random coupon from event item..?

wasn't there an event awhile back that either dropped an item or you could buy an item that, when opened, would generate one random coupon? For the life of me I can't find any reference to this, and I know I'm not seeing things.

    Yes there was... If I remember correctly, that was the Lliira event, but I could be wrong.

    You didn't buy them. They were part of the reward for turning in the daily. The unopened packs were BtA and didn't expire, so you could save them.

    Incidentally, the list of possible coupons you can get from opening it seems to correspond to all the ones that can occur as rare drops. I've yet to find one that isn't included in that list.

    I doubt anyone has done thorough testing of the 3 sources of coupons.

    I received a %50 Off Any Potion coupon from an Adventurer's Reward level-up box. It wasn't listed as a potential drop on the Lliira's Random Coupon tooltip.

    However, this list probably contains omissions and errors.

    I don't understand why those coupons are seemingly as rare as they are. They want people to buy stuff, and coupons are typically seen as incentive to do just that. No point in having the drop every second, but considering the number of different coupons, the limited time period to use them, the rarity seems a little much.

    Do you do all dailies in all campaigns on all those characters or something?

    I've only been actively running two through IWD, but even when I was juggling six, I'd maybe see one coupon per week. I did some extra stuff last weekend and got a couple of drops though.

    since I started playing I had 2-3 coupons drop for me in total. That was 2 months ago. And the reason they aren't increasing the coupon droprate is because it would mess with the economy that is already going trough turbulent changes. Sure, they would get more zen purchases, but ZAX would get completely wrecked. Also, how would you feel if every 10th monster dropped one? I'd feel like they are giving me "just the tip" 24 hours a day :D
