.

"Weekly Sale: Items Up to 30% Off, By Pinpointerror Thu 21 Aug 2014 10:00:00 AM PDT
Hey adventurers! Every week, we'll be introducing a weekly sale promotion with huge discounts on your most desired items in the
Zen Market. Check back every week to see which new items are on sale. They could be your favorite mounts, companions, dyes, or other special items!
Remember, you can simply press “Y” in-game to bring up the Zen Market and see all of the items for sale.
What what we thinking? That they would actually mean every week means every week? Or is it every week from now on?

From what I have seen, there are new sales items on the Zen market every week, provided there is not a special event going on, such as a module release or seasonal event. There have been a lot of events going on lately, so no weekly Zen sales.
For several weeks about 2 months ago, there were no special events and the Zen sale changed each week with new items on sale.
In other words, wait for special events to die down and you will see more Zen market sales.

Why do you keep saying that? Its already been stated that they used to have sales and events at the same time and they've not stated any changes since. Having an event going has nothing to do with it.

Tadaaa.
Moreover you can extend that definition, lets call this random pack totallynotdragonborn pack. At $100 you may get 1 person to buy it so decide this is too much and never to sell it for this price, at $75 you may get 2 people to buy it right away, at $75 and you pretend and advertise it as a limited time sale when it's not discounted at all then you'll get 5 people out of 10 to get it (number obviously not accurate). Then you can make more money from false advertising these totallynotdragonborn packs, yey \o/

This thread's done... Seriously folks, if you're going to spout legal insults and accusations, do so the proper way: To Support and/or your Legal Adviser. Further comments of such a nature will result in official infractions. The forum is not the place for such.

I'd rather have the weekly sales tbh. Little communication from Cryptic though, what's new.

It's funny coz they didn't even update their last sale thread:
http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/neverwinter/news/detail/1004090-weekly-sale%3A-items-up-to-33%25-off
Very misleading... That sale was after the coupon introduction.
