Did you find that in the Professions Special Pack? Because I think the Professions Special Pack will just drop profession assets.

I think you could have done it in about 13-14 hours of grinding with multiple free accounts .. not impossible.

I did not participate in the misguided event at all. Send everything I picked up to someone who wanted to try. Felt sorry for them. Events like this give a lie to the entire F2P idea.

I got *A* "Forgehammer of Gond" as an epic reward from the event but it was NOT an Artifact. No, instead it was a Profession Asset. While it could come in useful, I was not going for an asset as much as I was for the Artifact....

The Asset is Bind on Pickup (Character Bound) and Epic (40%) to every profession. I can't seem to find any other information about this... anyone?

O wow, I thought it was an actual artifact as well. Now I see why I couldnt find it in the artifact search on the AH (also bop, meh). Nice labeling job Cryptic.

No, I found it from the Creations of Wonder Pack. I opened the pack, and it showed up as an item from the Wonder Pack along with a refining item and a rank 5 gizmo. I don't think you can even get this from a Professions pack. I opened about 8 Wonder Packs, received 2 mounts, this Forgehammer (which is clearly not an artifact the tooltip states), and the rest were Profession Packs of various assortments (Alchemy, Leadership, Special, etc).

I've mostly been waiting to hear about someone who has gotten the same thing or if someone received the Artifact but nothing. Not one person I know of - or apparently on the forums - received the Artifact. So far, I am the only one I am aware of that received this item and was looking to see if anyone else did as well. I submitted a support ticket and was told "Based on the information you've provided your issue may be the result of a currently unknown game play bug. While we understand you would like us to be able to resolve your issue quickly, some issues require further development from departments outside our control and cannot be resolved by a GM." I was advised to submit a "Bug Report" which I did and don't think I'll hear anything back from though =(

Me too! I wanted the Artifact for it's Stat bonuses mostly and at Legendary it provides a Legendary Asset that gives +50%... so this, while I'm not disputing it's usefulness, isn't quite what was expected or desired (from me, especially on this char... and it's bound... >_>)

--third edit--

Here's the tooltip for the pack I got this from...

Added this as the post below this message brings up the tooltip and I don't want to be redundent in multiple posts so just edited this one.

The Creations of Wonder Pack clearly states it drops the artifact.

If it doesn't ... then ... nothing, really. This already won worst event, IMO. A mislabeling just digs it deeper into that hole.

EDIT: Just read the above post. Haha. I feel really bad for those who participated in the event.

Hey Seth, it looks to me like that's the tool that you obtain from using the Forgehammer artifact. That answers a few questions about the reward list anyway.

Yes! That's my thoughts exactly! It seems that I got the "Asset" the artifact gives when using the artifact but I did NOT get an Artifact!

Was the tooltip a typo? Is this a bug? Did ANYONE else get this?

Several people were sporadically looking on the AH for the artifacts and didn't see any at any time, which indicates that if anybody else got that drop, it might have spawned them a BoP asset instead.

Nobody reports seeing a purple Blacksmith either. I don't know if the blue ones dropped from the packs, though there were a fair number of them for sale.

And as previously pointed out several times, the Wondermaker's text explaining the event said that refining items better than grommets would drop from monsters, even though they didn't.

There seem to be several things about this event that were cocked up beyond the evidence of it being largely designed to encourage people to buy blueprints.

Hah, actually I was about to make a comment about that as I just noticed a previous response I must of missed. I did copy over a char and open a few boxes on preview and not one of them received this or the companion (opened about 20 on Preview) so don't know the odds or anything like that. Though I did get the mount I think 3 or 4 times. When the shard comes back up if I can get another Pack I'll try to make a few copies and see what comes from it again, maybe duplicate this (bug?)

Just to clarify, are you suggesting discarding the hammer in order to try to get the artifact to spawn? Is that how it works normally?

Edit: Nevermind, I see you don't know either. :)

Actually, IIRC, I can't discard it or sell it (or get rid of it by any means I know of at least), similar to the Worn Gauntlet.

oh, I see what tears is saying but again, don't think I can do that due to my aforementioned statement =( I'll double check though when the shard comes back online

Yeah, I have no idea how someone who actually has the artifact uses it to make a tool or to be an artifact, but I strongly suspect it can't be both at the same time.

