My maps are back up, I did a run and noticed a few things.

    1. all the original cult of the dragon skins have been updated from the bright purple tunics to a duller shade jacket/tunic (looks better).

    2. My interior fog details do not seem to be working right now. Ran my featured quest too and i notice there are some interior fog boxes there not working (red/black atleast). I need to get into foundry to find out more. But my cavern map (for my contest) is far too bright :(.

    3. Possible some patrols may not work as quickly or as intended. one of mine didnt move (seems to be some pathing issues in general i think) and one "cutscene" i added doesn't seem to work so well because there is a halted delay before walking when there is more than 1 patrol point.

edit: there is one good thing though. Loot windows show the item now. (got some negative review on one of my maps because of that bug)

I'd have thought Cryptic would weigh in on this SERIOUS PROBLEM by now.

    LOL. First Foundry Module update?
Foundry is typically "down" between several days and several weeks after a module update.

So far this has been a relatively quiet, successful module update -- usually dozens of authors are complaining about broken quests all over the place. I guess since there weren't really any foundry updates other than a few sad, embarrassing encounters it'll probably be fairly smooth.

So basically, the foundry is likely to be down until after the 19th, and many of our quests may not even be back online at the deadline. If the fact that none of the quests are up means that Cryptic gets a bunch of broken entries it's going to be a monumental failure and will ruin people's opinion of the foundry even further.

And yeah, I am also worried that my entry will end up looking like HAMSTER and ruin my chances of winning.

Remember: Those that are monitoring this contest are currently preoccupied at GenCon. They have already modified the contest once, it is likely they will do so again if the Foundry isn't up to check for bugs. Patience, allow them to diffuse the situation, it'll all work out. It would be unwise, and unfair to everyone involved to allow entries that have been borked because of an update, and not give the creators the opportunity to amend those errors before submission. I'm anxious about the effect on my entry as well, but there's nothing I can do until everything is back up.

Preview content on ... preview server? I dunno.

It WAS stated in a post that Foundries for the contest would be posted in batches for a week, those stars earned that week counted, and then the next batch done until all contest foundries had been seen.

With that in mind I can be patient until mine shows up.

The only other complaint I have seen is people trying to do the Foundry Daily for AD getting stuck with limited options for now. This too shall pass.

No, and there's no need to be condescending. It is precisely because I have gone through several such updates and seen what it did to the foundry that I am concerned. It IS a serious problem when you have an entry in the contest and CANNOT CHECK IT. I did not put the rules and deadlines in place, Cryptic did, and frankly it was monumentally poor timing. I was excited about the contest, spent weeks tweaking and fine-tuning my entry, and now I am on pins and needles, not knowing whether it was broken by this module. You wouldn't be a tad bit upset?

Sorry, totally not how I meant it -- I've got an entry as well and am just waiting for the inevitable bugs. It always boggles my mind that the Foundry is always disabled for days (if not weeks) after a module. Pretty poor deployment if you ask me. And this "republishing" of existing quests that never ends... wth? It seems like they are actually performing an auto "publish" on all the quests to the system. Totally bizarre.

Edit: ...and, yeah, since this is Akromatics "first" experience with module/foundry issues, I kind of expect he'll "nudge" the final bug-fix submission date out a wee bit AFTER the foundry ever comes up.

If players have already played and rated our Foundries, will these mechanisms be reset to allow these players to rate again in the contest. Some of you have tons of ratings on your missions, if they have been up for a couple weeks. Would this be unfair to you to lose some already good ratings? It would be nice to have a new rating statistic introduced with the contest, so all players could rate the missions again and count toward the ratings average.

Of course, missions may not be rated in the existing mechanism... It could end up being a questionaire on the Forums where a players is only allowed to vote for their favorite out of the batch... I wonder how the end result will be determined?

Has anyone else noticed that the graphics appear much crisper in the main game? I have been amazed. I wonder if our environments will appear as crisp or with more detail when the Foundries are re-released?

Akro explained changes to the judging in another thread:

Alrighty, updated the rules and everything with the judging procedures.

    http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/neverwinter/news/detail/6002703-cult-of-the-dragon-foundry-contest

Here's the excerpt with the judging procedures:
"Starting Tuesday 8/19, we will start featuring the contest entries that are eligible for winning. We ask that all entrants make sure their Foundry quests are eligible for featuring and have been submitted for featuring. Due to the high volume of entries, we will be featuring the quests in batches to ensure all entries receive enough visibility. Each batch of entries will be featured for 1 week at a time and we will only count the stars accumulated during that week. Once a given entry's week is over, we will record the accumulated stars for quests featured that week in our super-secret ledger. When we have featured all of the eligible entries, we will declare the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners based upon their accumulated stars. We realize that this will result in us having to push back the date of our winner's announcement, so we've gone ahead and added 2 more "Judges Choice" prizes. These winners will be chosen by the Neverwinter team and they will each receive a Dragonborn Legend pack!"

Well at least we get something. When you say drakes do you mean like larger than dragonling types? Such as the encounters by the Heroic Dragon events? I'd be ok with that if there's a working slider so we can at least get them somewhat larger. New Iron golems... and Polar bears and such are all welcome. I really hope that we get new objects, statues, floors, walls... seriously.... something.

I'd really like to see something like Sigil get built, or some other City besides PE... too keep the farmers out... level 60 requirement. IWD just doesn't do it for me. I'm dreaming out loud though, they've have to hire some talent for a project that big.

I'm just panicking because I didn't notice they changed the rules so you have to submit for Featured, now I can't do that because the Foundry has been down forever, and I might not even get into the contest after amonth of hard work, because I can't click the put up for featured button before the 19th... I don't care if I don't win, but I would at least like the companion I shoul dhave for an entry that I can't get if I get locked out of submission by Foundry downtime...

You should at the very least get the companion -- you're entry IS in the locked contest entry topic here.

I'm pretty confident Akromatic was thinking "Foundry available +5 days" when he wrote 8/19/2014. :p

Foundry still down; most quest aren't up yet, and the day after tomorrow is the submit deadline. After that they are scheduled to start featuring, and no word as yet from Akro as to an extension.

Well, they have been at GenCon all week, but should be back to work today, so we'll probably get some answers.

On the graphic "banner" page on the Overview tab - there is a little "Submit to Cryptic" button on the bottom right of the graphic.

When you edit your quest, there will be a button that says "Submit to Cryptic." Click that to submit it for featuring. Note that you can continue to edit your quest after clicking that button; any changes up until it actually becomes Featured will be included.

My foundry wasn't up -- turns out "to pass" is now verboten. I guess because it can be re-arranged to spell something else, or something. I think that says more about the twisted minds of the devs, because, having things come to pass, or places you happen to pass, or whatever -- well, can't do that any more.

Seemed to be some delay in patrolling encounters to start patrolling. This was more obvious when they appeared in the room with you and just sat their scratching their to passes for awhile before they did anything.

As mentioned elsewhere, profession-specific skill checks in dialogs aren't working. Nonetheless, this didn't break my entry, so I fiddled with it a little and published it again.
