Anyone else sick & tired of server lag?

Is anyone else getting so fed up with server lag in dungeons/skirmishes, that they are about ready to write this game off?
Just quit out of new skirmish because half the time my health potions, Daily, and lifesteal aren't even working or activate 2 seconds after they should have. Lagging all over the place every time I dodge.
There has been intermittent lag in CN for the last month or two.
Heck, tried to do a CN run to check the CW nerfs yesterday on test and couldn't even finish Drako with all the lag & the red circles not even appearing half the time. (yea test server is separate issue)

I run a high end computer with a solid low latency no packet loss internet connection....so why am I continuing to play a game where the people in charge don't seem to have any emphasis on game playability?

They can add content to stir up zen sales, but maybe, just maybe its time for them to focus on the basics of the game, like actually being able to play without rubberbanding, or being able to open your inventory and actually see whats in it without waiting for a half minute for the empty boxes to populate with graphics.

I always wonder if some lag is related to non-Neverwinter things, like ISP, video card, etc.

I think my video card I have had for about 3.5 years might be nearing its end, but I have noticed extreme lag in boss battles with a full party over the past few months. I never had that lag in the past, ever!

Of course, in my case it might be a tired old video card . . . been there before. . . .

Some ISPs have been "throttling" connections to put pressure on game companies (and others, like Netflix) to pay extra for high-speed usage. Being investigate by Federal Trade Commision now.

The weird thing is the live server has been quite awful for me the past couple of weeks or so ( I very rarely ever suffered lag before the patch either 2 or 3 weeks ago) , I went on the preview server last night and it is soooo smooth compared to live so I'm guessing lag for me is just down to server load , well either that or the preview server is better set up and more stable.

oddly enough I never lag inside of PE. I do get sporadic lag in some dungeons though and that has only been since mod 3 and the graphics updates.

I don't ever lag. I don't know if it's my location or not. The only time I lagged, was when I was accidentally uploading things with dropbox. I have noticed though, that some of the graphic/skill effects are VERY graphic intense. Custom tone down your graphics and see if that helps first. The sliders don't really properly represent the presets.

This is actually a big issue in the game my wife plays. Square-Enix has a major problem with it in their games. Here's some data from that other game about their problem. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/74559-Request-for-information-ISPs-and-P2P-throttling
In that game people are using vpn's and getting less lag because they don't get throttled that way even though vpn's tend to increase ping time compared to a "normal" connection without throttling.

If it's not network related because of throttling it could be an issue with the psu as well. If a graphics card doesn't get enough power you get crashing, and decreased performance.

Just tossing some idea's out there on where the problem could be. Good luck troubleshooting where it's coming from.

To the mods, I'm not trying to advertise the other game or company, I just find it good reading on what may be a similar problem in another game.

I do get lag every once in a while in an instance. It'll be like I'm playing by watching screenshots. Things still work, but I'm getting like 1 frame per 5 seconds. Its rediculous and I know its not on my end. I run a relatively high end custom built PC. I can play games like skyrim on high with good FPS. Whenever I'm questing or in PE I get a solid high FPS with no lag, and usually in instances I do too. The dungeon in the Chasm seems to be the worst out of everything I've done so far.

Ever since the mentioned graphic updates, the game was lagging for me. After investigating the cause, i came to the conclusion that NW now overheats my GFX card. However, i got rid of the stock fan that was attached to my card and replaced it with a more powerful one. The lag now seems to be almost entirely gone.

Anyways, this scenario should not appear in the first place.
