Garden Access

...okay, so. I did the daily grind through the event for twenty keys. TWENTY KEYS. Because I was under the impression that if I didn't, they'd all lose access to the garden.

And now it looks like I have access on all of my characters that did the dailies WITHOUT needing the keys - only two characters of mine didn't end up doing the dailies at least once, and hence are locked out, requiring a key.

Is this intended? Are the keys meant to just be for future characters to unlock the garden? Because if so, for the love of god. MAKE THIS KIND OF THING MORE CLEAR NEXT TIME. Twenty keys!

Cryptic seriously need to employ somebody who is capable of writing small accurate descriptions , writing vague unhelpful and uselss descriptions seems to be a specialty of theirs .

Well I managed to give another one of my toons the key, they couldnt get in, and I swapped to the one that bought the key but no longer had it and she managed to go in... It looks that the key itself is useless then. I wish it did unlock account wide.

I don't understand why they never explain clearly how anything works during events. And to add to the confusion, they made keys account wide instead of character bound when it only works for the character that buys it.

Is it really that hard to have accurate descriptions, and explanations on important details in their blog posts? It's not a lot of work to do those on the dev's part, but it will save so many players the trouble of grinding for stuff that end up useless.

A real downer finish to the anniversary event.

Okay, I just tried something and it worked.

For those who had a key transferred in inventory before event ended but did not buy it directly will be denied access.

Workaround, mail the key to yourself, and it will now work.

Good to know. I'll not be using my keys for a bit just in case, though.

Also note that spare keys stored in personal bank will be consumed, but not those stored in shared bank.

Not to steal Wimpazoid's thunder, but he/she is not on, so, yes. You really should.

If you mean the shared bank slots at the bottom of the character bank where you can put account-bound stuff - they are NOT consumed out of there. Only out of the CHARACTER bank above it. I've got a stack of 20 keys sitting in my shared bank that have not been consumed despite much going in/out of the gardens by my characters.

I had to rewrite my comment on this 3 times. My point is, cryptic will ignore you, even if it was their fault(with the key description). Their profit margin is to high for them need to listen to players.

I like Cryptic and all but they don't need our input to make money, but they do need our make sure they don't lose money... ;)

I was told a method to get the key to work. And it does work.

Mail the key to yourself, then pick it up on the character you want to access the garden. Take the key and place it in your shared bank.

Your character now has permenant access to the garden without need of the key in inventory.

Now that it works like this. I like this method.

I didn't get 20 cries but I got enough over one to hurt. And I hurt for every person that didn't the transmute because they wanted Garden access and sacrificed the time to get it on every character. There ought to be a hew and cry on this until it is made right.

I'm confused, explain this to me:

You only need ONE key --> put it in your shared bank --> now ALL of your characters can enter the garden without having a key in their personal inventory?

    Is that statement accurate?

(if this is true... something needs to be done to all those people that bought more than one key for each separate character for wasting their figurines on extra keys when only just ONE key can get all your characters in the garden; since it was cryptic's fault for inaccurate description).

Side Note: I also don't like how they suddenly added in a figurine:renown purchasing feature AFTER the event ended without informing us it was going to be there. I missed out getting what I really wanted because I didn't have enough renown points, and i spent my figurines prematurely right before the event ended because i didn't have knowledge they were going to ninja-patch in a figurine:renown ability after the event. Really shady on Cryptic's part, and left a bitter taste in my mouth for this 'anniversary event'. Just another one to add the list of things they've done recently that I really don't like. I am very dissatisfied how this event shop was handled and feel like I wasted a lot of time in this game. Think i need to step away from the game for a while and reconsider what I'm doing here with my time in Neverwinter.

We need a redo or extension on this event...

You need one key per char. There is some bug regarding getting them from the bank, so mail them to the char you want to have them, even if it is the char that withdrew from bank.. mail it to yourself. Having one key in shared bank will not unlock it for multiples. Or go off in a huff because you can't get your head around it if you prefer, but it's really not worth it.

I can see why a lot of people would have run into the actual issue that exists.. taking the key from shared bank doesn't work. Emailing it does. That's Cryp/PWE's error. It would have got me too, except my shared slots are all full, so I used email.

1 key per char. Email it to the char, have it in inventory, the door will open.
Someone said something like they had a stack in the main char's bank, and they were all consumed when that char went in. If that happened to you, open a ticket and don't be nasty in your description and they may be able to help. That sounds like a bug to me, but seeing how certain other things work, I can see how it could happen.

As far as Cryptic being 'shady' for allowing people a way to use the left over resources.. get real. They tossed a bone to the masses. (If they did what you say, I don't know or care if they did, beyond making a mental note for next time.) They gained nothing from it. Can't have 'shady' without 'ill-gotten' gains, and there were none.

You could also allow the keys to be consumed as intended, one per character, and only keep any extras stashed in the shared bank until needed.

I wouldn't say it was shady, but this did irk me somewhat.

By which I don't mean to actually call anybody stupid. I think a huge amount of it is actually a grueling schedule and overwork. But it does mean that we get unclear tooltips, lack of detail in event descriptions, incorrect dates and various other typos and errors in news posts, and important facts left out.

I suppose that in hindsight, other events with two currencies have permitted exchanging the day-limited type for the farmable type during the event's twilight, but this is still something that occurred while those multi-week events were running, not just after they ended. And we shouldn't have to assume such things or gamble on them coming true. What exactly is the harm in letting us know?