Fill out a bug report, you should have the artifact not the item the artifact drops.

You use the artifact active, it gives you the tool, when using the tool it destroys itself on task completion I believe. So with that I probably wouldn't use it yet on live. Hope you get your artifact otherwise that just sucks. Though I'd wonder whether I'd want the AD or keep it. It's worth a lot due to rarity.

I submitted filed a support ticket they told me to file a bug report in game so I did that (2 days ago) and was told, "Do note that Bug Reports are reviewed by members of the QA team, however you will not be able to edit or view any reported bugs. Additionally, Bug Reports do not receive personalized responses." Which makes me think I won't get a response... not sure what to expect from here on out and I can't view past reports or follows ups on it... hoping it gets fixed somehow and I login and have artifact... is that just wishful thinking?

I don't think I've used the tool yet. The character it's bound on isn't much on professions. Though I am curious if it gets used up if I use it or stays in my inventory...

So you're saying, if I had the artifact, I have to use it's "Power" to get the Asset, then when I use the asset, the asset disappears? Are all those assumptions correct (just for clarification)?

When the shard's up I think I'm going to record a video using it and see what happens (maybe copy it over to preview first...).

Thank you everyone for your responses, this thing has been confusing me. Also, a friend of mine just notified me, and I quote, "[that he] got a rare blacksmith companion, but not an epic one, the rest was just junk, I only exchanged 3 though."

So there's that for companion... waiting to hear back if his companion was BoP...

Now that it's over, I can safely say...

WORST. EVENT. EVER.

Seriously, whoever came up with the idea of this one is designing events solely to make money instead of to make enjoyable content. It's the kind of blatant money grab at the expense of the game that drives people away.

i tend to agree with you, @imaginaerum1. i had no interest at all in doing this event once i saw that you needed to spend zen on it. Instead, i just tossed all my grommets up on the AH and made AD.

But, just like other events that i don't care for, i mostly just shrugged and played as usual.

Yeah, it was a boring event. I probably took 3 hours of my time to participate, then I just got fed up with the usual grind and quit.

I can't say with 100% certainty (I'm usually on the cautious side about my knowledge) but I believe that's the case.

Description showing that using/activating the artifact gives the tool.
Use: Activating this artifact will summon a Legendary tool usable in all crafting Professions. It will also give you the Insight of Gond, halving the damage you take from all attacks for 4.5 seconds.

I quit after 6 Doohickys. Got a mount on the first pull then nothing but rare HAMSTER on the rest. When the mount sold for the 4mil I listed it at, I bought 3 more Doohickys and scored three more packs of HAMSTER.

I spent about 50.00 USD looking for the Forgehammer of Gond artifact this event, and I've spent 100 USD in previous weeks buying profession packs for that artifact.

Lame event. Too grindy. Didn't have proper descriptions/explanations of what to expect, and didn't deliver on the HIGH CHANCE TO DROP the mount. 1 of 9. I feel bad for people who didn't get any, but it wasn't what I wanted anyway.

Way to ruin my love for the most interesting deity in Faerun.

Yes , when you upgrade the artifact to 100 you discard the epic tool and then summon a legendary one that gives 50% quality boost.

Annoying event, still grinded like hell though.. I made 5 dohickeys, traded the first 3 and got a mount on the third one, then made another to keep and traded the last one and got HAMSTER, I just ran dungeons, sold loot, bought blueprints from AH. Didn't have to buy zen if you just played the game. I noticed on all of them, upgrading to rank 7 was successful first time, every time, but had several fails at 80%, I used pres wards though so meh..

Anyway, I hope this isn't how future events are heading.

All of my grommets from Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon were enough to get me to a rank 5. At that point, seeing how much it would take to get the next step (all I wanted was the fashion set) I ended up buying enough grommets to finish up. There was no way I'd have been able to get the rest of them through normal play. That said, I made my money back and more buying blueprints and making Doohickeys for sale on the AH. Also sold some profession mats for a nice amount. So it was in the end profitable but not through what you'd expect the purpose of the event to have been. I hope if they ever do something like this again, the amount of RP needed is cut significantly or else there are drops that give more RP. In every other event, it's been possible to get the best rewards (even if gated by the RNG) by working at it. Even the Masquerade of Liars was far less grindy than this and a lot quicker to get the skeleton.
